Overall, an excellent job. We are very pleased with the work. They were on time daily and let us know in advance if they were going to be delayed. Their estimate was higher than some of the others we received, but we felt their expertise and approach to project management was worth it. They subbed the electrical, drywall, HVAC and insulation work. All of the subs provided quality service. We had a post-construction issue with a leaky HVAC line which was quickly repaired.

Brad came out promptly and gave an estimate that was reasonable, and did not try to oversell us by replacing things that were still in good condition. We agreed to have the work done. The materials were delivered one day and the work completed the next day. The worker was friendly and knowledgeable. We were very pleased with the outcome.

I purchased this service on an Angie's List special--two hours for the price of one. Had to change date several times, and they were always accommodating and pleasant Handyman who came was polite, friendly, helpful, and professional, and accomplished a lot. This was a really great value at sale price, and I was very satisfied with repairs. I plan to have them back next month for more repairs at regular price.
Description of Work: Performed several small and annoying jobs for me--opened stuck drawer in dresser, took down a couple of light fixtures for cleaning and replaced them, removed/replaced vent cover on cooktop exhaust for cleaning, cleaned debris off roof and checked for damaged shingles, adjusted locks on three doors, etc. He even suggested other repairs to use up the full two hours.

I e-mailed the request Thursday afternoon. Scott called that afternoon and came to the house on Friday. He reviewed the problems, took photos and we determined the repairs that needed to be done, including correcting some other badly built conditions. At my request, he indicated a "ball park" cost of $2500 to $3000. On Monday morning, he called and said "his boss" said all they would do would be replace the entire deck, at a "ball park" cost of $25,000. I call that "bait and switch." I've now wasted 5 days on Case, and still have to find someone who will do the necessary repairs.

Response from ReVision Design/Remodeling
We were asked to repair a deck that had already partially collapsed. After further review of the existing conditions of the deck which had not been constructed to code, we felt that attempting to repair the deck would not prevent it from a possible collapse again in the future. We stand behind our work, and would not accept the liability of making a repair that would not correct the overall problem of the deck being unsafe. We provided a free consultation, and upon further internal consultation decided the only option was to replace the deck. We are sympathetic to the client's needs to get the deck repaired as quickly as possible, but we make no apologies for passing on a repair project that would not remove the risk of injury to the client or their family.

I have used Case Handyman on 3 separate occasions and have been very pleased each time. The To Do List is varied and long; yet every time I call Case Handyman the list is completed. Case Handyman sent Daniel to our house each time. Daniel arrived at the appointed time. We walk through the To Do List and he advises me on the best method of getting the problem addressed. He uses his time efficiently and the work area is always clean. His work is excellent and I will continue to use Case Handyman and highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Case Handyman came out and replaced faucets, fixed leaky faucets, replaced wood rot on an outside door frame and the garage door, fixed and sealed the gutter and replaced wood trim around the gutter and down spout.

I work from home and spend most of my day on the phone so I put on the form that email was the best way to get a hold of me. They made initial contact with me via email but immediately asked me for a phone number. I explained to them that I could very rarely get to the phone during the day and email would be my preference of contact. I told them if they could not accomodate that then I would have to find someone else to do the work. This did not seem like an unreasonable request. I received a note back from them saying that it would be best for me to look elsewhere as communicating this way would make it too difficult??? I went to the next handyman on the list - this gentleman not only had NO issue communicating via email - he showed up, quoted a few jobs and got every one of them - I am now very happy!!

John promptly showed up at 8am to begin his work. The biggest concern for me was gettig the shower taken care of. When he saw the shower he must of thought I was crazy. He explained to me that the repairs were not as great as I had thought or been told. He would not need to regrout the entire shower. From what I understand, that saved me $300 up front. He quoted me 2 hours to fix grout and recaulk the shower. After learning he had time leftover for me, I quickly added to his list the guest bath, dining room window sill, front door and the mirror. He explained the process and materials needed to fix what was requested. His time quoted for the projects included his visit up to lowes for parts. All was done in a timely maner and he cleaned up behind himself the entire way. I greatly appreciated his honesty and look forward to hiring them for some remodeling projects I am currently lining up.
Description of Work: The master shower had some open spaces within the grout and the caulk needed to be replaced. When I looked into doing this myself I was told I would have to pull all the grout out and start fresh. I decided a handyman would be better for that. The guest bath tub drain kept getting clgged no mater how mych draino used. My AC had leaked on to the ceiling in the third bedroom. I recently adopted a puppy and upon our first try to leave her out of the crate when away she chewed up the dining room window sill. Lastly, I needed to have a mirror hung and peephole added to the front door.

