It went very well. Case Remodeling answer calls, showed up, punctually, when scheduled and finished the job exactly on time. Work was professional and complete. You could not ask for more from a contractor.

Discovered the leak approximately 4 weeks prior to Thanksgiving. Originally thought it was an incorrectly installed toilet; turns out that was only part of the issue as we also had a faulty shower pan and water had built up in the wall between the master bath and the guest bath. Given i had a large group of people coming to visit for the holidays, i needed the work done quickly and did not price shop. i got case off of Angie's List. Given the amount of work that was completed (ripped up shower floor, replaced pan and retiled; ripped up guest bath floor and replaced with tile; ripped out damaged drywall and redrywalled and painted) the price did not seem too off the mark. In addition, they tightened up some loose fixtures in the bath and also examined, treated and painted an area in an upstairs bath that had some mildew issues (this latter piece was not part of the original bid but Case did not charge me extra which i greatly appreciated). The team was very professional and punctual. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I also used their designer who helped me pick out tile and wall color and really appreciated her help. I was very happy with these services and would definitely use them again.

I can’t say enough about the work Case did for us. For the start we had push back from our insurance company about the required repairs and Case help us deal with this problem by provided detailed estimates to show the costs to do the needed repairs. Once the project started Case came in and did a fabulous job. They took their time and did a fantastic job of putting my home back together. To give a brief summary of the work done they replaced insulation, put up new dry wall to include tapping, mudding and sanding, installed and painted 4 large windows, new carpet upstairs, new hardwood floors downstairs and in the foyer, paining of the foyer, and the list just goes on. As I said before we have used Case in the past and I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of their work. They are the only company in Charlotte I will let work on my home. I know from experience they will provide a quality produce that they stand behind. I can’t same enough about Case. You won’t go wrong by using this company.
Description of Work: As the result of hail damage we suffered water damage to a upstairs bedroom, downstairs setting room and the foyer in the front of our home along with the roof. We’ve used Case in the past for other projects with our home and contacted them to repair the interior rooms of our home. This was a major undertaking as water had gotten into the walls requiring several walls to be taken down to the studs and flooring (both carpet and hardwood) to be replaced. We also had to deal with a major mold problem as the result of the water damage.

Update to Provider Response: I apologize for mistakenly putting the evening time instead of noon time in the previous report. The provider is correct, he visited our house during lunch hour. I am going to state only the facts: I did not receive a call or voicemail. I got all the call records retrieved from my phone company, there is no record of provider's number calling my cell phone after the date of visit. No e-mail was received. Even checked the Junk Box in case it went there. I would not expect that, because I received emails from the "@casecharlotte.com" to my inbox before. After talking to the provider today and supplying him different email address I received the forward of a full quote he claims he sent out on 03/03. We contacted these guys in February to provide a quote to have two bathrooms remodeled and kitchen appliances installed. A representative was sent in and was at our home for approximately 1 hour during the evening. We clearly stated what we wanted done and were assured it would be no problem and that a quote would be provided within a few days. It was odd that no measurements were taken of our bathrooms at the time. It has been nearly a month and still no one has contacted us with a quote. What a waste of time on our part, and one more stranger in the house. We will not chase them down for the quote, and will never think to call them for anything again. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else.
Description of Work: No service was performed - they didn't provide the quote promised!

We visited this client on 2/28 at Noon, e-mailed a detailed proposal on 3/3, and left a voice mail letting them know we sent the proposal. I have spoken with the client and reconfirmed their e-mail information as well as forwarded them the original proposal I sent.

They contacted me within 24 hours - I was thrilled! We set a date for later the same week and they came out to my house (they were 15 minutes early). So far so good. After he took a look a look at the space, he gave me several options. I needed time to think it over, so I told him I would get back to him. I emailed him to let him know which one of the options we thought would work best. I didn't hear anything from him. I called and was told that I would get something via email at the end of the following week (too long if you ask me). I didn't. I called and was told "he was swamped" and would get it to me the following Wednesday (today). Nothing again. From everything I hear from friends/family, it's best to cut my losses before any work is started. If this is the timeliness and communication before the job even begins, I would hate to find out what happens once money has been spent and a job has begun.
Description of Work: I contacted Case about finishing off a bonus room. I was hoping to have it converted into a bedroom - the window currently in the space is too small and we needed to have a closet built.

I had to have a lot of work done on my old house on tight timelines for insurance purposes. After scrambling around to get estimates for replacing rotten wood siding, I decided to go with Case because they had the best price. I'm very glad I did because these guys are outstanding! - They were very prompt and courteous. - They worked quickly They did extra things here and there - They know customer service: - They called ahead to let me know if they were running late (even though it was only 5-10 minutes!) - I received hand written thank you notes for each job. I would definitely use these guys again.

