The estimate Randall provides was very thorough and helped me understand how I could save money on the move. Packing occurred over several days and was done with great quality, but the packers did not move especially quickly. We decided to pack several items on our own to save on the cost of packaging materials and labor hours. The movers did a very good job on moving several difficult items in close quarters. The move was completed on time and the crew was hard working and productive.

Randall came out for an initial interview. He talked about how his Grandfather had started the business. I was really impressed. He gave me a quote of $2,600. Our house did not sell as fast as we had wanted so we had about a month to move to the new house. During this time I called Randall and told him we would move the small things and all of the boxes. I told him that I was sure this would reduce our price. The movers came on moving day and worked very hard. I was impressed with their work ethic. This is when everything went down hill. The first movers left the 3 biggest pieces of furniture in the garage. They said they would be back to move those. Two weeks later 3 men came by. They could not lift the big TV or piece of furniture and take them upstairs. About a week later, someone came by to move the last pieces. He told my husband the price was $2,100 and wanted payment then. I called Randall twice and questioned the price and he NEVER returned my phone calls.

The entire experience was pleasant and we were very thankful to have used them! They moved all our boxes which we packed ahead of time and all our furniture. They also broke down and setup all our beds for us. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again, although the price was a little higher than anticipated.

This company was terrific. Quote was right on target. Movers were right on time and packed carefully but moved quickly. It was a great experience and I would recommend Southern Moving to anyone!

Very satisfied with the moving company, Randall is personable and informative and hired a good crew. There were minor issues with calls being returned promptly and moving supplies being delivered at the agreed upon time. However this is a fast-growing company that delivers personal service and is worth the slight growing pains they are experiencing.

Very kind group of guys. They wrapped every piece of furniture to prevent damage. My only concern was that we were quoted 4 men but for a couple hours we had three and a few hours we had two. We were charged by the man/per hour, but as the number of men went down, the cost per man went up. The two movers who were here at the end of the day were exhausted. We would have probably finished sooner if we'd had all four men. Still missing two small pieces that attach to a bed. They were wrapped in a moving blanket but didn't make it into the new house. I would hire them again, but confirm the number of men assigned to the task and the cost per man.

Southern Moving has provided excellent and quick service in packing, loading and unloading furnishings and household items. The staff is friendly and helpful, but works quickly to make sure our moves were completed in less time that estimated. We will call them in the future to assist our clients with their moves!

WE JUST MOVED HERE FROM HAWAII AND WERE AWAITING OUR 20 FT CONTAINER OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS TO ARRIVE. WE NEEDED SOMEONE TO ASSIST WIFE WITH UNLOADING SINCE HUSBAND WOULD BE OUT OF TOWN. CALLED SOUTHERN MOVING AND RANDALL WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND FLEXIBLE SINCE WE DID NOT KNOW THE EXACT DATE WE WOULD NEED HIS SERVICES. KEEPING IN CLOSE CONTACT OVER SEVERAL DAYS OF WAITING FOR CONTAINER TO BE DELIVERED, RANDALL WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE MOVERS WITH A VERY SHORT NOTICE. THE YOUNG GENTLEMEN WHO ARRIVED TO DO THE WORK WERE ON TIME, VERY CAREFUL WITH OUR BELONGINGS, COURTEOUS AND HARD WORKERS (CHEERFULLY DISTRIBUTING OUR BELONGINGS AMIDST OUR 3 STORY HOME AS DIRECTED IN A TIMELY FASHION). I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO CALL SOUTHERN MOVING AGAIN OR HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

Owner Randall York estimated the job himself, then followed up periodically as his professional & friendly packers & movers did the work for 3-4 days. Scheduling was important, as parents had brief time to make the move to available spot in retirement apartment. Southern Moving squeezed in this move without sacrificing quality or charging more. Prices are regulated by State of NC, of course, but Southern showed efforts to avoid wasting time, miles or packing materials (which are key elements of regulated pricing).

Very satisfied. The moving crew was very courteous and accommodating. Did a great job of protecting hardwood floors in new home. Actual cost was consistent with quote provided by Randall. Would highly recommend Southern Movers. A great experience!

