Description of Work: The person came out to give us the quote and he was very nice. He said that someone email me an estimate in the next day or so . A week went by and I had not received the estimate. I called their office and spoke with a receptionist that said they would send it to me that day and I never got it. I called again and left a message and no one ever called me back. I called several more times and left messages and no one ever called me back. I had to find another moving to come out and give me a quote.

Description of Work: Instead of coming to my home and looking at everything I had to move, he asked me questions over the phone. I've never had a moving company do this. How can they truly access whats being moved if they don't see it??

Description of Work: Called for an estimate, was told he would be at our apartment that day. No show, called again and asked if he was coming, stated he got busy and would come the next day. He was late the next day. He told us he would send an estimate per email that day. No email, called again the next day asking for the email, stated he would send it. This is 2/18/13 and we still have not received an estimate.

Description of Work: Moved to a new location, all furniture, boxes. Moved a year ago and used another company on Angie's List. Was NOT happy with them, so searched for someone else and found Southern Moving. So glad I did. They were easy to work with and made moving enjoyable. Came early, worked quickly, and were willing to do anything I asked of them. Will recommend them to others.

Description of Work: It was a great experience to work with Southern Moving for our local move. They were very accommodating in trying to keep up with us and the changing closing dates that seemed to plague our move. Isaac and his crew moved my family out of a rental home and a storage facility to our new home. His entire crew was professional and polite. Taking care to move every box and piece of furniture as if they were moving their own things. Having already done 2 moves earlier in the year, we wished we could have used Southern Moving for them all!! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: Move from 2-story townhouse to a brick ranch (2 miles away). Carefully moved Queen size sleigh bed, chest and dresser. They easily figured out how to get the queen size mattress down the narrow stairs (that turn at the bottom) and over the railing. I remembered it was a tight fit when I had moved into the townhouse several years earlier. But they handled it with ease without any marks or bumps on the wall....a small miracle!! Moved 2nd bedroom furniture and treadmill (only) from 3rd bedroom. The move also included a large TV, (not a flat screen) TV stand w/ glass doors, , and all accessories, living room & dining room furniture and all pre packed boxes. They were very efficient and careful with all the furniture. All furniture was wrapped for protection.

Description of Work: We used them to move our 3000 sq foot house. Not a single item was damaged! The crew was very polite hard working. We have moved 12 times in the last 10 years (military) and this was by far the BEST experience. I would not hesitate to use them again! The final bill turned out to be less than the estimate b/c they finished early.

+ -1 moreRANDALL YORK DID A TREMENDOUS JOB. HE SHOWED UP TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, THEY ARRIVED ON MOVING DAY EXACTLY ON TIME. THEIR ESTIMATE OF TIME (AND CONSEQUENTLY THE COST OF THE MOVE) WAS WITHIN 15 MINUTES WHICH WE THOUGHT WAS EXCELLENT BECAUSE IT WAS A RELATIVELY COMPLICATED MOVE (SOME FURNITURE STAYING IN CHARLOTTE BUT MOVING TO A DIFFERENT PART OF THE HOUSE, MANY BOXES THAT WE HAD PACKED, MOVING FURNITURE ALREADY IN THE NEW HOUSE IN ORDER TO PLACE CHARLOTTE-FURNITURE IN THE CORRECT PLACE, ETC.). THE CREW WAS PROFESSIONAL AND FULL OF ENERGY DURING THE 12 HOUR DAY (THEN THEY HAD TO DRIVE 2 HOURS BACK TO CHARLOTTE).

+ -1 moreWE ONLY HAD TWO ITEMS WITH SCRATCHES. THE CREW WAS POLITE AND VERY CAREFUL. NOT ONE PIECE OF FURNITURE WAS DRAGGED ACROSS THE FLOOR - EVERYTHING WAS LIFTED AND PLACED GENTLY. THEY USED A LOT OF PADS. THEY WERE ON TIME AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
