It looked great. They did a nice job. Everybody was very professional. It didn't take long at all.

My roof was hail damaged, and needed to be completely re-roofed, with some gutter repair.It is also a steeply pitched roof (11:12), which adds a lot of difficulty to the job.Being relatively new down here, I put the following RFP on Angie's List: ***************************************************************************My present roof is hail damaged and must be replaced. THE JOB IS TO:Completely remove and dispose of my existing roof and replace with new GAF Timberline Lifetime HD (High Definition), Charcoal Color over 15# felt, with continuous ridge vent, using factory ridge vent roofing material and starter course materials. Furnish and install "Perma-Boots" as required, and install owner supplied Attic Fan plus a Wind Turbine. Protect Shrubs and Clean up site when finished. Workers Comp and Liability certificates are required to be furnished naming the Owner as an additional Insured.THE FINAL RESULT:If I were to need or to refer this trade again, I wouldn't even bother to get other proposals.I would just ask SHS when they could start.

The owner, Shawn, has been in touch with us every step of the way and comes out for estimates and for final inspections of the work. The team did a wonderful job replacing my roof, in fact they did such a wonderful job that we have continued to use them and have had them perform several more jobs around the house. Since the roof was completed we also had new soffits, facia, and gutters installed. They even found us a dentil replacement that looked almost like the original, the house looks great now and we plan on continuing this relationship for years to come with all of our home projects. They even put us in touch with other great companies that provide services outside of their own. Call Shawn with any of your house project needs.

Did a great job replacing the roof, I'd recommend them. Team worked quickly and cleaned up their work extensively afterward. Did a good job of setting expectations on their work. Roof looks great and has held up well in the years since installation I actually came here because we had a small leak at one of the flashing connectors on a chimney and was surprised to find I hadn't written an original review, so here it is plus the add for the warranty. They responded promptly 4 years after roof installation and swiftly fixed it with no questions asked.

It wend very well. Very smoothly as scheduled They arranged loan too.

They were on time, worked quickly, and finished most of the job in one day. My roof is very steep so they needed a half day to complete. The repairs for squirrel damage were scheduled for the following week (different crew). That was done quickly and well. I had a few issues left over from the roof replacement and the second crew resolved them. I will probably use them again even though they did not have the lowest estimate.

Shawn was extremely responsive and explained every aspect of the proposal. Took all my calls and responded to all my emails in a timely fashion and was very polite. Ultimately I was too far in negotiations with another provider, but would gladly work with Shawn and SHS on any future work.

Hired SHS because they were a certified Hardie installer and after doing much research on the Hardie Siding we knew we wanted someone who knew what they were doing. Shawn, the owner, came out and explained the scope of work in detail. The written estimate was very detailed. We knew exactly what we were paying for each component of the job. Shawn gave us many references and locations of houses we could drive by and see the color choices. All the references I called were all very, very positive of the work SHS had done on their homes. There were no hidden or unexpected costs. If they ran into a problem that was not in original contract, they would let us know immediately. We added a few changes towards the end of the job and SHS gladly accommodated the changes. From Shawn, the owner, to the Project Manager, Travis, to the Supervisor, Herbert, to the Office Manager, Heath, to the crew- they were all very professional, pleasant, easy to work with, always returned calls promptly, went above and beyond. The work crew did an excellent job cleaning up every evening. Even one of my neighbors noticed how neat and tidy they kept everything. We have had many compliments on our home from strangers walking by and our friends and neighbors. I am so thankful we chose SHS and would not hesitate recommending them. It was a great experience working with them. We are very pleased.

We didn't go with them at the time because the person who had initially installed the siding (original home contractor) came out as there was warping on the bottom siding and it was still under warranty. We would definitely consider using them if we decide to go with Hardiplank siding.

It went great. Shawn was prompt in his responses and his price was very competitive. He took the time to walk our property and went over all of the details. His crew chief Travis was timely, professional and great to work with. They completed the project one day late due to weather but they told us they would be back early to finish everything off. This was a great experience and I would definitely call them again.

There were no windows there. It was not an easy task. They did an excellent job.

We needed a few minor repairs. SHS responded the same day that I called them and came out a few days later. They looked at my roof and then gave me a quote. They even stayed to make the repairs that same day. I was very pleased and will call them again. I called several roofing companies and SHS was the most professional.

They showed up as scheduled after requesting service. I had 2 leaking skylights on an older roof that I thought may need replaced. After their inspection, they told me to wait a few years before addressing the whole roof; as there were just some isolated flashing issues that needed fixed. After clean, prompt, & courteous service, I would definitely recommend Southern Home Services to my friends.

Arrived on time for quote and gave a written estimate of repair. They were honest and said I did not need to replace the roof. They took pictures to show me the missing shingles and buckled shingles as well as damage to the wood chimney. Email exchange to set up date/time for service. I did have to call back to determine a new date due to weather conditions, but once the new date was determined they showed up on time. Very professional. They were efficient and cleaned up all debris. They also cleaned my gutters. Overall experience was very good. I have no negative feedback on this company and would use them again.

