Southern Moving

WONDERFUL. Southern Moving made an otherwise stressful experience extremely organized and stress free. The guys (Isaac, Jared and Barry) arrived right on time and got to work. They were extremely careful with all of our items - wrapping each piece of furniture carefully and handling with care and delicately placing everything down. Each of my requests, however annoying, was met with a "That's no problem" or "That's what we are here for." These guys are top notch, reasonably priced and extremely professional. It almost makes me want to move again ...

After my wife and I were married, we finally combined households and called Southern Moving to move my furniture in. They quoted a reasonable price, showed up on time with workers who were unfailingly polite, and did the work efficiently and well. I'd hire them again without hesitation.

It was a wonderful experience. The owner come out to give us and estimate a month before the move. His crew that actually moved us were professional and efficient. Not a thing was damaged and if we move again, we will definitely call Southern Movers again!

From the time I scheduled the move with Randall, the owner of the company, we had extensive difficulties with communication. Each time I spoke with Randall, he was unsure about the date of the move, who I was and the circumstances surrounding the job. I was very patient in trying to explain everything and provide detailed information, however, it was never evident that these details were tracked in a customer file etc. When the Southern Mover's crew finished the job and called Randall for us to settle up our bill, he told the crew leader that he would have to email us the invoice. The crew leader was very confused by this because he said this was not normal practice. With our first move, we were given an estimate for the cost and then settled up at the end of the day when the work was completed. After waiting several days and never receiving an emailed bill, I called and left a message inquiring about the bill and about some outstanding wood floor repairs that Randall agreed to make due to damages sustained during our first experience with Southern Movers. Not only did I never receive a return phone call, I never received an emailed invoice. I waited roughly another two weeks and called again about scheduling the repairs for the wood floor and asking about the March 23rd invoice. Yet again, I never received a call back. On JUNE 27TH, over 3 months after the second move and 4 months after our initial move with the wood floor damages, Randall called and left a message saying "sorry about the- we had a lot..." indicating he was sorry about the delay and they had a lot going on. He asked me to follow up with him by calling or emailing to get the invoice. After all our time and effort in attempting to contact him, and not ever getting any follow up to schedule the repairs for the damages which happened at the first move, I am disgusted and appalled to NOW be requested to contact them for an invoice. On June 28th, we received an email invoice requesting payment DUE on June 28th. It is very irritating to be dealing with this company 3 months after the services were rendered. We allocated funds on our end for this move when it occurred, and because of Southern Mover's disorganization and poor customer service, we are just now receiving an invoice. For customers who are giving this company repeat business, this conduct is appalling and not what I would expect from a company who has been so highly rated on Angie's List.

The move could have not gone any better! Southern Moving is AWESOME! I'd recommend them to anyone in need of a PROFESSIONAL & COURTEOUS moving company!

He informed me not to put the boxes outside due to the humidity. He informed me to leave the boxes in the house and he would come pick them up and place them in storage for eighteen months till i sold the house. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

The movers were very careful. I would say that the owner is not very organized. They initially told me that they could move a piano and then the day of the move they said they couldn't move it and they didn't know why they said that and the owner said it. The movers themselves were excellent and just from an organizational standpoint they need a little work.

My experience with Souther Movers was FANTASTIC! They were very professional and helpful. I need 4 pieces for furniture moved from my bedroom to my garage. I called other moving companies from Angies List they quoted me THREE TIMES THE PRICE! Randall was so nice and helpful ,he knows the value of good customer service. I will use Southern Movers in the future and I will spread the word about what a great experience I had with them. Isaac and his crew did the job in 20 minutes thanks again. Cindy Motchar

They were fantastic. Very professional and hard working. They knocked out this move in no time. Everyone was polite and kept working the entire time. Southern Moving was the highlight of an otherwise very difficult move. If only my contractors worked as hard as they did. They will always be my first call if I ever have to move again.

possibility the floor could get sratched. I didn't make this request -- apparently, this is their approved protocol. What a great company and people! Their service just blew us away! The prices are very reasonable and they are super fast, and don't leave until everything you needed them to do is completed (bed setups, and the like). Hire these movers - they are super in our book!

They were very professional, trustworthy, nice, and easy to work with. I would definitely do business with them again.

I contacted Southern Moving to assist with an unload only move for my parents. The guys showed up right on time, and Issac and crew (3 total) did a great job. They were efficient and courteous and had no issues along the way. Even though I pitched in to move it along quickly, finishing in 2 hours exceeded my expectations. Would definitely use them again, Thanks guys!

They were great from the start. They were contacted via Angie's List and provided a quick callback. The owner scheduled a time to come out and provided a detailed written estimate and explained the moving process. They weren't the cheapest, but also weren't the most expensive; however, I felt confident they would do the job without any issues. Moving day, they were very punctual and provided great moving service. The foreman, Isaac, was great coordinated the move with ease. Overall the move was completed in less time than was estimated, which resulted in paying less than the contracted price. My family and I were extremely pleased and will definitely be using their services again if the need arises.

