called for an estimate to rehang our gutters and Rob showed up as promised on Wednesday, June 8th. he said we would have an estimate in a couple of days. We didn't hear anything and called him the following monday. he again promised an estimate via email. we are still waiting.

We had hail damage to our roof and Rob worked with us to get the price right. He even placed 4x4 shingle swatches on our existing roof so we can pick a color. We were having a leak in the old roof so he got us on the schedule right away. The work was completed in one day and I liked the fact that they used 6 nails per shingle and hand nailed all.....no nail guns. At any time there were 8-10 workers busy on my home. They placed tarps over all landscaping and cleaned up so you couldn't tell they were even there. I am very happy with the whole experience.....thanks SHS.

Shortly after we called him, we made arrangements for him to come out. He came on time. He was a pleasure to do business with. We will definitely recommend him to others.

I did my due deligence and had three separate companies come out and provide estimates. Shawn was the first to return my call. He walked around the house with me and pointed out certain things and explained how it should be done the proper way. I did research before he came out, so I knew he was giving me good information. His price was the middle of the three quotes that I received, but based on his knowledge as he presented everything, I decided to go with him. Turns out this was definitely the right choice. The crew that works for Shawn showed up on time and worked hard each day they were there. Even through the frigid cold weather that week in December. I have gotten many compliments on the work that was done. Shawn is a general contractor, so I also called him back in April of this year (2011) to give me a quote to fix up my driveway. The job consisted of tearing out half of the driveway, removing tree roots and removing some of the huge slope at the bottom. Again, I received three individual quotes. Shawn's was the highest, but he was the only one that actually gave me the correct information when it came to telling me information about minimum code and other items. The other two companies that provided quotes had told me that minimum psi was 2500 and that there was no need to call utilities to have them mark for water lines etc. Based on my own research I found that minimum psi was 4000. Shawn knew all of this and actually recommended fixing the driveway exactly the way I had intended it to be done. And once again, a job well done. I just LOVE my new driveway and have also received many compliments on it. A JOB WELL DONE ON BOTH COUNTS TO SHAWN AND HIS CREW.

I do not remember the exact date the window was replaced, or the exact cost (I have approximated) , however, I cannot applaud enough Shawn and his crew. Excellent job done! They were efficient, professional and provided a quality job! We chose using SHS from a prior experience with them, where we had a roof leak - Shawn went up on the roof, took care of a few nail pops and did not even charge us! I would definitely use them again - extremely professional, prompt and do great work !

I obtained a few quotes from other companies, but then joined Angie's List to find a reputable roofing company. I was impressed with all of the positive reports on SHS. I first met with Shawn, who thoroughly explained all of the options. I hired them. I then met Robert, who kept me posted on what to expect and when the work would begin. He was prompt and got the work accomplished ahead of schedule. I am very glad I hired them. They were very reasonable and efficient. They are definitely interested in providing good customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Based on Angie's List ratings for this company, I called to get an estimate for replacing my hail-damaged roof. Shawn came out promptly to provide an estimate. While outside looking at the roof, he let me review a book containing licenses and proof of insurance. It also contained a long list of previous customers and the type of work done for each. A number of my neighbors were on the list. Rob, the project manager, called a few weeks later to schedule the work. The workers arrived promptly at 8:00 and began covering the bushes with tarps. Since ridge vents were being installed, they placed a tarp over items in my attic. A dumpster was delivered and placed in the driveway that morning. The old roof was removed and the new one installed. They 'hand' nail the roof; nail guns are not used. They finished the work in one day. The cleanup was phenomenal! Rob came back the next morning to see if everything was ok, to see if I had any questions and to get payment. The dumpster was picked up later that day. I had a geat experience wiht this company. I'm very pleased with the new roof.! They did an outstanding job!!! I will definitely keep them in mind for any future needs.