On January 25 Scott came by to appraise all the work I wanted done. On January 30, he emailed me with an estimate. I agreed to everything but the storm door. (It was not in my budget, maybe next year.) We made a schedule for Dan on February 7. Dan came at 8:30am that day, we went over all the things I needed done. He removed the kitchen doors. And went to the home center to get the items he needed and drop off the drawers at his shop. About 10am he came back, he installed the attic tent. He then replaced the kitchen value but this did not work. So we decided to replaced the whole faucet. He replaced the outdoor spigots. He then started to work on the expansion joint between the driveway and garage. He had to go back to the home center to get some sand and take a lunch break. While he was there he found the color of kitchen facet I wanted. He came back and added sand to fill the large voids in the joint and top it off with a sealer. (I did not know at the time that it took three days for the sealer to dry. So he left me two wood boards for me to drive over it.) He then replaced the kitchen facet. He then got on the roof and re-installed the aluminum fascia that had come loose. He got his 40 foot ladder and went around the whole house to add extra nails to all the gable ends. Although I help him a little with the ladder in the front. He was able to do all of this in one day. On February 23, Scott came back to re-install the kitchen cabinet drawers. They match the existing doors perfectly. The refinishing took a little long than expect because of the cooler weather.
Description of Work: Installed an attic tent, replaced two outdoor spigots, replaced the kitchen faucet , filled an expansion joint in driveway, re-installed the aluminum fascia near the roof edge, added additional nails to all the other gable ends, and refinished three kitchen cabinet drawers.

Case remodeling was very friendly and responsive. They arrived ontime to look at my master bath and take measurements. However, I learned that they do not give actual estimates until you hire them to do the work. Instead, they give you a price range based on the work your looking to complete and only after putting down a $1,000 deposit will they come out and give a detailed proposal for the work. The $1,000 goes toward the final payment. I also learned that they estimate all master bath remodels at no less than $25,000. This was well out of the price range we were looking for and I told them so while they were at my home. They said they would review the measurements and work I was looking for and get back with me. Sure enough, it was an estimate of $25,000 - $30,000. We ended up only spending $15,000 with a different contractor when all was said and done - including getting granite countertops, mahagony cabinets, frameless glass and a fully tiled shower. We would consider Case for estimates in the future, but for this project was not pleased with the price.

We have a very thorough process for any project that requires detailed drawings and material selections. We can't give a firm price without first devoting considerable time defining the project and determining what is actually feasible. Like all professional design/build remodeling firms, we do require a deposit for this work. We realize not all remodeling companies operate this way, but we feel our process is the most professional and fair way to make sure we develop a project that meets the client's goals, rather than guessing as we go. It is NOT the case that we "estimate all master bath remodels at no less than $25,000" as the client claimed. Every project is unique, and variations in the scope of work and material selections can have a large impact on the final cost. We work with any budget on any scope of work.

I had siding come loose and or ripped off my house during one of many of our storms/ tornados in the late summer. I am very new to the area and didn't know where to go to for help so I looked to Angie's list for help. I called around to a few places but all did was whole house siding then I called Case. I talked with Logan and set up date and time for Daniel, who is the siding expert, to come out to evaluate my siding issues. My siding ended up being special order so it took a little longer to come in but Daniel kept in contact with me to let me know what was going on. Once the siding was in, a date and time was set for Daniel to come to replace my falling and ripped siding. The day came and Daniel ended up coming first thing that morning instead of that afternoon which was fine. Daniel did the job in about 2 - 2 1/2 hours and did a wonderful job and cleaned up after. Thank you Daniel, Logan and Case!!

Overall Brad and his team did an excellent job. Brad made the experience very pleasant and was appropriately accommodating when necessary. Many of the trades were extremely good and conscientious of entering living space by maintaining a clean environment. Would recommend using your own designer/space planner as we did. The point up person worked very hard to fulfill all of our details, but did not pay careful attention to detail. The high quality product we got in the end, however, did require a fair amount of regular communications from our end to address many imperfections that were not readily seen by their trades. After identifying the areas in question, Brad always made sure that we were satisfied with any and all refinements we would bring to his attention. We love our new space and use it regularly now. We appreciate Case Remodeling taking on the task!
Description of Work: Renovated semifinished basement 800 sq ft: Drywalled/painted/trimmed existing walls, removed an intervening wall, completely renovated full bath (new toilet/shower/sink/reconstructed flooring/hardware), carpeted flooring throughout, new/repositioned lighting, decorative tiling down stairwell to area.