The experience was first class from my initial phone call all the way through to receiving my receipt. We received estimates from these folks and one other vendor. Even though this vendor was a bit higher in price, my interaction with the owner gave me confidence that we would get a top quality job ... and we did. I can't say enough about the 5 man crew that actually moved our things. They were organized, efficient, kind, and careful. Everything you would want in a moving company. Our job was handled in a brisk, efficient manner. We don't plan to move again anytime soon -- my husband says never -- but if we do, or know anyone who does, I won't hesitate for a second to before recommending Southern Moving!

The guys are professional, punctual, fast, hard working, and careful. Issac runs a tight ship and it shows. They had us moved out of our almost 3,000 sq ft home by 10am and into our new home by 130p. They were patient with my instructions on where to put things and were willing to move a few things around that I changed my mind about. They also assembled beds which greatly reduced the amount of work I was left with. Prior to the actual move, when I needed to contact them about details or change dates or times, I always heard back with 12 hours and they were more than accommodating. When we hired them again to load a moving truck, they completed the job in 2 hours. When we arrived at our new home 1,000 miles from Charlotte the only thing that was broken was a $10 french coffee press. We were very pleased with this company and if we were still in Charlotte, would definitely use them a 3rd time.

They showed up on time and were very nice. They were efficient and unbelievably good. I even tipped them when I was finished.

They were slightly late, perphaps due to traffic. However, they did a wonderful job. Properly packed valuables and delicate items. Properly secured and moved the larger items.

Movers were pleasant. Owner/representative was not present. Speed of move was the movers' primary focus. The old house suffered: Movers spilled a Coke on the carpet of the TV room and did not report it. My wife and I took a couple of hours cleaning it up after the load left. Also, we saw several significant marks on the walls. In particular, in the den there were dents in the wall papered wall. We called this to the driver's attention. He assured us that he had talked to the owner who would take care of it. The furniture suffered: When the china cabinet was brought in, the movers had broken off the center rear support leg. I was sent to Lowes to buy screws and a special glue. Several of the accent tables, as well as the dining room table, had V-shaped scratches on them as though an object had been dragged on the top. Chair and table legs had a variety of nicks.One large solid maple dresser had an oily smear on the top. It looked as though the pad covering it had something soaked into it. Results: We repeatedly tried to contact Southern Moving by phone, USPS, and email, as did the buyers of our old house.We expected help with the furniture repairs and the damaged walls to the old house. No one has made any attempt to get back to us, so we were forced to hire our own furniture repair service and paid for it our of pocket.

I got them from Angie's List. I was not sure who could do the job and I found that people had given them good reports on Angie's List. The two guys that came out were terrific. They ensured that nothing was bumped or scraped. They got it up there and set it up right where I wanted it to be. Three huge guys had moved the TV in when we had got it first and I was quite impressed when just the two of them moved it. It did take them a little time to get back to me but I think that was maybe because it was a small job. I think that they had to kind of work me into their schedule when they did not have much going on, but they were very punctual and professional. They were in and out very quickly and the job took no time at all.

The two man team was great and showed respect to us.

I called Southern Moving approximately three weeks prior to my move, and reserved their services for that day. I called two days prior to the move to confirm their arrival, and I think they had not written down my reservation. They did arrive on the day reserved, but said they did not have a "truck" and instead showed up with an "enclosed trailer". I had concerns about all my stuff (2 BR apartment) fitting into the trailer. They felt confident it would fit. They got nearly everything into the trailer, but some things had to go in the back of the pick-up truck. The movers themselves were very polite and courteous and moved quickly, but the truck and the reservation process seemed much less professional than movers I've used in the past. Apparently the owner normally comes to do a walk through of your place prior to the move. He did not do this for me, and therefore had not told me about the many things that the movers would NOT take. Therefore, I was left to move all lamps on my own as well as anything that did not have a box. For an "in city" move, I felt this was extreme, and have had no problem with other movers taking lamps, a TV, etc. Southern Moving would not move these items for me. The move also went much longer than I expected. I had been told the move would probably take about 4 hours, but it took 6.5, which cost me quite a bit more than I expected. As I mentioned, the movers were very polite, but there were a few things broken during the move, and some of my "real" furniture even seems less study than it did. It's all been moved before, and so I don't know why now these items seem to be less "strong", but perhaps it was the way the movers handled the items. I'm not talking about the MDF furniture I have, because I expect that to take wear and tear much faster, but a nice Broyhill curio cabinet was in very good shape prior to the move, and now has some wobble to it. Overall, all things considered, they did an average job for an average price. Based upon previous reports submitted, I expected above average performance and price.

This was my second time using Southern Moving to move. It was a relatively simple move from one side of our neighborhood to the other and by the time I confirmed the move dates they had to work us in around some other moves and the move occurred over a 3 half-day periods. This ended up working very well for us as we were able to move the most important items first and get things placed prior to the next batch of items. The guys doing the move were very polite and helpful. My wife had them move a large armoir twice after it didn't "work" in the first location and they were happy to do it.

Excellant work! Not a mark on anything! And they were quick. I could not have expected a better job!

This about the second time we have used this service. I did encounter a problem with an item coming up missing. Between the owner and i we concluded that the guys who moved our belongings would not have taken the yard cultivater so it had to have been stolen off the truck while the men were bringing the furniture into our house (we live in an area where it would have been fairly easy for someone to have quickly removed the cultivater and driven off). A truly worldclass company is proven by the way problems are handled and this company showed their class by resolving the issue fairly!