Rob came out to give us an estimate and to determine if the roof had been damaged by hail since many of our neighbors had similar damage. He was prompt in showing up, actually went up on the roof and then told us what he had found. He was honest about the amount of damage and suggested we contact our insurance company before proceeding. His estimate was the lowest of the two we received. He was very thorough in showing us his liability certificate and pictures of other roofs the company had replaced. I had to follow-up when I did not receive an e-mail as promised, but the owner of the company responded promptly within an hour as to a typo in the address and there were no future problems with communication. Because this was winter, the start of the project was delayed until the weather warmed up. Rob was very good about giving us enough notice as to when the job would take place. On the day the event was scheduled, the large crew showed up on time and proceeded to work. The job was finished in one day. The crew was very thorough in picking up the debris and I have only found one nail in the yard, while my neighbor, who used another roofer, was constantly finding nails, so I would give this company an A+ in cleanup. There were two problems encountered. The first was that the truck carrying the dumpster drove off the driveway and left a big rut in the yard. I pointed out the problem to Rob who agreed that it should be fixed and that he would fill in the dirt and replant grass. I withheld some of the final payment until that was completed, but Rob personally came out and fixed the rut and spread seed and straw to fix it in a timely manner. The second was discovered a few days later when it rained and water came over the gutter at the front door. Rob and his foreman came out within a day or two and recut the shingles to fix the problem. Again, great responsiveness.

The project went well from beginning to end. I would highly recommend SHS for roof replacement.

From the initial phone contact to the estimate to the measurements, to the installation . It was the most pleasant experience I have ever had with a contractor. I had a problem Bay window that have had fixed before but wasn't really done right. Shawn described to me how he would fix it and from that I could tell he knew what he was doing. He and Herbert were very considerate while measuring and installing taking off their shoes as to not track dirt in the house. Impressive!! The job was done the way it was described and the cost was not the most nor the least expensive. But the service was exceptional, right down to the clean up.

I met with Shawn who provided me with the quote. What impressed me about Shawn was his professionalism and patience with me. He took his time in explaining the various options available to me in regards to the roofing material. I didn't feel pressured into making a decision one way or the other. After deciding to use their services, his crew arrived within the estimated timeframe and replaced the roof. The job was completed in a timely manner and the area was thoroughly cleaned. Southern Homes Serivces was available to answer any questions or concerns before and after completion of the work. I would highly recommend their services!

I chose this roofer because I had a small leak several years ago and found them on Angie's list. They came out and fixed it for nothing, asking only that I remember them when the time came to replace the roof. Well, who could forget that kindness? They did a brilliant job, replacing a number of sheets of rotted plywood. Their crew was professional, thorough and FAST!! We have a two story 3,000 square foot home with an attached sunporch. My next door neighbor even called later that night to say WOW! They moved everything off my back deck, covered everything with tarps and even took special care not to disturb a nesting cardinal and her eggs. Once complete, they traversed the outside of the house several times looking for stray debris as well as with a large magnet to pick up nails (important to me because of the dogs). Overall, they were terrific, did the job for exactly what they said and they returned several days later to see how I liked it...highly recommed this company!

The job went very well. Crew appeared at about 7:30 AM. There were as many as 13 here at one time. A foreman was always present as well as Rob (management) who was here for the start, a few times during the day and at the end. Estimate was most accurate. Unexpected rainstorm popped up, but they were prepared with tarps to cover roof where needed. Cleaned up very well including to trips around property with magnet bars to gather up any stray nails. All waste was placed in dumpster they provided. Management of the job was outstanding. Total job was completed in one day.

Painless!! Shawn the CEO responded quickly, the work was scheduled to be done within two weeks, and the crews arrived a day early in the trim situation. Jobs finished quickly with minimum disruption, and the area was thoroughly cleaned up when they were through. No delays, no excuses, no little surprises that cost extra to fix, a fine looking job I highly recommend these folks

I don’t remember how much I spent. I’m sure the price was fine and fair. He was very professional. He got the work done very quickly. We’ve had some pretty bad storms and we haven’t had any issue since. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

The guy from the company showed up on time and looked at the roof. He said he will write the report and email it to me. He did email the report to me the next day. We were able to close the deal because of them. They were very good in getting the paper work done. They are good about keeping in contact with you and helping you. They were supposed to be here again last week, but for some reason they did not show up. They have been very good to deal with so far. They were professional and they have been so good so far.

On time, no change in pricing, work performed as promised - would definitely use them in future.

I had several estimates and Shawn's professionalism, knowlege and price were at the top. His product was also superior. Shawn closly monitored the project from start to finish. His team was excellent as they all had years of experience working together. I could not be more happy with the result . I especially love my new garden window.

I had water spilling over a gutter and washing down a wall. They diagnosed the problem and came back and repaired some sheet metal flashing. That didn't take care of the problem, so they came back again and fixed it. Price was reasonable, everything was very professional. I was very happy with the service provided.
