Description of Work: After having to call to get the work scheduled a site visit was conducted. During the site visit although it was determined my roof was unsuitable for the Big Deal, when my wife asked, she was not told the work would not be performed. Rather, the site visit used several minor issues from a hail storm in April 2010 to try and make the argument that the roof (which was installed in November 2010) was damaged in May 2014 and needed replaced. He insisted that we call our insurance company and have him present to negotiate the work. When we told him that this was not acceptable and we just wanted the minor flashing work done, we received an inflated quote of $900. We know it is inflated given another vendor providing a big deal for this work at $350 and our trusted general contractor quoting this work plus extensive dry wall repairs at $700. | |Given the amount of feet dragging involved, we did not learn the big deal we purchased was unusable until after 30 days had expired. To receive a refund, I had to dispute the transition through PayPal. Approximate cost of service 49.00.

The allegation that we were unable to perform the Big Deal while on the property is incorrect. During the appointment we conducted a complete exterior inspection of the home and a partial inspection of the roof, caulked exposed nails on the roof, and sealed around the furnace vents. Unfortunately, we were unable to access a significant portion of the roof due to the steepness of the roof. The big deal offer is for roof up to an 8/12 pitch and the customer's roof was greater than 8/12. Since there was limited access, we offered the customer a refund in addition to performing the services. The refund provided to the customer is transacted through Angie's List directly. Our company is not involved in this portion of the sale. During the inspection, hail damage to the soft metal accessories was identified. The Signature Exteriors representative brought this to the attention of the homeowner during the appointment and explained that the extent of damage warranted the consideration of contacting their insurance company. He explained that since he was limited to inspecting only a portion of the roof it was probable that damage existed on the additional slopes as well. The repair estimate provided to the customer was more extensive than "minor repairs". As such, the quote the customer received for $350 from another company most likely did not include the same scope of repair as proposed by our company.