We had a 1950s bathroom, and now it looks wonderful! Everyone I worked with at Case...Brad, Logan and Scott...was kind, responsive and professional. We ended up spending just a few hundred more than the estimate due to a leak in our roof, the absence of existing insulation and an uneven floor under the tub. But Scott talked to me about all of those things in advance, so the additional amount on the invoice was not a surprise at all. Scott was a pleasure to work with and the end result is terrific. He had to do most of the work while we were out of town. When we got home, I noticed that Scott had installed the vanity in a slightly different place than I had thought he would. His rationale was totally legitimate, but I wanted it a certain way. When I called to talk to Logan about changing it, I was worried what reaction I would get and if they'd give me a hard time. Not at all! He explained Scott's rationale and said they would happily change it if that's what I wanted. It was, so we scheduled time for Scott to come back out after another job was finished. He actually had some time ealier and called to see if he could come out then. Now the bathroom looks exactly the way I wanted it to, and I couldn't be happier with Case.

The work was discussed on the phone and an appointment made. Dan showed up on time and ready to work. He explained the needed steps to repair the rotten fascia, obtained the needed supplies and began. I had no idea how to clear the gutters since the leaf guard prevented access. By removing the cap and disconnecting the downspouts, he was able to clear the gutters quickly and completely. The fascia repair and repainting other fascia went smoothly. Even though there was rain, he worked on the parts not affected, returning the next day to finish the painting. Clean up was perfect. I was delighted with the work and the professional way it was done.

Just a note to make sure you get competitive bids, and ask for line item detail.
Description of Work: I asked Case to bid a few different jobs, (porch demo and rebuild, and build out attic space.) I received competitive bids from other, highly-rated Angie's List providers that were 42% less expensive than Case. (The work was performed by these other contractors and I am very satisfied with the quality of the work.) Case bid to demo a 10*12 wood porch, rebuild with slate flagstone pavers, install 2 columns (synthetic wrap around pressure treated posts), install cast-aluminum railing on 2 sides: $7640 I had the work completed by 3 different contractors, (1 for the porch floor demo and build up of new porch floor w/ slate flagstone; 1 for the columns, and 1 for the railing) for a total of $4438. Case also bid an attic for me. The original bid came back with no line item detail. I asked for line item detail and realized they missed a significant piece of the attic bid, which ended up increasing the estimated cost from $1621 to $2322. If I had not asked for the line item detail, I could have gotten mid-project and realized that I needed an additional 30% to complete the work properly.

Case Handyman and Remodeling was able to offer this homeowner a fixed-price quote for performing all the work on her project list. Should the homeowner have chosen Case she very well may have found the experience less stressful than having managed the projects herself. Most Case clients appreciate not having to act as their own project manager and not having to deal with three different companies to get the work done. We're sorry that we were not able to assist this homeowner with her projects but are happy that she was able to find other companies who were better suited to meet her needs and her budget. Case is grateful to have had the opportunity to meet the homeowner and understand that we weren't a good fit for her and her projects.

When we were taking down wall paper in our study, we uncovered a large area of mold on one wall. It looked as it had been there for some time. While I can take care of many things, taking down dry wall, cleaning up mold, as well as checking to see what the source was, and how to make sure it was taken care of. We did a search here on Angies, and found Case, which had a great rating. When we called them and told them of our situation, they had a carpenter that had experience in this area. After we had made arrangements for when he would come out to our house and check out the issue, we got an email from Case, with the resume for the carpenter. Very impressive! He was really the one that we needed. He came out and tore down the dryboard, as well as the insulation. He took off the base board very carefully, so that it could be put back on. He found that it looked like it only got damp there during heavy rainstorms. We went outside and he found that the rain gutter was not properly attached to the roof. Case had a sub contract with a gutter company. They sent out a rep, and he verified what the Case carpenter had thought. They took care of properly attaching the rain gutter, as well as checking the other gutters, and they found that our entire gutter system was not attached correctly. They took care of making sure that it was repaired. The Case carpenter took care of replacing the insulation, cleaning the remaining moldy surfaces, and put up new dry wall board (tapping and mudding all of the screw holes and joints). Overall, we had a fantastic exprience with Case. They knew where they were the experts, and knew when to call in the other experts when needed. We will definitly call them again
Description of Work: We called Case to clean and repair mold that we discovered after removing wallpaper. They came in, cleared out the mold, figured out what was the cause, repaired the drywall, and had a sub contractor fix the cause of the problem.

