Shutter Shop

We have had several experiences with Shutter Shop over the years. Owner Winston Goode installed wide beach shutters throughout our 2000 sf townhome investment property 20 years ago, and they still look fantastic with no operational glitches or sagging. To this same property we added a large round window shutter—very difficult—same professionalism and quality, which is a big plus when it comes time to sell. Most recently, we worked with Winston to provide the same contemporary shutters in several rooms of our latest home. His instincts were spot on, and we are delighted with the results. It went great. They did a good job. They showed up on time. The price was very affordable. They have come back to correct some typical issues. They are extremely professional and just have a really good product. I highly recommend them.

William, the sales rep., was on time and very courteous. He was very thorough in his explanation of what options were available in the shutter itself and how they could be mounted. I thought I wanted an interior mount, but he save me from making a huge mistake by explaining that if I went with that style mount I would not be able to tilt my window sashes in for cleaning. The paint on the shutters was matched perfectly to my existing window moldings. TIP: It really helps them if you know exactly what paint was used on your trim work or can give them a sample piece of wood with the paint on it. The shutters were installed within the 6-7 week time frame given. The installation work went very quickly with good workmanship. There was one minor oversight that was quickly corrected. All of our windows are double hung with the exception of one casement window. Normally the the sill forms the bottom part of the shutter box. The casement window had no sill, so the shutter needed a bottom finishing piece. The salesman for got to note that on the work order. The casement shutter was still able to be installed and they came back a week to add the bottom finishing piece.

When I took the panel in, they estimated it would take around an hour at $50/hour and that it would be ready in four business days. After two business days, they called and said it was ready at just $50. The work was exactly as I needed.

This was an excellent experience. I met with William on 10/12/06, and he was prompt, courteous, and very professional. He was knowledgeable about his product and provided some picture which helped me with my decision. He looked at the shutters that we already had and was able to help me select the correct shutter that would fit in with our other shutters. He worked very hard to find the correct paint so that it would match the trim in those rooms. The estimated time of completion was 6 to 8 weeks, and I enjoyed the surprise of receiving my shutters in 5 weeks!! I have forgotten the installation persons name, but he was also helpful and courteous. He did a great job installing the shutters, and we have had no problems! They look great!!

ON TIME, COURTEOUS, AND REASONABLE.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT WE HAVE USED THE SHUTTER SHOP WITH BOTH TIMES BEING A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. THE FIRST TIME THEY MADE PLANTATION SHUTTERS FOR OUR ENTIRE HOUSE. WE LIVED IN THAT HOUSE FOR 6 YEARS AND THE SHUTTERS LOOKED AS GOOD AND FUNCTIONED AS WELL AFTER THOSE 6 YEARS AS THE DAY THEY WERE INSTALLED. THIS TIME THEY MADE PLANTATION SHUTTERS FOR A THREE-DOOR SLIDING GLASS DOOR IN OUR NEW HOUSE. THEY ARE PROMPT WITH CALLING BACK, ON TIME WITH APPOINTMENTS AS WELL AS COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. THEIR WORKMANSHIP IS SUPERB! THEY WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE US WITH SOUND COUNSEL ON HOW TO ADDRESS OUR NEEDS AND WANTS AND DELIVER EXACTLY WHAT WE ENVISIONED. THEY STATED UP FRONT HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE AND DELIVERED ON TIME. I WOULD NEVER CONSIDER CALLING ANOTHER SHUTTER COMPANY.

WE LOVE IN ON OLDER HOUSE (BUILT IN 1920'S) WITH ODD SIZED WINDOWS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD PUT PLANTATION SHUTTERS IN ALL OF THE ROOMS BUT THE BEDROOMS AND WE WANTED TO FINISH THE JOB. TOOK A SHUTTER TO SHUTTER SHOP & MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE THEM COME BY LATER THAT WEEK TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. WILLIAM CAME BY LATER THAT WEEK, MEASURED MY 3 WINDOWS AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE. ESTIMATE INCLUDES INSTALLATION AND PAINT COLOR OF YOUR CHOICE. SHUTTERS DELIVERED IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND WILLIAM INSTALLED THEM IN ABOUT 2 HOURS. THIS WAS SUCH A SIMPLE EVENT FOR US, OTHER SHUTTER SHOPS HAD SHIED AWAY FROM DOING THIS B/C WE NEEDED CUSTOM MADE SHUTTERS AND THEY SEEMED TO WANT TO WORK IN HOUSES THAT HAVE STANDARD SIZE WINDOWS. WILLIAM IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT SHUTTERS AND GREAT TO WORK WITH.

COULDN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS. EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THOROUGH. THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT IS SUPERB AND THEY USE THE PAINT YOU SPECIFY RATHER THAN TRYING TO MATCH THE COLOR ONLY.
