Unprofessional...
Description of Work: Service provider, Mr. Gordon Pressley contacted me 20 minutes after the appointment for an appraisal was to begin. He stated that he had a horrific family emergency and had to cancel. I said "okay..." and he replies..."obviously you don't care" {click}...hung up on me. I tried calling him back and he did not answer. I understand things happen but this guy is totally not professional. I asked lender to NOT send him to do appraisal. Also, if a family emergency had occurred why wouldn't he have called before the appointment time and not 20 minutes after the appointment. I wish him the best for his family emergency but he needs some lessons on how to run a business.

The appraiser contacted me by email and asked me to provide the comps that I had used in determining the list price of the house. I thought that was somewhat unusual but complied. They then called me and told me that they couldn't arrive at the agreed upon time and requested a later time. After consulting with my homeowner clients, I agreed. As both of my clients work, they could not be home at the time the appraisers wanted to come but there is a Realtor® lock box on the door and they informed me that they had a Supra key so that they could access the house key in the lock box. So far, I found nothing grossly out of the ordinary but when my clients came home, they found the doors to their house unlocked and most of the lights on. That is outrageous and though I complained, they never apologized. The real shocker came when they finally submitted their appraisal. It is so low as to be derisory - which I think is perhaps what it was intended to be. I am now having to hire an independent appraiser to go out and do the job correctly. I have submitted a formal complaint to the NC Board of Appraisers.
Description of Work: This company was hired by the Buyer's Lender to appraise the value of a home in Waxhaw, NC listed by me.
