I had some siding damaged in various places around the house. Southern Star came out and inspected the siding then was able to match it perfectly and replace them all. Can't tell which pieces are the old siding and which are new.

Yes! A roofing company that is honest and dependable! Recommended by a trusted friend. When she mentioned Southern Star, I recalled a short tv news piece on a 'good neighbor' that put a new roof on a elderly person's house at no charge. In the piece I spotted the name of the company as Southern Star. What makes them so good? They are honest and dependable. The owner and founder of Southern Star, Brandon Johnson, came out himself to give me the estimate. He's definitely a 'hands on' owner that cares. He promised me he would only charge me the deductible on my home insurance no matter what. He worked with the Insurance company. That took a lot of extra time because of the insurance's mix up. (He patiently worked out the problem for me.) The materials he used was of the highest quality available, and he oversaw the entire process - - hands on. The work was done on time, and when he promised. My new roof looks beautiful, the job is done very well, protecting all my perennial plants and lawn, and a very particular clean up. My expectations, were exceeded many times over. Seems like I should pay a higher price for such a quality job, but nope, just the deductible. Wow, I'm impressed!

Hunter was very professional and explained the damages and the claim process in details, he even showed me pictures of the damages on my roof. I was also in constant communication with Alex which made the process smoother. The roof was replaced while I was at work and it was completed in several hours. Smooth work!

Southern Star roofing is a class act local company. Having a rental portfolio, I'm always in need of reliable, responsive, fair priced contractors and repair companies. Brandon was exceptionally responsive, I put an inquiry out at 930PM and the next day at 8AM, he called to discuss the details a bit more....now that is responsive! The quote was fair and the work was done timely, they said it would take 2-days to replace a hail damaged roof and it indeed took 2-days. They said it would take one day to replace the gutters and low and behold the gutter system was put on in one day. They were on time to their proposed timing and the finished product with their knowledge and explanation was spot on. Very happy with this company, specifically Brandon & Alex who I interacted with and would absolutely recommend Southern Star for any roofing issues.

Southern Star delivered some of the best service I have dealt with in a very long time! Claire was absolutely on top of it! She was always in contact with me and keeping me in the loop in regards to the entire process of repairing my leaky roof. Brendan was top notch and extremely professional when he came out for my initial meet up. He took photos of everything and showed me exactly what needed to be done to properly repair my roof and was very prompt with getting me an estimate. The technician that performed the repair left zero mess behind and did an impeccable job. I will absolutely be using this company again and will recommend them to anyone and everyone. We had some minor roof weather damage and Southern Star Roofing was very responsive in coming out to assess our damage. They provided us with a detailed report, including over 20 photos of our roof. The price was reasonable and they had someone back out to our house within two weeks to do the repair. The work was done to our satisfaction, and we would definitely use their services again if needed.

We have recently worked with Southern Star Roofing & Construction company for our roof replacement as well as other repairs. The company owner Mr. Brandon Johnson was very helpful and professional from the initial evaluation to assist in work with insurance company to schedule the detailed work. On the day of the roof replacement, with materials all pre-ordered and delivered as scheduled, Brandon came personally to inform us about the plan and to make sure the crew was in place to do a great job. The foreman on the job, Gerome is very experienced and provided his crew with all the decisions needed on the spot and ensured the job to be done not just on time but also with high quality. All the crew members are very skillful and well organized on their tasks. Roof replacement was completed from beginning to end on the same day! What an amazing job! When they left, we had a new roof and a clean front and back yard with a little sign of a major construction was done on that day. With some unfinished repair work, Brandon, Alex (office manager), and Gerome are in close contact with us for scheduling the work and we thank all of them for doing such a great job in helping their customers. In summary, we are very impressed with the professionalism and thoughtfulness Mr. Johnson and his company exhibited doing this job and truly appreciate their efforts to go extra miles in helping their customers. Therefore, we would highly recommend this company for roofing and construction related projects.

I would rate Southern Star Construction LLC a 5 star rating because from start to finish they excelled in their delivery of an excellent job on my home roof and gutter installation. When the project manager came out to assess the job, he was professional, knowledgeable about the product, caring and followed through in all that he said. The next employee provided the samples , the next employee came out to match color of the gutter system. When all the decisions were made, the roof installers finished in one day and within a couple of days the gutters were installed. The cleanup and the installation were superb. This company has young employees who communicate so well with one another and with me. They were always in the loop if I had any questions. The price was competitive with other companies. I like the way they took care of all warranty paperwork. The supervisors checked on the job at completion. I would recommend this company to everyone. I saw the owner on television on the news. There was an elderly couple who's roof leaked so bad in the house. They couldn't afford a new roof. Brandon Johnson,the owner, put a new roof on the couple's house after seeing their unfortunate situation on the news. He said he tries to help others because God has blessed him and as a result , he wants to help others. I am thankful for a job well done.

Brandon and his team did an amazing job from beginning to finish. Brandon was very, very easy to work with it. He has such a gentle, kind spirit. They came early on a Friday morning in the very cold January weather and worked all day. They came back for a couple of hours on Saturday to finish up a few things and the job was complete. My house looks amazing. I highly recommend Brandon and Southern Star Roofing if you are looking to have your roof replaced or repaired, you will not be disappointed.