Very good experience. Randall York, very likeable guy, came to the apartment to give an estimate. I hired him on the spot and scheduled the move for about ten days later. Four men and a truck arrived on time and began to work. They carried several items out and put them in my personal truck/trailer as requested. They were very courteous and professional. All furniture was wrapped in heavy moving blankets. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. They also gave me the $35 Angie's List discount.

They responded quickly to every call for more boxes. On moving day, they showed up on time and were very professional about moving the boxes, protecting the furniture and everything related to the move. On arrival at the new home, they quickly unpacked and placed the boxes and furniture where we asked. We felt that it was money well spent.

Unbelievable, professional and awesome! Perfect job! Randall is one of the nicest and most courteous people we've ever worked with. He returned phone calls promptly and did exactly as he promised. The three men that he sent to do the job were exceptional. I will call Southern Moving for any moving need. They are first class!

Someone responded quickly to our call and Randall came within a couple of days to give us an estimate. The weekend we wanted to move was available on his calendar. The ladies who packed for us did an expert job. Nothing they packed was broken and everything was labeled extremely well. The movers were very professional, efficient and were very careful with our belongings. We only had one ding on a chair leg that was repaired as such that you would never notice the damage.

I called them to make sure they could do this type of job. They even contacted me earlier today to make sure that the time was still correct. However, two hours after their appointment time they still have not come and I have been home all day. They haven't even contacted me since. If they are lost or aren't going to show up they should call and let me know. As far as hiring them again, I would give them one more chance to come out.

The men arrived promptly and worked efficiently and quickly. They listened to our directions and followed them perfectly. We were very satisfied with them and would use them again.

I was very pleased with this move. In past moves, we have experienced damage to our furniture & walls due to inexperienced workers. Southern Moving treated everything with care, even if it meant they had to take a little extra time to do it. Professional. I also liked the fact that their staff is consistent. They don't hire just anyone.

The two gentlemen very carefully removed the furniture items from the upstairs level of our home, taking time to wrap and protect each one. They were equally careful in removing the items from their truck and placing them-one on the ground level and one on the second level-in my daughter's home.

I was disappointed. I think Randall York is a nice guy, but he made promises he didn't keep. He also didn't return calls and the schedule wasn't as flexible as he promised. I felt that some of his staff was unprofessional. They also didn't move a lot of things and left us on our own moving a lot of items. Most everything was moved without damage, but we did have some furniture that lost feet off the bottoms.

For both moves, his team showed up on time and were very efficient. Randall hires some pretty strong guys who are very meticulous and make sure they don't damage a thing. Our stuff arrived in our new home without a scratch. This company is terrific - I highly recommend them and would not move again with anyone else.

Southern Moving responded quickly to a last minute request. I only had a few pieces I needed help with, they sent two people who were very polite and efficient.

Randall & Mary Virginia were very responsive & courteous on responding to my first inquiry and coming to give an estimate. Randall was very thorough in explaining the process and carefully looking over every room of my home to give tips on moving and how to prepare my belongings. He gave me a handy folder containing helpful moving tips and contact numbers to use during the move process. There was some miscommunication over the confirmation process. Upon Randall's leaving my home after giving an estimate, I felt as if I had reserved a moving date with him and no other confirmation was needed. However, when I called the day before our moving date, they did not have me on their calendar. He had apparently been waiting for me to confirm with him. Fortunately, they were still able to accommodate my move and offered the same level of service. We did only get one moving truck as opposed to two as originally discussed, but he took this into account when calculating my bill.

It was difficult to get in contact with Randall, but once contact was made, he came out to do an estimate for our move. He was very friendly during the estimate. He told me that someone would contact me the next day. No one ever contacted me despite my leaving voice messages. I delayed making a decision regarding my move as I was waiting for Randall's estimate. Since they are rated highly, I was hoping that his estimate would be reasonable and we would go with Southern Moving. Since we have our own company, we try to support other smaller businesses when we can. It was disappointing to make time in my schedule for an estimate and never get a response from Randall. It seems that if Southern Moving did not want to handle our move, a phone call stating as such would have been a more professional way to handle the situation.
