Another company came out twice and couldn't fix it. Southern figured out this tough task which no one else could figure out and it is not leaking anymore.

First let me say Shawn and Rob are great to work with - mistakes were made during the roof installation but they worked with me to complete the job to my satisfaction. The job was originally scheduled for earlier in the week but a high chance of rain postponed the job to Friday. The roof removal and installation occurred in 1 day using a crew of about 10 people. Blue tarps were placed over my wood deck and other places where debris was targeted to fall. Half the crew worked on one part of the roof while the other worked on a different section. One person was left in charge of the job and also worked on one of the teams. The mistakes: some smaller areas were missed when laying the underlayment, several of my gutters were damaged during the job, the crew was short 1 lead pipe collar and installed a previously used one on my roof, my recently painted siding was scuffed. Making it right: Rob conducted a thorough inspection of the roof and a small crew returned a few days later to remove shingles where no underlayment was found and installed the underlayment and new shingles; 3 sections of gutters were replaced; the siding was powerwashed and touch up painting performed. This could have been a much more frustrating experience but Shawn and Rob made it much less painful and fixed everything to my complete satisfaction. If I were to make one suggestion it would be to have more oversite of the work performed during the 1-day roofing job. I suspect the team would have been more careful and less likely to cut corners.

We were remodeling the exterior of our house including the roof. Shawn came promptly when we set up the appointment and got us on his schedule very promptly. We had extensive hail damage and there was some previous leakage around the fireplace and that was repaired as well. All the shrubs were covered with tarps to protect them and everything was cleaned up well when the job was done. Shawn uses a large crew, so it only took one day. He is very professional, as is his crew and we were completely satisfied with the work and would highly recommend him.

This was a complete remodel of the exterior of our house (see reports also under siding and roofing). Shawn came promptly when we called him and gave us an estimate along with some good ideas for the guttering. His crew did a great job, cleaned up well and everything is working well. We had several heavy rains immediately after the gutters were installed and they are really doing the job! We would highly recommend Shawn and his crew to anyone looking for high quality at a fair price.

The outside of our house was a mess and we re-did the roof, siding and gutters. Shawn came promptly when we called and gave us a number of good suggestions for this job. His quote was very reasonable compared to several others we received. We went to several previous jobsites and were happy with what we saw so asked him to get started. He has great crews. They were prompt every day, and cleaned up well after the work was done. Shawn checks in on his crews frequently and the quality of the work shows. The job took about a week and while we are still waiting for several backordered shutters, everything else was completed. We have had several bad experiences hiring contractors in the past, but after meeting with Shawn the first time, just had a good feeling about what we'd get. And boy, we got it The house looks wonderful! I'm proud to show it off now and would hire this company again as well as recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job.

Excellent. Very professional, timely and courteous. I felt their estimate was fair and that they would do quality work. I chose to go with another company that I had worked with previously but would have felt confident going with Southern Home otherwise.

Our neighborhood negotiated with several companies for a group price to do a number of roof replacements. SHS negotiated a good price and detailed the materials to be used and the work to be done in the contract. They were very professional and good to work with. They arrived on the scheduled day with a large crew of 10 or more and started work. They covered shrubery with tarps to protect it when removing the old roof and had a dumpster in the driveway. The property was cleaned and all debris in the dumpster each evening when they left. They had the new roof installed by the 2nd day and everything cleaned up. There was one mishap during the job. A bundle of shingles fell from the 2nd floor roof and went right through my back deck damaging 3 boards. They repaired the deck to my satisfaction using 3 deck boards approximately 12 feet long even though only a 2 foot section of the boards was destroyed. This matched the other boards in my deck. Overall they were great to work with and very professional deal with.

Sean was 1 of 4 companies I called to get estimates on replacing our roof. He was very friendly and professional. He took the time to educate me on different products available, how the work would be done and different types of shingles. He was the only one that didn't try to "sell me a roof". He educated me and let me make my own decision. He even came out and put a tarp over the leak so there wouldn't be any further rain damage before the roof could be replaced. His project leader Robert called me twice, first to let me know when to expect delivery of the supplies, to make sure putting the dumpster in the driveway was okay and how long our job would take and what steps they would take to protect my shrubs and gardens. The 2nd phone call was to let me know they could do our roof a day earlier if it was convenient for US not them. All the workers were neat, punctual and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Robert came back out the evening the job was finished to make sure that the clean up met our approval. The price of the job was very close in all 4 estimates but SHS's estimate included things that the other companies had as add-ons. It was Sean himself that was the reason we chose his company. Friendly, courteous, professional. He presented me with facts and let me make my own decision, instead of trying to sell me a roof.

Mr. Kalgren is very responsive to communications, and after we agreed upon a price and schedule, he performed the work as requested. He also provided me with a reasonable estimate for a roof replacement, which I plan to do early next year.