Southern Star did a wonderful job, and Hunter was great to work with. They helped us navigate insurance, explained to us the issues in a very clear manner, were punctual, and overall made the repair a very easy situation to deal with. Would recommend them.

I first started speaking with Southern Star roofing in November of 2018. The first project manager I spoke with told me how if I wanted a dark shingle I had two choices, Charcoal and Moiré and I should choose Charcoal Black and not Moiré Black as it has more dimension. He came out, looked over the job and gave me a price. I had some traveling to do and when I reached back out to the project manager he was no longer with the company and I was given a new project manager and he told me the exact opposite of which shingle to choose and advised me the first person was wrong. Southern Star came out to do the job. I was told the crew would be at my place between 7:00 and 8:00. At 930 two gentlemen were in my driveway. They didn’t speak a word of English. I tried speaking to them and they stared. Then 20 minutes later they handed me a phone and on the other end was a gentleman who spoke to me in English I could barely understand. He then came by the house and told me they would rip off the old roof and put the back on and then come back the next day and put on the front. While the work is being done at my house; There wasn’t anyone who spoke English so don’t ask question. Because no one will answer. Instead they will stare at you, talk amongst themselves, laugh and go back to work. They crew was there and putting up shingles in the dark. How you can put up a roof properly and safely in the dark? I texted and called the project manager he did not respond. Nothing. I asked when they were going to be done and again 20 minutes later someone rings my bell and hands me a phone and I am speaking to someone whom I can barely understand. I ask him how are they putting on a roof in the dark and when will they finish for the day and now he doesn’t understand me. No English ! So, I have no one who speaks English, they can’t give me anyone who does, and the project manager is not responding. The project manager called the next day to say he understands not having anyone to communicate with is frustrating. They leave for the for the day. I understand an active work site, I have been on hundreds of construction sites. When you leave for the day you do not leave garbage everywhere. I am NOT talking about construction materials because replacing roof brings about a great deal of debris. You need to pick up before you leave, and you shouldn’t leave food lying around. The pics show what my house looked like the next morning before the crew arrived. I asked if there would be anything coming in from the attic, I was told no. My attic is filthy. Why not just say yes so I can protect my belongings? Why lie? So, in summary, if you want; To have no one the job site that speaks English. Garbage and food strewn about your yard and the neighbor’s yard. To be ignored when you call the Project Manager, who never came by the job site. Confusion about proper materials and I am still not sure that the examples they showed me were correct. Then call Southern Star Roofing! If you what professionalism, cleanliness and an ability to communicate to the organization you’re paying. Then go somewhere else.

NEW CONSTRUCTION: Fantastic Quote, Fantastic Workmanship, Exceptional Character... They efficiently handled the 87 Square whole house job like it was a 5 square room addition. REALLY PLEASED. Will Recommend and Will Use Again!

Southern Star Roofing is the company to call for your new roof! We called them for a free estimate for our new roof and from the estimate to the clean-up we were impressed. Very responsive, respectful and knowledgeable. Brendan gave came out within a few days of my initial call to schedule an estimate and patiently answered all of my questions and efficiently collected the measurements he needed, the entire appointment took no longer than 30 minutes. The crew came out to install our roof a couple weeks later but could have come sooner if our schedule had allowed. We are more than pleased with our new roof!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND SOUTHERN STAR ROOFING!!!

HORRIBLY WHY DO you ( ANGIES LIST or HOEMADVISOR ) do BUSINESS WITH CROOKED ROOFER ? I suspect you don’t know that southern Roofing are lying, cheating crooked people that exploit senior citizens like myself. Brandon Johnson, the Owner , told me he was licensed North Carolina Contractor FACT HE LIED > READ MY SOLICITATION which H & S Roofing had no time to accommodate to explore or do this before you call me at 516-815-2800 Do your due diligence and get the FACTS RIGHT FIRST. I suggest you consider suspending him for a year or permanently from Angies list AND YOUR 2ND COMPANY AT HOME ADVISOR , which you acquired recently. This man has decimated my relationship with my partner for over 40 years !!! What about that !!!:??? %%% $$$$$$ Either settle this and let him take serious loss way more than the $5,000 Delaine Bartlett made and in writing before they hired sue them and screw them lawyers in Concord, NC, who filed lien immediately after they offered to settle this and I accepted that $5,000 offer subject to proof they filed the paper work with Farmer’s Insurance and gave me my ten year Unconditional Warranty IN WRITING, WHICH WILL ENABLE ME TO GET BACK SOME MORE MONEY, WHICH I DO NOT TRUST THEY WILL DO OR WOULD HAVE DONE. That offer is obviously now in default and perhaps should be cut in half , if they all and you all, wish to stay out of Iredell County, North Carolina Courthouse. AND, I HAVE PUT HIS LAW FIRM ON NOTICE AS WELL IN EMAIL AND BY MAIL WHICH I WILL MAIL TODAY, AND NOW YOU ( Angie's list ), "ARE ALSO ON NOTICE AND YOU ARE EITHER WITH ME OR YOU ARE NOT WITH ME ON THIS, PERIOD. YOU ARE ALL CULPABLE.
