We used Case Remodeling to help us design/build a new kitchen. We loved working with them from the beginning to the end! We researched several companies before choosing Case. Their business model worked best for us and we really like that Brad was involved from the very beginning of the project. That being said, we were very pleased with other members of the Case team as well.. All of the individuals that we worked with have incredible integrity and very good work ethic. We trusted them in our home whether we were there or not. We spent several months designing the kitchen with Chelsea. She was very patient with us. She also came up with some creative ideas that we would not have thought of on our own. Even after we decided on the design plans and construction began she still made herself available to us at any point. Once construction began, our project took about 6 weeks to complete. It was finished on the date that we needed it to be completed by (other companies that we got estimates from were telling us it was going to take 90 days to do the work). The price that we agreed upon prior to the beginning of the work did not change at all! The project went very smoothly. There were only 2 very minor issues along the way (one was an outlet being placed too high after the tile was put up and the other was regarding the placement of the dishwasher switch) and as soon as I brought it to Tom's attention (Tom being the lead on the project) it was immediately handled without a second thought. Tom also did a fantastic job scheduling the electrician, plumber, etc. He plans ahead very well so there was very little lag time between different workers/contractors that were needed. His work is meticulous and he and his crew were professional and respectful the entire time they were in our home. We will certainly use them again and highly recommend them!

I called Wednesday 2/19 to schedule an appointment for a flooring installation estimate in a condo I purchased. I set up an appointment for 8am 2/20 with Sean. I set my alarm this morning and arrived at the condo at 7:45 and waited. and waited. at 8:15, I began a painting project and was there for another hour. at 9:30, I left to go to another appointment. I was never contacted at any time to explain why the missed appointment or to reschedule. I contacted another company, and they will be performing the work this weekend.

CASE was always available when we needed to consult about the project, request changes and additions. CASE and subcontractors employed by CASE were professional in all relationships and in the quality of their work. Cost was in line with the quality of materials and their workmanship. We used CASE several years ago on a bathroom remodel, and would use them again for further remodeling or handyman service. I highly recommend that friends and neighbors get an estimate from CASE when they are considering such projects. Then you can decide for yourself, if this level of service is what you want.
Description of Work: Drew up plan taking into account our desires. Complete kitchen remodel. New tile floor and backsplash, granite countertops, cabinetry. Demo one closet to make more counter space. Arranged electrician, plumber, painter, etc. In addition, removing carpet and painting living room, dining room, entryway, and hallway.

We interviewed several contractors and did extensive online research before choosing Case to handle our kitchen remodel. We chose them because they quoted a reasonable price (neither the highest nor the lowest), seemed professional, and we liked them. We still think they're nice people who want to do the right thing, but we've come to the conclusion they lack the talent to do so. While Case's planning and management skills were impressive, they weren't enough to overcome poor execution. The bottom line is that no matter how well-intended, nearly every single task they performed required two or three attempts. Even then, they didn't always get it right. Case initially installed a farm sink into a base cabinet manufactured for that purpose and for some reason used vertical 2x4s nailed into the floor of the cabinet rather than the one piece horizontal wooden support provided by the cabinet manufacturer. Aside from looking completely amateurish, it eliminated any under sink storage potential. The second installer who came suggested our expectations were unreasonable because it is what you do with 'new construction.' We reminded him that at the time of their first attempt, it was new construction. He re braced the sink with a steel horizontal brace/bracket system. It looks better and we regained the lost storage. However, he couldn't do anything to correct the original improper sink placement (set too far in and crooked) without risking damage to the stone countertop. Our cabinet people ordered new trim at their own expense and made three additional trips in an effort to help camouflage the improper placement. Case's first and second attempts at our subway tile backsplash behind our range were so poorly done (large gaps, crooked lines, uneven placement) they had to be removed - drywall and all - and reinstalled. The installer blamed the lousy job on the plumbing that ran behind the backsplash surface. That 'defective surface' was previously a pass-through (i.e., no pipes) to our den that just a few days earlier he had framed in and drywalled. A different installer was sent for the third attempt. He did a nice job. Our range hood is flanked by two open front cabinets. The screws used to install the hood were too long, and thus noticeably protruded through the adjoining open cabinets. We agreed that if Case would change out the screws and spackle the holes, we'd touch up the holes using paint we'd purchased for our crown moulding. Not sure what motivated the second installer to fill the holes with tile grout, but we've not wanted to sand off the big swatches of contrasting grout for fear we'll damage the painted finish of the cabinets. This was our third kitchen remodel, so we know from experience not to sweat the small stuff. The other three were in different cities or we'd have used the same contractor. If our dissatisfaction were limited to minor frustrations with Case (e.g., missing a connection on the warming oven (prompting two service calls - one for the appliance rep and one for the electrician who missed the connection), multiple attempts to get the gas line to maintain pressure, twice neglecting to order replacement tile, and failing to pick up the grout prior to coming to grout), this could easily have been a recommendation rather than a warning. This experience went well beyond the small stuff. You might get lucky with Case and get someone who gets it right the first time, but, judging from our experience, the odds won't be in your favor. Do you want to risk it?
Description of Work: Case handled our kitchen remodel with the exception of the tear-out, cabinet installation and installation of our range and refrigerator. They framed and drywalled a former pass through, patched a small section of our wood floor where the new island footprint differed from the , and ran a new gas line. They also installed a microwave, warming oven, range hood, dishwasher, sink/faucet/disposal, under cabinet lighting, and tile backsplash.

