Overall the move went extremely well. They did a very efficient and professional job with absolutely no damage to furniture, which was my main concern.

They were very smooth. I had no problems. All employees were polite and professional.

I called and left a voicemail, requesting an appointment to get an estimate for a residential move within the City of Charlotte. A lady called back that day, and left a message requesting further information. I returned the call, and provided the information in a voicemail message. I did not hear anything in response for over two weeks. I decided to give it another shot, and called and left another message. Mr. York called me back and was very polite. He took all my information again, and said he would contact me to set up a time for an estimate. I never heard back.

Very well done. The crew was terrific. We subcontracted to Archie's Piano Moving and the crew collaborated with Archie and his team. They moved fast and carefully. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again. Only glitch was that they needed to get a 2nd truck to be able to get everything from the garage. It delayed the move some, but they did not charge us for it, and we closed the day with a very value-added perception of the experience.

I spoke with Randall York at length. The service I was requesting was fairly unusual, but he was willing to do whatever was necessary to accommodate me. I would not hesitate to use them, based on both the great reviews on Angie's List and the personal recommendations of friends who have used them. Randall takes Angie's List very seriously, which is great.

The crew of two men with the lead guy being very knowledgeable and provided services beyond what I expected. The house wasn't ready to receive the furniture and with his recommendations we stored it in that alternate area. They were very accommodating and reasonable. I thought that they bent over backwards to accomplish what I needed done.

Randall York is one of the easiest people I have ever worked with on such a stressful job. This is the second move I have made with Southern Moving. Everyone connected with the company is nice, efficient and professional. The packers were great and worked quickly and carefully, I've found nothing broken. I had a crew of 7 guys working on the actual move. As with my last experience with SM, they were are really good workers. The crew worked well together and made the day run smoothly. They worked from 8-6, a really long day, but they remained friendly and respectful the entire time. I've used this company twice and I'd use them again.

Randall and his employees are wonderful to work with.They were on-time. Randall was onsite to check the progress. He keeps his number of employees small so he can oversee the quality. Justina is one of his employees and handled most of the packaging of breakables and small items. She is a joy to be around.I highly recommend this company to anyone.

We recommend South Moving because of personal involvement by Randall York, owner. Patrick,was ''captain'' of our very efficient crew. With-out exception, they were clean, neat,courteous & on time. The rental stairs was protected by blankets & all floors covered. Our new house was extremely well protected and taken care of from marble & hardwoods to carpet. The railing was blanketed for protection of all walls and stairs. They treated everything we own with respect & we had lots of belongs & LOTS of boxes. It took 4 days to move. The crew hardly took time for breaks and were always pleasant to be around. They did an excellent job. Large move or small, we recommend Southern Moving.

This company really helped us out. They were prompt, professional, reasonably priced, and empathetic to our situation. Our initial moving company (Two Men and a Truck) never showed up on the Saturday they were to move us, and never called to tell us they weren't showing up. So, the first time I had to call other moving companies was Sunday morning. Southern Moving was only one of two companies that called me back that Sunday. They were unable to do the move that day but scheduled the move for first thing that Monday morning. The crew of four guys were clean cut, on time, worked very hard, and were professional. They really helped us out after a very intruding and disruptive situation. I would definitely use them again.

What a great experience!! The movers were on time, polite, professional, and wonderful to work with. My leather couch was wrapped and handled carefully. My garage looks great. My daughter will be moving within the year, and we will definitely use Southern Moving. Thanks!!

Randall York met me at my daughter's home and provided an estimated quote to move her furniture to a storage facility and appliances to my home. Randall had bubble wrap and boxes for large pictures and mirrors with him that saved an additional trip to bring supplies. Our appointment on the day of the move was for 8:00 am but they called and said they would be late. Movers arrived at 9:30am. Five employees arrived to pack up furniture. All furniture was wrapped in packing blankets to keep furniture from getting scratched. Employees were very polite.We provided bottled water since the temperature was so hot that day. They never slowed down except to take a lunch break. We had some furniture that was not going to the storage facility that was added at the last minute to go to my home with the refrigerator, washer and dryer. Randall's employees unloaded all items and the remainder of the load went to the storage facility. They also unloaded items that could not be put on the truck.