SHS came out and took care of the repairs. Did them per inspection report.

Super people to work with. I had storm damage 3 years ago and worked with one of the "storm chasers" that showed up after the storm and it was a horrible experience that dragged on for months. Shawn and his crew were prompt and very professional. The only delay in getting work done sooner was a result of my insurance company deciding how to deal with our siding, that was no longer available. Shawn and Travis were also a great help in dealing with my adjuster. Once all of the insurance issues were resolved they were quick to get the work done and it looked great. Even after the work was done and we found a few small issues with adjustments to a new door and a few pieces of roofing that had some marks on them, SHS came right back out and took care of them immediately. I would not hesitate to use or recommend them again.

We had a very old roof with rotting soffits. Shawn was very up-front about the amount of rotted wood that might need repairing. He was in constant contact with us as the project got started. He explained the best way to fix the damage and made suggestions that were in our best interest. His crew was very respectful and cleaned up each day. They also got started on the date they told me and finished on time. I would definitely use this company again.

Found SHS at the top of the list and had a semi-roofing emergency with hanging trim. SHS made no effort to respond. Not reliable for the problem we had.

Make appointment for 3/20/2014 at 2:00. they came out and said that they will e-mail or call us with a quote. 5 days later we still have not heard from them. Called and spoke to a lady in the office that apologized for the delay and said that she will speak with someone and they will get back with us on this day. We waited to hear back, but after 4/5/2014 and still did not heard back from them, we decided to called another roofing company.

If you are reading this review, you have found the company to select! In my 25+ years of home ownership I have never worked with a more professional and dedicated team than SHS. Every single person in this company displays the utmost professionalism and they truly "put the customer first". Shawn delivers what he promises. We used SHS several years ago to replace a large window in the bay area of our kitchen - when we had the recent hail storm I did due diligence and interviewed 3 contractors - Shawn came out for SHS - he was the most knowledgeable and most honest of the 3 interviewed - he got the agreement that day. Roof replacement - we used a company several years ago (BTR Roofing) that promised to cover our pool prior to doing the roof - they never did and we ended up with nails in the pool. SHS on the other hand covered the pool as promised and their clean up is beyond excellent -I have not found a single nail anywhere which is virtually unheard of. Travis was the project manager we had for the entire project - Travis was great! He stopped by several times a day and if he could not come by at the end of the day, he always called to check in and ensure I was communicated to on the progress and anything outstanding. The ongoing communications were excellent! Siding replacement - again, a professional job all the way through -When replacing the garage trim, there was a beam that had rotted from water seeping through - they replaced it. I have a ranch house, so it has quite a footprint - His team finished the job in 4 days - each day they always cleaned up at the end of the day, ensured all materials were covered with tarps and again, I have not seen any nails anywhere (they also covered the pool just in case). I have watched as my neighbors beside me have their siding replaced - the company they are using has left ladders propped against the house and materials everywhere around the yard - I can assure you Shawn's crew would probably never do that - When they left at the end of each day, everything was extremely neat and organized - I felt like they treated my house like their own. They also replaced a large privacy window in the master bathroom - there was a small glitch in the thickness of the window so they had to add some trim and paint - wonderful job! They did a better job adding the trim that what the builder had put in originally I could not be more pleased with the work they have done. They deliver what they promise, they are professional, dedicated and have excellent communication with the customer. They do a final walkthrough to ensure everything is in order and that the customer is happy.

Shawn responded promptly and worked miracles with our unrealistic timeline. His team was very professional and they addressed all of our requests for correcting our exterior flaws of our homes original windows and masonite siding.

Throughout the entire process Shawn was on the phone with me (I happen to be out of town while he worked on my roof) explaining thoroughly in detail the issue, cause, how and why he repaired it in the manner he did. Shawn also took digital photos and text to me to explain the before and after. Shawn came over immediately, assessed the issue made the repair, took photos and submitted to me all while on the phone providing an explanation; left my residence and never asked for a dime! Simply amazing.

We had Shawn replace our roof several years ago and were very pleased with the quality of his work and professional manner. We had the same experience with the window. Shawn and Heath his office assistant are great to work with, always putting the customer first!

We had numerous quotes on a large leak in our roof above our garage. SHS was not the lowest, but responded the best and made us feel most comfortable. They were the only ones who wanted to see all areas (actually go in the attic) and to explain things exactly as they would do them. They also showed us a lot of their paperwork and had a binder that we could review all their documentation such as license and awards and history during the quote. The process for the quote and the scheduling was very easy to do, and the turn around was pretty fast as well. When the people repairing it arrived they got right to work. We did have to print off our invoice regarding the roofing sealant piece as they were not aware of that, but as soon as we showed it to them - they had no problems with it and did it right away. Maybe it was a fluke of communication that day but they responded so well it really was not an issue. The company was friendly and very quick. The entire experience was a good one.