Excellent! The staff was incredibly responsive, knowledgable and no-nonsense. What was most impressive is that Shawn found and reserved the replacement siding I needed right on the spot at our initial visit. He even said, "If you don't go with me, have the company you go with call me so I can tell them what siding to use." That's impressive that he would go to that length just to make sure my needs were met. That's professionalism and that's why we chose him. And the quality of work was just as impressive. I would recommend Southern Home Services again without reservation.

We found a leak in one of our bedrooms. I searched Angie's List for a roofer. I choose Southern Home Services based on all of the super reports I read. I can concur with all of the good reports. Robert explained that the seal on our Vent Stack that is over that bedroom had rotted. He checked the three other vent stacks and found that one other had rotted as well. He explained that for only $15 more per stack I could get stack vent sealers that would last as long as my 30 year roof. We went with that and replaced the four stack sealers. Robert fully inspected our roof, replaced the few shingles that were missing and we had them clean our gutters.

The quote I originally received was for 3 days. When Robert arrived the morning the roofing was to take place, he said they would be finished in a day and a half. To my surprise, they finished that day as they had an extra large crew working on it and they stayed until it was complete instead of returning the next day. The entire area was thoroughly cleaned and I have yet to find a nail anywhere!

They arrived on time. They cleaned up well after they were done.

He was one of 5 roofers we selected for estimates. With my senior discount his price was the lowest and everything he promised he fulfilled 100%. It was one of the few times in my life that we got suck incredible service & quality. Had his estimate been a little higher and he was the second or third best price, I think that I still would have used him because of his projection of credibility which all proved to be 100% true.

Shawn and his crew were very professional. They showed up on time, performed the job extremely well, cleaned up and even worked in the rain to complete the job! We were extremely pleased with the quality and skill of the work and could not have asked for a better experience. Rob, the project manager, ensured the work and pace moved smoothly and quickly. We obtained 5 different estimates and after meeting Shawn we felt we had found an honest, sincere roofer that stood behind his work and would go the extra mile to ensure the customer was satisfied. Glad we decided to go with him and his company!

Shawn was very responsive to my initial call. He got us on the schedule quickly (within 3 wks) and they finished the roof in one day (after estimating 2-3 days). His project manager, Robert, was also very professional and responsive. We did have concerns about nails left after the project and Robert came and swept the area again. He also offered to come back if we had found any more nails.

Called about a leake I had in my sewing room, house is 36 years old, roof 25 years old. I knew is was time to have overall roof replaced, before I had other trouble. Company was very professional, crew removed old roofing, replaced bad wood, excellent job. I wish I had used Angie's List before instead of shody I CAN FIX IT ALL WORKERS.

They had one of the lowest bids. The crew who came was really professional, and did a very good job. They also cleaned up the place, once the job was done. I'm very satisfied with their service.

Rob called to say he was running early to give me an estimate, which was great. He did the work before his next appointment since we had the shingles and it would take a short time to do it all. Rob did a great job and cleaned up well. We also appreciated his picking up all the debris on the roof.

After signing the contract (FAXed it in) SHS called and assigned a person Rob who will be my contact for the project then about a week later I had bad news from my employer it looked like I was going to lose my employment Shawn the sales associate was very understanding and said if there was anything he could do to let him know and he would check back with me in about 3 months. Three months latter Shawn checked back with me and still I was not in a position to extend my finances. Then the first of the year I called Shawn and explained that everything is working out for my employment and I ask if the quote was still good and he said yes and I said let's do it. After signing the contract (FAXed it in) again SHS called and assigned a person Rob who will be my contact for the project, Rob asked what would be good time to start in about 2 weeks it will take about 3-4 days I said on Monday but I had some commitments come up and 3 days before starting I had to call and reschedule, Rob said no problem he would reschedule it for the next Wednesday. On Wednesday Rob was there and the dumpster and roofing material was dropped off and a crew of about 6 guys came out to start working, they worked from 8AM to 6PM. Every night before they left the yard was cleaned up all nails were picked up with old roofing and placed in the dumpster. On the first day there were 6 guys then all of a sudden I see these vans come out and before I knew it there were at least 14-16 guys working and the job was done completely in TWO days. As agreed in my contract if there was any bad plywood it would be replace and just as I expected the bad wood was where I had the leaks previously. They worked on Wednesday and Thursday Rob was there most of the time checking on the work and actually on top of the house up close. Rob wanted to do a walk around on Friday but I was not able to meet him so he came out on Saturday and I gave him the money for the work and before he came out a 10am the dumpster was removed. I thought the crew was doing a good job finding nails but on Saturday after Rob was gone my wife and were working in the back yard trimming shrubs when we started to find nails and staples, about 20-25 some were laying on top of the grass very visible.