We are sorry this client did not have a positive experience. As always, we take ownership of our missteps and work hard to make them right. As our 9 year track record as an Angie's List Super Service award winner demonstrates, choosing Case is not a roll of the dice as this client unfairly suggests. This experience was not indicative of our standards which we are always fine tuning with policy and personnel to maintain the legacy we have worked so hard to build.

Overall, Case did a satisfactory job with a rip and replace bathroom remodeling but I had expected more, especially based on their former reviews. The workers were nice and competent but the attention to detail was lacking. (Example ? Not raising the towel bars before painting.) It appeared they were working from a defined script and did not deal with contingencies. In addition, they left paint over-spray and groves in my driveway where they had setup their shop. More of an issue than workmanship was their business practices. In the initial estimate, we were clear that painting was to be included and they provided an estimated price range. After having a [very pleasurable] meeting with Chelsea to pick out the materials, the quote came back at the top end of the range. The high quote came after we avoided high-end and custom items. Plus the quote did not include the painting and we were told that would have to be contracted separately. Along with the quote we were told they would schedule the work after they got the lead times from the manufacturer. Over five weeks later they had not provided any follow-up with us. We only got on the schedule after I made a comment to the painting subcontractor (rated separately) who called the office and voila, the next day Case was back in contact and we were now on the schedule. When a small scheduling issue arose, I asked for a small change and had to wait four days for a flippant non-response. I should have insisted in the contract on paying the last check after acceptance, not when they considered they were complete.

Contracted with Case to provide remodeling services for existing stair railings and balusters throughout our 2-story residence. Initial walk-through was with Adam who brought in personnel to select and provide the new railings, balusters and stain. Everyone involved provided excellent ideas as to how blend new railings and balusters with existing flooring and fixtures. The work was started soon afterwards and my wife and I could not be happier with the results. The stair specialist who did the work, worked extremely hard and was incredibly diligent in his efforts, making sure every piece fitted the way it needed to provide the ultimate results. At the start it was noted that some changes had to be made in the approach to the upstairs floor. These were agreed to and were provided at no further expense to the project. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone who is considering additions or changes to any aspect of their stairs.

Tom, the lead carpenter, did a great job, and all of the work was completed on time and on budget. Chelsea was very helpful in making color choices and selecting appliances, counters and cabinets. I'm very happy with the results, which have really transformed the space. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Case or to use them again for another job.
Description of Work: Case Remodeling did a complete kitchen renovation of my 15 year old kitchen, as well as refinishing wood floors in the kitchen and throughout the first floor. Chelsea, the kitchen designer, worked with me to come up with a completely new layout, since the poor layout of the existing kitchen was one of the major problems I was seeking to address. In addition to the design, Case provided and installed new kitchen cabinetry, counters, lighting, fixtures, paint and plumbing. New appliances were installed. I had the first consultation with Case in February. Work began in May and took about 5 weeks to complete.

We also used them two years ago and then we got an estimate from them about a month ago. The first time, they charged us between $300 and $500 and then the second time, it was between $150 and $200. They provided interior carpentry work for us during the first time. They were replacing and repairing moldings for us. We were not as pleased with their work on the dryer vent as we were with the first project. They are very efficient and very good at getting the job done. However, for smaller jobs, they are probably too expensive. But if you have a large job, they are very good at getting it done for the right price. The quality of their service is pretty good. Their responsiveness is also really good. I would use them again in the future but only for specific things.

Everything went very smoothly. Daniel did a great job. He's very professional and his work is meticulous. He also cleans up at the end of every day. Sub contractors time was coordinated so that things went smoothly. Case is very helpful in ordering cabinets, etc. and choosing and coordinating woods and colors. Everything except our lighting, ceiling fans, cabinet hardware, and appliances were chosen at their showroom. They also made suggestions about things that we had not thought about before we potentially made mistakes. Bathrooms had new sinks and cabinets installed along with floor tile. Tile included a hallway, entrance foyer, and laundry room. New faucets in all baths and exhaust fans installed in two baths. An HVAC supply was relocated. New shower doors were installed in one bathroom. Wall paneling was removed from 1/2 bath and replaced with drywall. New doors for one bathroom cabinet were personally made by Daniel on his own time. Several existing doors were trimmed for a better fit. All electrical was changed to be more convenient and brought up to code. The kitchen had 2 walls removed, hardwoods added and blended with dining room and living room hardwoods. Carpet was removed from living and dining room and hardwoods refinished including stairs and upstairs hallway. HVAC supply relocated. All new cabinets, sink, faucet, backsplash, island and counter tops were included in the kitchen. Two new doors were installed upstairs. All electrical outlets in 4 bedrooms were changed to be independent from wall switch. New lighting installed in kitchen and dining room along with 5 ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living room. An attic tent was installed and outdoor flood lights. New wiring and breaker box were installed and brought up to code. Living room, dining room, kitchen, foyer, and walls up to and including upstairs hallway were painted. Old appliances and trash was hauled away.