The person that came out from Case Handyman & Remodeling Company was very nice. His name was Daniel. He was easy to work with. He was pleasant. He checked with me about things. He explained things to me and even gave reasons for ways to do things. He had a conversation with me which is what one wants. He was just fine. He was very competent and very prompt. He was punctual; he even came early one day. He was professional. I think his price was fair, I don?t really know because I don?t have anything to compare it with. Everything is expensive these says anyways. However, I know that he didn?t try to overcharge me or didn?t try to stay longer. I didn?t have any sense that I was being gouged and that?s all I care about. I think that he went out of his way to do the job. It certainly wasn?t a high craftsmanship kind of a work; however I?m happy with the quality of what he did. He didn?t have any white paint so he used something else instead and I had no problems with that. So, he improvised. He could have gone out and bought white paint and it would have cost me a lot more. It wouldn?t have been worth it; whatever he did looked just fine. I think for a handyman Daniel was excellent.
Description of Work: Case Handyman & Remodeling Company last came out for work last week. They made two visits for the same project. They did little handyman chores around the house. They cut the tub, fixed some electrical wires and also painted a space under the ceiling. They fixed the faucets in one of the toilets and replaced a few other things in another toilet. They also put some concrete in an edge of the pavement, about two or three inches and smoothed out the walkway.

I contacted this vendor to have them come complete, what I thought would be two small tasks. The man who actually did the work came out when he was supposed to, and completed the work. However, 6 hours into the project he told me that he would have to come back the following Thursday to finish up (we had to wait for the new footer to set). I let the man know, I would be at the beach, but please proceed with what he had to do since the work was outside. When I returned home from the beach, the following Sunday the work had not been completed. Now, you would think paying these guys $75/hour things would get done, but it wasn't and I was greatly disappointed. In fact, I was told they had a more pressing job?.. To make matters worse, when everything was said and done, my bill was circa $740 for two simple projects. Now, shame on me for not watching things more carefully, but I was WAY overbilled for the project. Needless to say, prior to leaving for Thanksgiving, on Nov 20th, I put a check in the mail to Case. As everyone knows, the USPS is a little bogged down during this time of the year. Well, Logan, the office manager at Case, must not understand this and since then I have received over a half dozen calls from him. In fact, this is the first time I have ever posted comments to Angie's list, because today, for the third time on my voice mail, insinuated that I was a dead beat customer. Logan as I have told you the check was sent out on Nov. 20th and the check is either "lost" or is in the process of being delivered. In the meantime, I have issued you a new check. Also, please be aware that I have reported your business to the BBB, posted this experience to numerous websites and spread it by word of mouth ? and will continue to do so?.. I would also suggest anyone looking to engage this company get a quote prior to them engaging their work. I could have hired other reputable handyman services for closer to $25/hour and received the same results. Again, my beef is 100% with Logan and the way he handled this! Even though the check hasn?t been received, I?m still less than 30 days delinquent.

We do take ownership for the delay in getting the project completed, however the scope of the project the client asked us to do expanded once we began work. Since the project was outdoors and we had prior commitments to other clients, we asked this client if we could finish their project at a later time. We remained in contact as to when we would be back to finish. When the scope of the work did expand, we were upfront with our pricing and how long it may take. We also extended the client a 10% discount for his inconvience, and on 11/17 the client told us he was putting payment in the mail. We acknowledge that occassionally checks do get lost in the mail, therefore we let the client know that by 11/24 the check still had not arrived. We last spoke with the client on 12/1 at which point he said a new check would be mailed. As of 12/9 we still have not received payment.

Brad and Chelsea were very helpful in picking out the cabinets and the design of our new spaces. The craftsmanship of Tom, our lead carpenter was awesome. The electrical and plumbing subcontractors had worked with Case before and showed up on time, the inspections went off without a hitch. They kept to the schedule and worked with us in allowing us to use parts of the kitchen while remodeling the other part. It seemed like we were not without a kitchen for very long, and our new laundry room is great. Overall, I give Case an A+.

I did not use Case because Marc understood my preference without my actually expressing it and recommended that I take a different course.
