+ -1 moreSouthern Star Roofing is top notch. They communicate very well and did not require me to be home at the time of my roof repair. I worked through Claire who explained what repairs I needed done, how long the work would take and an appropriate quote. After not finding a better quote out there, I contacted Claire to get set up. When the work was complete, they even sent pictures of exactly what was fixed and why before I paid the invoice. They also fixed a couple of shingles at no extra charge after I did not request them to be replaced initially. Great people and even better service!

From the my first call every representative was professional and courteous. They answered all my questions and gave me a rough timeline of what to expect and how everything would happen. They made me feel at ease and confident not only in the job but with every step of the process. At each phase someone would call to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. I would contact them again and again for any home improvements or repairs I would need.

+ -1 moreI am pleased to announce after two months with some heavy rain fall, no rain gutter overflow and the deck of the gazebo is always dry. We have spread out the furniture and can leave it in place.
Description of Work: I called ten companies and talked with someone, left voice mail messages, or left messages on their website inquiry page. I told each company I need some to be creative to address our gutter problem. The previous owner had a gazebo placed against the corner of the house and attached two-car garage and left the standard size gutters in place. The roof line of the gazebo hung over the roof line of the house and garage, so there were two roofs funneling water in to the gutter. Added to that was the valley between the house and garage roofs. We had a constant problem of gutter overflow after heavy rains. We had to cluster most of the deck furniture on one side of the deck when not in use. Only two came out, and only Southern Star Roofing and Construction said they were up for the challenge. They kept in constant contact with us through the project. Five-inch downspouts were installed. Six-inch gutters were run the length of the side of the house and garage. The gutter guard attachments ended as it came under the gazebo roof. A long run of heavy metal wire mesh net was attached to the facia of the gazebo and the other side a “button” was attached under roof shingles. Lastly, two long runs of stainless steel flashing was inserted against the side of the gutter against the gazebo facia to prevent any overflow or splashing from rain. The high cost was due to the length of stainless steel flashing used and the labor involved to install the flashing and wire mesh leave/debris over the gutters running inside the gazebo

+ -1 moreIts become increasingly more difficult to find a contractor that can deliver quality work, on time, adhere to the estimate presented and of course leave your home the way it was before the individual began. I have to say, when our neighborhood was recently hit with severe hail damage, i was hard pressed to find more than one roofer that stood out and encompassed the traits we all want in anyone working on our home. Brandon and Southern Star were excellent, communication, timeline, quality of work all a cut above. Brandon and his team got to work exactlg when promised and completed a brand new roof in similar fashion, answered all questioned and not only walked the completed job with me but followed up one more time before ecer sending an invoice. For those looking for an honest, experienced roofer, Southern Star stands alone. Bar-none

Southern Star was on time, on budget, gave me the best product possible, cleaned up when they were finished, worked from sun up to sun down to get the job down. Everyone was professional. They took down the old roof, removed all the debris, built the new roof and again cleaned up everything. Once they let there was nothing left for me to do! If the need arises, I will definitely call Brandon Johnson with Southern Star Construction again.
Description of Work: In July 2016 the roof of my back porch was damaged in a storm. My insurance company recommended that I get an estimate from Brandon Johnson with Southern Star Construction. I was told he was honest, professional and would do an amazing job. When I called to get an estimate, Brandon was very knowledgeable, professional and I did not feel like ‘just another customer’. The next day he came by to review the damage and provide an estimate. He went into detail to explain what needed to be done and answered every question that I had.

Once I got the work scheduled they came right on time and finished the job beautifully—all within one day. No more leak thank goodness! And I felt the price I paid was very fair. If I ever need another roof repair, I will definitely be calling Southern Star Construction. I have already recommended them to another neighbor and will continue to do so!
Description of Work: I am very impressed with the services of Southern Star Construction. Earlier this year I was in need of a minor roof repair. We had a leak that only affected one room and a roof that certainly did not need to be completely replaced. I researched roof repair companies online, and reached out to several with no response. My best guess is that they just didn’t think my repair was a big enough job to warrant their time. So finally a neighbor recommended Southern Star. I reached out and heard back from them right away.