I called Case Handyman in mid-Decembr 2011 and made a firm appointment to get an estimate for some work in my residential crawlspace. I clearly indicated the work required and my location. The company representative confirmed he understood the proposed scope and that the company performs work in Cabarrus County. Although other contractors were able to meet with me much sooner, I modified my holiday/vacation travel arrangements to meet the Case representative on the 3rd. However, Mr. Case called the day before our scheduled appointment indicating that he would not honor the long-standing appointment. He said my home was too far away and he didn't feel it was worth his time since I eliminated him from another job the previous year. While he did provide an estimate for the previous job, he was not competitive and I selected another contracting firm - they did an excellent job.I find this recent siuation with Case appalling and completely unprofessional for the following reasons:1.) Case originally confirmed that location was not an issue. When he called on Jan2nd to cancel, Mr. Case indicated his scheduler should not have scheduled the job - well HE DID - therfore, I conside this a commitment and made plans accordingly2.). The timing of the cancellation was late and unreasonable. Why wait until the day before to cancel an appointment? We had a standing appointment for almost 2 weeks! 3.) I should not have to feel pressured to favor any contractor or commit to a contract unless it's in my (customer) best interest. I did interview several contractors for last year's job and several for this job. I always tell them how much I appreciate their time and decide upon a contractor based on several factors, professionalism is one of them. Looking back, I'm even more appreciative I did not give Case my business the first time. If Mr. Case can't handle rejection and "punishes" potential customers for selecting other contrators, I suggest he get into another line of work.
Description of Work: None (thankfully!) Angie's List Customer Rebuttal: The contractor did reply to my initial rating. However, in the vein of protecting other unknowing consumers, I did want to ensure the FACTS are plain. That is, his response is not completely accurate/truthful. Here's the facts: 1.) My intent was NEVER to add a "full bathroom" or "additional living space". This basement area has a 30x17 concrete slab, 8' ceilings, and completely waterproofed. By code, I can install plumbing anywhere in this area - it's not considered living space 2.) The supposed "professional opinion" was rendered on the day before our appointment - as I (capital I) was driving back from vacation in order to meet him the next day. This opinion was NOT provided when I made the appointment or ANY DAY AFTERWARDS. 3. Bottom line: This has nothing to do with "professional opinion" as 4 other Angie List vendors provided theirs and provided estimates. This has to do with Case's lack of professionalism. Don't be fooled!

I did apologize for not communicating to the client sooner, but unfortunately this occurred over the holidays when I was out of town visiting family. The client wanted us to provide a consultation for adding a full bathroom to a crawlspace. I explained that our professional opinion (and past experience with this type of request) was that because a home built on a crawlspace is not designed for adding living space in the crawl space, this type of project was not feasible, therefore it did not make sense to waste either of our time proceeding with the scheduled appointment. When the appointment was originally set, my Office Manager was not aware of this, and I did apologize for that as well.

I can't remember the guy's name, but he was very straightforward and described what he would do to make repairs to our home (replacing some fascia that had rotted). He looked at everything and made his calculations for the estimate before he left. However, we opted for another company because this one was more expensive and did not include repainting the new boards, which the other one did.

Scott arrived and guided me through some things I hadn't considered, regarding the pocket door, including the necessity of moving a light switch. The work was done faster than I expected. The work was fabulous. Scott even helped out the plumber and the tile installer. Outstanding professionalism and quality. The icing on the cake for me - the final bill was a little more than half of the other remodeler's estimate.
Description of Work: I had coordinated a bathroom remodel with another provider weeks in advance, but they were unable to make the date. I called Case and they were able to quickly accommodate the dates we required. I wanted a pocket door installed, some sheet rock repaired and some baseboard installed. I won't go into details but will let you know that we were very pleased with Case. From the initial bid until the project was complete they were very professional and responsive. A benefit of using Case is that they are general contractors and can anticipate and handle anything that may come up. Also, their design services were very helpful in putting together our new kitchen. The payments were structured to hit project milestones. The work was completed on time and in a quality manner. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We contracted with Case to remodel our kitchen. This including taking out the old cabinets, countertops, appliances and flooring and then putting in new ones. They also had to rewire part of the electrical system, add lights, do general carpentry work and repaint the entire kitchen.

They showed up on time as promised on the first day and repaired the section of ceiling and applied a skim coat of plaster. They had to wait overnight to let the plaster dry. So, they came back the next day to sand the dried plaster. They cleaned up after themselves very well. No sanding dust left. I am happy with the work and would use them again.
Description of Work: Patched ceiling wallboard in my mother's bathroom. Bathroom ceiling wallboard had separated from the wall section because a previous homeowner had sliced the tape holding them together. Over time, due to moisture from the shower, the ceiling wallboard had started to disintegrate and pieces were hanging down.

Description of Work: Case installed exterior doors in the rear of house. This included cutting brick, installing lintels, putting in headers and trim. They also insulated rear walls of house and installed/finished drywall. Put up baseboard, installed gutters on rear of house and repaired some brickwork in the front of house.
