She began to turn red in the face with a big smile. I gave het a bag with a silver DIAMOND earring that happen to be missing once i got home. I called her 5 times finally she called back saying jer co worker found it on the floor and its Silver and CZ stone. How did it get on the floor from your hand. I am hiring a lawyer and sue them.

My review is bad customer service. It is hard enough for people to come in with estate pieces and then to be told in a very impersonal way that their items are not worth any thing . It's called basic human kindness.
Description of Work: I had the same experience as the lady that was selling her mother in law's diamond ring. The woman I talked to was very snobby. She looked down her nose at the things I had and gave redicoulous low values to my items. I had very nice, excellent condition, Cartier watch that she said I couldn't get any more than $50 for. I got $5,000. Be careful! Do your homework. There are other places to sell jewelry and get a reasonableness price.

It did not go well and I would never return to Perry's. The ring was part of an estate left to five granddaughters. The ring was set in 18K white gold and flanked by smaller marquises, round stones and baguettes. SI1 clarity, G color. It is a beautiful stone. The woman who "appraised " it completely bashed the ring and insulted me. She was rude. She said Perry's wouldn't buy a ring like this one and she said I would get no more that $1,800.00 for the ring elsewhere. The ring was originally purchased for $18,000. She referred me to Browne Lee and said they purchased "lesser quality" jewelry and again, she said I would get about $1800.00. I did go to Browne Lee and he offered me $4,000 (which I declined). I sold the ring to diamondbuyersinternational.com for $12,000. I thought that was a fair price - they pay wholesale. I wish I knew the name of the woman who "appraised" the ring. She was unprofessional, negative and rude. Even if she didn't particularly like the ring, she could have spoken to me differently. Terrible customer service. If you have a diamond to sell, you won't get top dollar from Perry's. Do your homework and find a reputable company that purchases diamonds. There are 3 or 4 online that are very reputable and highly recommended. Check out their BBB rating and Consumer Affairs for reviews. That is what I did and I am very happy. I would definitely do business with them again.
Description of Work: I brought my deceased mother-in-law's 2.01 carat marquise engagement ring to be appraised and possibly sold.

I spent months searching online for a setting and stone that I liked for my engagement ring. I finally decided on a "Lucida" style platinum setting with a yellow sapphire, as I have never liked diamonds. I was unable to find anything "off the shelf" because for the most part, engagement rings come with diamonds unless they are special ordered. I called Diamonds Direct and asked if they had other stones and was told yes. I went in and viewed a few yellow sapphires which I did not like, although they had a setting that was perfect. The saleslady tried to talk us into a diamond or a yellow diamond, but we hung tough, so she said she would order some yellow sapphires for viewing and call us when they were ready. We never heard from her again. Finally I e-mailed Perry's, expecting the same treatment. However, within a week we were able to go in to choose a yellow sapphire, order the setting, and put down a deposit. Three weeks after that, the ring was ready and we went in and picked it up. Our salesperson, Gene, could not have been more helpful. We would definitely go there again. By the way, the price was less than anything I found online, and trust me, I looked long and hard. Considering I got exactly what I wanted special ordered with great customer service, we got a fabulous price. The setting was at least $400-500 less than what Diamonds Direct was asking for what seemed to me to be an identical type of setting, and the stone was $1400 less. Overall we saved around $1900 over what the lady at Diamonds Direct quoted us because the saleslady never called us back--she did us a favor!
Description of Work: I e-mailed to inquire if a certain type of ring was available. I received an e-mail reply from a salesperson stating that no such ring was available, but he would be happy to order one to my specifications. He ordered three loose gemstones exactly as I described them, and my fiance and I went into the store to view them. We picked the one we liked best, and the salesperson ordered the ring setting after measuring my finger. It was ready for us in about 2 1/2 weeks and we picked it up a few days later. The price was better than what I found online and the service was great.