Could never connect with them by phone. They tried to reach me several times and I called back but always got a machine.

As with our last move with Southern Moving, everything was handled very professionally and with zero defects. The crew called ahead and was there on time, and they handled our possessions as if they were their own. The team leader, Patrick, is an exceptional individual who worked closely both with me, the customer, and with his team to ensure that everything was completed to a point of perfection. It was!

Great experience! Packers were on time, efficient, and very nice. Movers worked non-stop, and moved a VERY OLD antique china cabinet with care - not a scratch. We were impressed that no gouges or marks were left on floors or walls. The estimate they gave us was a bit under, but packing was more extensive than planned.

I was very pleased and they were very professional. I found them to be very careful with our things.

I thought that their prices were quite high.

I called Randall to give me an estimate based on recommendations from several friends. He was very nice and professional. Once I hired the company, he was a little more difficult to get ahold of, but still responsive to all of my calls. On the day of the move, there was some difficulty getting my furniture out of the apartment, but all of my things were well-protected and undamaged in the move, which is more than I can say for other moves I have made. His crew is professional and most have been with him for several years. It is an independently-owned company, so it is a little less formal than other moving companies I have worked with. Overall, very happy with the end result.

My experience with this company was excellent. The three crew members worked steadily the entire time. They brought an extra truck with a trailer in case it was needed in addition to the van (it was not). The price quoted to me was a maximum for the job ($1,005). The actual charges came in somewhat under that amount, even including my purchase of $80 worth of pads to be used on my stored furniture. I will definitely plan to use this firm in the future. It was obvious that they took great care with all my items.

You can add me to the "not called" list of Randall York. Was supposed to show up Wednesday, didn't show, I called and he apologized--said he'd come the next day and call me in an hour advance--never called--never showed up. VERY unprofessional in my opinion. I will use another mover from the Angie's list for my moving needs and will also inform my apartment manager who recommended him to me to NOT refer him to anyone else. I am just THAT mad about being blown off!

They were great! Very careful with our things and were very nice guys that moved us.

We were extremely pleased with Southern Moving. Randall came and gave us our estimate. We were thrilled when he offered that if it rained on our moving date he could change it if he had a different day available that would work for us. Luckily it did not rain as the moving truck could not go up our steep driveway at our new home. Everything had to be carried from the curb. 5 men came and just wiped out this very difficult job much more quickly than we could have ever imagined. The men were all professional and pleasant and actually seemed to be having a great time doing their job. They were a pleasure to have around. They took great care not to damage the walls. They were very patient with me when there were several times I decided to put furniture in the garage after it was already in the house. I highly recommend them, the previous reports were right on target.

Randall was very polite and positive during sales pitch. His quote matched other company, but his packing quote was $1,000 less. We ended up packing ourselves. Randall did bring us boxes the day he returned from a weekend trip (about 9 PM). My wife was disappointed because he said he would bring labels and never brought them (this lead to extra work in directing furniture at the new house). Quote was 2-3 hours off from the estimate. The movers put four marks in my wall moving a dresser upstairs. The crew was mixed, two movers seemed less experienced, and a little more sloppy, and the other mover who was paired with the foreman (Patrick) was very cautious and thorough. I was pleased with Patrick's knowledge and professionalism. Randall deducted $80 from the bill due to damage of the wall, and took back unused packing materials with no restock charge.

Moving is a difficult project under the best circumstances. Randall York, President of southern moving, made it as painless as possible, he was accurate in his estimates, and lived up to his commitment to keep the cost as low as possible. His crew did an outstanding job, they were pleasant, cooperative, and did not do any damage to our good an excellent experience.

Move was over holidays which is always unpleasant, but friendly and competent care made it less painful. Trying to fit the furniture in our second home (that was already furnished) was no easy task, but with a sense of humor it was accomplished. A hundred pounds in a ten pound bad is not a pleasant sight, but they got it all in and the door closed so all is well until the explosion of opened boxes occurs. I would recommend them and use them again.
