Paul is and was professional from the beginning. He came out gave me a quote on the wood rot and came back out when he said he would. His crew worked hard to finish the job over a few days. Everything they did listed above looks great. I definitely will use them again and would recommend them to anyone. Paul is extremely busy, so be patient with initial contacting. Paul will return your call and work with you to get moving.
Description of Work: Paul and his crew did the following work for me: - Replaced wood rot on exterior of house, including replacing some window ledges and siding - Installed 10 interior doors for me, including routing for hinges. - Installed crown moulding in kitchen, hallway, dining room, and living room. - Installed chair rail in dining room - Removed some appliances and one decorative board in kitchen.

Paul had a worker out to my house on schedule. The job wasn't completed in one day as planned and Paul called me to let me know the reason and that it would be completed the following day. There was no debris left in the yard. His price was reasonable compared to other companies.
Description of Work: I had Paul remove a concrete slab in my backyard that an old shed had stood on.

Very professional and practical. The work was messy and challenging as it rained the entire time and the humidity made it necessary to come back many times, and do the ceiling repair in steps, which included the removal of a very, very large attic fan, drywall over the hole, and plaster repair. Never pushed for money and only asked for payment when we were satisfied and only asked for original cost quoted. He saw a couple of things that needed done at house, like a sliding glass door off track, and took care of it without charging and our asking. He also checked our lighting fixture that wasn't working and did a minor repair and I didn't need a new one and no charge.
Description of Work: We had removal of an attic window fan; ceiling repair in entranceway, hallway, and bathroom; installation of bathroom exhaust system, new outlet in bathroom; paiting of ceilings and bathroom; lighting fixture repair.

I definitely recommend Paul Quick and his crew. They came to my house four days in a row and were always right on time. There were two of them (Kevin, Paul's son, and I think Justin was the other guys name). They were both very skilled and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. They purchased all of the materials for my job and did not upcharge any of the material for the job. The final price I paid was right on with the estimate Paul provided, plus the cost of the materials. The guys were very good about cleaning up everyday before they left for the evening. They did a lot of sanding on the drywall downstairs so I was very surprised by the LACK of drywall dust all over my house! They did a great job of keeping it clean. The guys kept me informormed throughout the process, asked me questions about what I preferred, or asked for me to check out their work and asked if I had questions. They always answered my questions thoroughly and explained things to me before they did them (like when they found out they were going to have to add insulation behind the shower wall). They worked very efficiently also. Paul estimated it would take about five days to complete everything, the guys finished in four days and were even able to leave by lunch time on the fourth day. Hire them, they're awesome.
Description of Work: Paul's crew did a bunch of work for me. I'm having to move out of the state and need to get my house ready to rent/sell. Paul worked with me to find the best solution for the best price for the things I wanted done around the house. I asked them to completely re-tile around my shower/tub. The guys removed all the tile and drywall around the tub. They discovered there was no insulation behind the walls (even exterior walls.. it's an old house). A plumber that had done work on the shower previously had cut away a stud and not properly fastened the supply lines to wall studs. Paul's crew replaced the stud and fastened the piping properly. Then, they installed insulation behind the walls before installing new wall board and ceramic tile on all three sides of the shower. The shower looks a million times better, I could not be happier. The original reason I contracted Paul Quick was to finish some drywall in my basement. The drywall was hung, it just needed to be mudded and finished. I also got them to install baseboards and crown moulding to match the existing crown moulding on one of the walls. The walls in my basement look amazing! They installed crown moulding around some tricky areas of the ceiling where the ceiling is angled (under the stairs), once it was caulked everything flowed seamlessly. It looks great. They also installed the door to the basement room, the closet door in that room, and some moulding at the transition from drywall to brick wall. I was very pleased with how it turned out. While I had them at my house, I also got them to fix a leak under my sink and replace the bottom part of my lower cabinet that sustained water damage from the leak. The whole inside of the lower cabinet looks better since they replaced the bottom part. I am very happy with their work.

