Smitty's Residential Painting

The wallpaper was removed in one day. The walls were also prepped that day. The next day the walls were sanded. It made quite a mess! Before they started painting they cleaned everything up and put down clean tarps. The painting was done that day and we were very happy. They were a pleasure to work with and we will use them again.

The guy Smitty had do the exterior power wash had to come back because he didn't do a very good job We had taken wallpaper down and wanted Smitty to remove remaining glue from walls and do any repairs needed to walls before painting. After he arrived 2 other guys came and it didn't appear that he knew them. He did tell them what needed to be done and they were all working. I left and came back later in the day and he said they would be finished by the end of the day. That seemed much too quick to get everything done. You could see where the wallpaper border was at the top of the wall. He thought it would be fine after complete drying but it wasn't. He came back twice to work on that as well as an area on the ceiling where a light fixture had been that was still showing after he painted it. There was some improvement. Under the chair rail is where the wall needed to have glue removed and possible repairs but it looks more like a distressed look now. Very uneven and when the sunlight hits it you really notice it. I just didn't ask him to come back anymore because it was just too frustrating. I was ready to be done with the whole thing. I also had some sickness in the family and was traveling some. The reason we hired him was because we weren't sure the best way to accomplish the glue removal and I shouldn't have assumed that he would although he assured us he could. I told him I thought I wanted egg shell paint but he said no, I should use flat. That's not very easy to wash off when you need to. That should have told me something. I just was not happy with much of anything that he did. I hope he has improved as I see he is still advertising in the Matthews paper which is where I got his info. I was not a member of Angie's back then. Maybe I shouldn't do a review after all this time but after getting your email I just felt I should.

It was $5000 for the whole interior of the house, including the paint. It went very well. He even did some work while we were on vacation and I trusted him enough. I have an affinity for _16.39. His price was good and it was the best we had. He came right away to make the estimate; we settled on a date and that's when he started.

A painter who emails....how rare is that?. Smitty is a first rate guy who is professional, experienced, affordable. He was reliable, dependable, and did a great job for us. We will definitely call him again in the future and hope he can fit us in. We really don't want to work with anyone else!

It went phenomenal; the guy is the best from a quality and cost perspective that I have ever used. I will use him again in the future.
