THEY TURNED A THRIFT SHOP FIND INTO A FANTASTIC COLLECTIBLE!LIGHT FIXTURE WAS ABOUT TO BE STORED IN GARAGE, OR TRASHED.NOW IT IS THE CENTERPIECE LIGHT FIXTURE OF THE HOUSE.HAD EXCELLENT IDEAS IN THE CONVERSION TO MODERN USE. NOT MANY OF THESE MASTER RESTORATION PEOPLE LEFT FOR THIS TYPE WORK.
Description of Work: COMPLETELY REWIRED,AND BRACED,BALANCED FOR WEIGHT OF THE PRISMS AND CEILING ATTACHMENT. .

+ -1 moreSummerour Lamps is the best place for repair work on higher end and antique lighting! They are so good at repairing antique lamps without changing the authentic look of the lamp! They have the best selection of shades! I LOVE that they can make anything in to a lamp! I have had several candlesticks and porcelain/ceramic accessories made in to lamps and they always do a wonderful job! They have a very nice selection of lamps and lamp bases. It is the place to go if you want to customize a lamp!
Description of Work: I had two pairs of lamps that needed to have height added to them. Eric Summerour was very helpful in suggesting ideas. He added bases to one pair of lamps and you can not even tell that they were not original to the lamps! He advised against doing the same to the other lamps because he said it would not look good. I appreciated his honestly instead of wanting to just make money. I got new shade for 2 other lamps and had a antique floor lamp repaired.

+ -1 moreI found this company on Angie's list; I called them and found that they had Saturday hours. I took my lamp in, he new exactly what was needed, fixed and charged a reasonable amount. This is a lighting store and I was able to browse the store while waiting. He was friendly, helpful and had good prices. I will use him again.

Description of Work: Purchased one lamp and they made a second lamp to match so I would have a pair. They do a beautiful job of creating lamps. Their materials are very nice quality. I have many lamps that I have purchased and had made from Summerour in the past 10 years. The lamps have held up well and are classic pieces that I will have for a lifetime. The personnel at Summerour are wonderful - very easy to work with and knowledgeable. They are definitely the place to go if you have something that you want made in to a lamp! They have the best selection of shades in Charlotte. They also can make a shade from your fabric.

+ 0 moreMy husband dropped off a mid-twentieth century Lenox lamp to have it rewired-this was without an appointment. He requested that the original harp be left in "as is" condition because we really liked the shade and finial. Summerour "rewired" the lamp by replacing the inside of the workings and was able to leave the harp as the original. I'm not sure how important that is to everyone, but it is important to us! Three days later, my husband picked up the lamp and it is again serving us daily even though it is approximately 60 years old.
Description of Work: Rewired a Lenox collectible lamp.
