Sherrill Structural Repair

It all went really well. We had another initial estimate that were exceedingly high, and indicative of more serious repairs needed - but after talking to Joe and the team they explained the difference in how the house was constructed that led to the problems - and a straightforward way to repair that was much more cost effective than my other estimate, The job went well - it took a few days to do the repairs and some time to wait for the inspectors to come by. But the end result is great, and my floors no longer sag! They cleaned up under the crawl space and put down a new vapor barrier. I would definitely recommend, Joe and the team were responsive the whole time and kept me informed.

They are awesome, Joe was highly recommended from an inspector, and Joe did not disappoint me, He got the job done and he did everything he said he would do and some extra. The company was dependable and happy to work with, Joe Sherrill and his wife Brook was a pleasure to work with.

They told me what they are going to do and gave me pictures of what they have done and proof that they did the job appropriately and they were very friendly. I will recommend them to anybody.

Joe came out to look at some rot in my kitchen floor. He could easily have sold me on a lot of work but gave me an honest assessment that I didn't need to hire him and could do the work myself. Will definitely call back again if I really do need this kind of work done.

Joe was professional, responsive and came out to our home twice (!) to give an honest assessment of crawl space. Mind you, these were free assessments! Joe reviewed a structural engineer's report and gave us his honest opinion. Would call again.

We needed foundation work done on our 2 story house. I researched companies through Angie's List and had compiled a list of four companies to contact. Two companies never even responded and one did only after I sent a follow-up message a month after my first contact. Only one, Sherrill Structural Repair, got back to me almost immediately. I was initially a bit set off that I would have to contact a structural engineer on my own to first assess the situation before Sherrill would do any work. Looking back, however, that was very smart, as having an independent engineer do a full report that I could trust rather than question whether they were just trying to sell me on foundation work I didn't need, as the engineer wasn't 'connected' with Sherrill. Communication was excellent, and Bobbi, the administrative assistant, was always extremely kind and responsive. The procedure - both prior to the work, during and after, was explained in full detail, so I felt I knew exactly what was going on. When the job was completed, they left the site in excellent condition - perhaps better than it was originally. The only thing I had wished, was that the work (since foundation work can be expensive!) could have been financed (e.g. a short-term loan, etc.) to spread out the costs, but Sherrill was very understanding and accommodating. Not only did they secure the foundation, but made a referral to a painter who could patch and fix drywall cracks incurred as a result of the foundation that had shifted over time. That painter was also very responsive and did an excellent job. I sincerely hope I never need to use Sherrill for foundation work in the future (I trust everything is fixed now!) but should anyone I know should need foundation work, I would definitely refer them to Sherrill Structural Repair.

We called a half dozen companies, and most never responded. We received a return call within a day from this company and Joe was at our house two days later to look at the crack. He said that it was a fairly easy fix, but that our parquet floor tiles would have to be removed and likely couldn't be reused. He suggested that we wait until a buyer makes an offer, and get the fix done once they decide what kind of flooring they'd like in the area to replace the parquet. He didn't use any pressure at all, and seemed to be looking our for my best interests, which I greatly appreciated. I won't hesitate to use or recommend that the buyer use this company to repair the crack. I was very impressed with his professionalism and honest assessment!

Joe was the only one of three top rated firms who committed to come out within a week. One of them said they would not come out until a structural engineer did an assessment and the other said it would be at least three weeks before they could fit us in. Joe came out to give us a free estimate and determined that the cracks were in fact normal given the house's age and did suggest a foundation problem. Within a few hours he sent a report to that effect. I tried to reimburse him for his time but he refused. Joe is an all around class act!

Very well! People were so nice from the time I called for an appointment, the estimate, and then the service provided. The workers were so nice and very courteous. They were also very nice to my dogs, which was important, during the job.

Joe and his crew were friendly and honest. They got the work done in a timely manner and kept me well informed. They also sent me pictures of the completed work since I am not able to get under my house to lool myself.

Joe and his team did excellent work that passed city and engineer inspections and their customer service was great!

Floor is solid and doors are aligned. The results were beyond what I expected.

Joe really knows what he's talking about so I felt confident that he could read the engineer's report and do the work correctly. He did everything on the report and more and came in a little under his initial price quote! The project took several days and when he was done he had the city and the engineer come out and inspect his work. The engineer have us a letter that the work had been done correctly and the city inspector also gave it the thumbs up. It was important to me that we were using someone who did things right and by the book, that's what we got with Sherrill Structural Repairs.

Joe and team were great. Joe promptly came out to inspect and provide quote. He is very knowledgeable and I felt confident he would do a good job. I was pleasantly surprised they were able to do all the work from underneath the house and didn't have to tear through the floor. A competitor told me we would have to gut two bathrooms for them to be able to do the job. Joes quote was less than two other reputable competitors and he did more work than they quoted. The job took 4 days with final inspection the 5th day. Everything passed inspection and joe provided 10-15 pictures of the work under house and a warranty that we can transfer to new owner if/when we sell the house.