This was our first experience using Angie's List -- and we're sold! We found this company by reviewing all the listings for Handymen and sorting on only A reviews. Paul Quick's company soon began to stand out with all the recommendations. I called Paul, he answered, and we discussed the repair. He gave me a quote of $100 on the phone based on my description. His said he was going to send an expert to do the repair, which turned out to be his son, Kevin. Kevin arrived about 5-7 minutes early and waited till the appointment time to ring the doorbell. He was very polite and even asked if he needed to take off his shoes. We said yes if he didn't mind. Later, we told him not to worry about removing his shoes because we were having the carpets cleaned in a few days and he still insisted upon removing his shoes. Kevin was nice and very polite. The work Kevin did seemed to be fairly straight forward and he went to work immediately. The end results look great! When I asked Kevin how much to make the check out for --- he said $75.00 ---- $25.00 less than what Paul quoted. That instilled even more confidence in me that we chose the right company. Kevin could have said the $100 since that was the minimum quote I agreed to with Paul--- but instead he recognized that the job was a bit smaller than what Paul was thinking and charged only for what he thought the job was actaully worth. This company was honest, punctual, polite, skilled and took great care to clean up after themselves. Would highly recommend! In fact, we're contacting them again in a few weeks for additional work that we may want done.

I called Paul at about 10AM, he advised he would be over around 1PM so we ran out to do some shopping and he was waiting in the driveway when we pulled up at 11:30.............how about that for service??? He went about replacing the insulation on the doors, adjusting them as required, and then ran out for a short while to get the insulation for the attic stairs and some additional weather straipping for the doors. In the short time he was gone, his "assistant" tightented up the attic stairs and cleaned up. Even including the trip out for materials he was finished in 90 minutes, great work quickly at a fair price!
Description of Work: I needed weather stripping on three (3) exterior doors with two of them requiring adjustment so they would close more securely. I also needed two interior doors adjusted so they would latch properly along with adjusting/insulating my pull-down attic stairs.

He arrived promptly (actually a few minutes early), was polite and got right to work. He gave advice on making the shelving more solidly placed, recommending strips of wood to fit between shelving and ceiling for strength and durability. He seemed concerned that we be able to place adequate weight on the shelving. My husband went out buy the wood, and the work continued. The handyman worked solidly without breaks and got the job done in less than two hours. We are very satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: He installed heavy-duty shelving which was suspended from the ceiling of our garage, This required exact measurement, use of electric tools, and skill.

Paul Quick Inc did a great job and performed exactly as you would hope a contractor does....on time, on budget, and very respectful to our home. Pricing was fair and final job looked great. At this point, there is zero evidence of the water pipe busting incident...which is exactly what we wanted. The crew cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day, were glad to take time to explain/answer any questions we had along the way, and finished up on-time. Would absolutely hire them again in the future!

I called about repairing a hole in the ceiling, because I managed to put my foot through the ceiling. Paul was not too far away & arrived the same day to do a temporary patch. I asked him to quote on adding some attic sub-flooring to prevent a future recurrence. His son made an appointment and came back to do the permanent repairs. The ceiling is not yet painted and that is the only way you can tell there is a patch. The extra sub-flooring covers a bare spot above to prevent a future problem.

I called Paul Quick to assist in running an HDMI cable from the TV over my fireplace to component sources. The drywall had to be removed to run through the studs. It was discovered the prior installation was done incorrectly and Paul corrected the installation of prior run lines. He came back with his son to finish the drywall and the work was done to perfection - after painting you cannot tell the wall was touched. I would definitely call Paul again for other projects.

Paul was prompt, courteous and professional. He arrived on time and quickly identified what needed to be done. I had not asked for an estimate based on his standing with Angie's List and was extremely pleased with the price he charged. He spent an hour or so on the replacement and caulked the entire area when done. I will certainly use Paul again and recommend him highly.

I contacted this company to assist me in an upcoming civil court case. I wanted a certified contractor to come out a look over the project and give me a detailed list of the issues that were not performed correctly. After my initinal call, I left a message and Paul quickly called me back. I explained my situation and inquired about his services. I was asked to send him an email because he was driving and he would forward me some paperwork to fill out. I never received the paperwork from Paul Quick Inc and after several additional attempts (phone calls and emails) I never received the paperwork or an email from him, nor did he ever schedual a time come out and see the project in person. It appears that he was not interested in looking at the project or he had too much other work to perform. Either way he sould have said so.