Case gave a fair quote and they were honest about what they do best in declining to bid on the painting I also needed done. The closet was built with minimal mess. The granite installers cut the holes in the granite for the master bath faucets too close to the backspash even though I had the faucets for them to use to measure. So the plumber could not install the faucets and hook up the sinks that day, and he was not available for a week. I had to go buy new faucets that would fit. All in all, I would still recommend Case because at least they don't disappear on you like so many contractors do, and you pay in installments.

As is usual for scheduling work to be done in a home, the occupants have to rearrange their schedules, often an effort that exceeds that of moving heaven and earth. Wednesday, August 14th at 9am was written on the calendar, but no one from Case Remodeling showed up. By 9:30am no one hadcalled to acknowledge being late for the set appointment. I called the office manager, Logan Ertz to inform him that no one had shown up and no one had called to let us know they were runnng late. I asked where the worker was. Logan said, and I quote, "Oh, that's a good question." At 10:00am the worker called to say he was "stuck on a job and thought he'd be there in an hour or so" but he wasn't sure. I called Logan back to explain my frustration. One hour and I'm stuck waiting on someone and Logan says, "It's not my responsibility to keep track of my employees." Not your responsibility, I say? But you scheduled the appointment. Do you not follow up? Does no one take responsibility? No one is accountable for making a promise to a customer and then keeping it? Logan Ertz is the office manager, yet he does not hold himself accountable and does not hold his employees accountable for staying in touch with the customer, especially when knowing that the set appointment will be 2 hours late. All Logan could offer was a reschedule of the appointment. I had to cancel the entire job because there was no way I was going to rearrange my schedule on another day knowing Logan and his employees at Case Remodeling do not hold themselves accountable for the customer's time. Perhaps Case Remodeling should be billed for the time I had to take off work to wait on them.
Description of Work: About 10 days ago we hired Case Remodeling to do 3 different jobs in our home. We agreed on a time and the office manager, Logan Ertz, sent an email confirming the time and date; 8/14 at 9am. This is where his responsibility stops as the office manager.

Case Remodeling would like to, again, apologize to this homeowner. Our carpenter was running long on his earlier project but tried his best to notify the homeowner he was behind schedule. The homeowner did not answer her phone and did not respond to our voicemails. Nevertheless we apologize for the inconvenience we caused the client but unfortunately sometimes hiccups happen on projects which cause them to run long.

I worked with Scott who worked on the project that's being done. He was easy to work with. I feel like he's honest, conscientious, responsive and very knowledgeable. They provided good quality work. However, I initially got an estimate on what would be done at our house. And then, when the time came to start all the services, he got much more details that made it more expensive than the initial estimate. That's probably wonderful, but that's a new experience for me. It's more expensive than I thought it would. They did quality and complete work, but it's really a learning process for me. It was really expensive, but the work was really good! I would absolutely use them again in the future.

It went great. Case did exactly what they said they would do. They were on time and on budget. They kept us up to date on all aspects of the project at all times. Not including design time, the actual construction of our remodel took a little over 5 weeks. Our project included new hardwood and tile flooring, cabinets, countertops, lighting, appliances, as well as new drywall in the mudroom. They also took down part of a wall between our kitchen and our dining room. Their great lead carpenter, Tom, also built a window seat for us and cubbies in our mudroom. When a few snags came up, as they do in all projects, Tom handled them with ease and minimal involvement on our part. The project came in on budget with the only small increases being from changes that we made during the project. Although they were not our cheapest bidder, we felt they were well worth the cost because they were so professional and organized. Case uses subcontractors for the electrical, plumbing, flooring, and painting, but they have the same lead carpenter on site every day to manage the project and the subs. All of the subs were professional and seemed to do a good job. Everyone from Case was also mindful and kind to our dog and our small children - which is really nice when you have contractors in your house every day for five weeks! I would definitely use them again!
Description of Work: Renovated our kitchen and our mudroom from top to bottom. It was a turnkey project with Case helping us from the design phase until the punch list was completed.

It took him several hours to put in a garage door opener, and it did not open the door all the way. I called and they sent somebody else out. He was able to fix it. So, I was happy with the service as of the second time because it did take four hours the first time, and it cost me quite a bit. They had to come out and fix it the second time around. There was an additional charge on the $79 big deal because that only covered two hours. So, I had to pay for another two hours. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars plus the $79. This was the first time I used them. I was not impressed by the first guy, but the second guy was fine. I do not really have an impression. I would probably recommend them to family and friends.

Description of Work: We called many companies for quotes for multiple jobs in my new house. Case returned my call promptly, showed up on time and was very professional during the review process. We are waiting to see how the bid comes in but our experience was very positive to date.