We have used Paul numerous times in the past. He's punctual, performs excellent work, his pricing is fair, and he can pretty much do anything you need. We will continue to use Paul in the future. He's great !!!
Description of Work: We had some remodeling work done in our home and contacted Paul for some handyman services. He installed new faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms (5 total), installed a new kitchen disposal, new kitchen water purifier, reconnected the dishwasher, touched up a popcorn ceiling in two small areas, recaulked some crown molding, repaired numerous nail pops and a crack in a bathroom ceiling, cleared a slow leak in one of the bathrooms, replaced a track for one of our closet doors, replaced an outside light fixture, replaced the mailbox, and probably a few other things.

The entire experience was wonderful! They were able to give a very reasonable price quote over the phone and then come out the next day to change out our chandelier/lighting fixture in our entry foyer. The lighting fixture was on a 18 ft ceiling, but that wasn't an issue for them- they came prepared with scaffolding and ladders. Once the light was installed two of the lights didn't work (faulty light construction- which was not supplied by them) and instead of having to return the lighting fixture and wait for a replacement they were able to rewire the lights to get them working! Definitely went above and beyond and were extremely professional. We will definitely be using them for all of our electric needs going forward!

Very responsive to phone calls and emails. They were able to complete all work much faster than originally estimated. They went above and beyond for us. We have a 2 year old who normally naps in the middle of the day and the foreman on the job suggested he put the paint compressor outside and run a hose through the window to cut down on the amount of noise in the house. They also patched up a few things that were not included with the insurance quote and replaced some lightbulbs for us because they happened to have ladders long enough. Extremely professional and I would use this company again in a heartbeat and probably will when we paint the inside of our house.

I spent about $950 in total. I would have liked it if I had done it sooner, but I know he is busy because I refer him to a lot of people myself. It is the only negative thing that I can think of. He worked with a couple of guys, and he kept coming back throughout the day to check on the job to make sure that everything was going okay. I have used him several times, and I have never had an experience with him that would make me not want to call him again. Among all the quotes I got, his price was the best. He got right back to me when I called and left him a message asking him to give me an estimate. He came right out and gave me an estimate within a week, which is good for him because I know he stays busy. His workers were here when they said they would be here. I would absolutely use him again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Paul Quick Inc during the warm weather months of summer in July 2011. He came right out and gave me an estimate within a week, and we settled on a date a couple of weeks after that for him to come out and do the work. If you are looking for an electrcian that is quick, professional and can fix drywall this is your company! Mr. Quick responded to our request for a quote by phone, came on the scheduled day and time and performed the contacted services expertly. He worked fast (his name suits him) because I had the wallpaper installer there who needed to paper the wall were the sconces were being installed. The installation of the floor outlets was also expertly done and up to code (apparently the code had changed for floor oulets and Mr Quick was on top of it). I looked around for a long time because most electricians do not fix the holes they make. This company did and the also fixed a settlement problem in another area, not related to the electrical work performed, as a bonus. Their drywall work is tops.

I contacted Paul and requested he come by and give me an estimate to replace three columns on my front porch. I believe he came by the next day. I also asked him for an estimate to replace some other rotted wood on the house. I was debating between fiberglass and his suggestion of vinyl. He said he'd give me an estimate on both and let me know in a couple days. A couple days later, 11/17, he did send e-mail letting me know that he was still waiting on a price for the columns. I hadn't heard from him for a bit so on 11/25 I emailed to ask if he'd heard anything. This was the day after Thanksgiving, so I expected he was taking some time off. I also let him know that I had researched the vinyl columns and had made up my mind to use vinyl and there was no need to follow up on the fiberglass. I also forwarded a link to one of the sites, just in case he was having a problem finding them. On 11/26, Paul responded and provided some additional information regarding the link I sent. He said he would have a proposal to me later that day and he did. He said that if I had any questions to call him. After reading the proposal, I did have some questions so I called him the same day and he answered all of my questions and said to respond via email if I accepted the proposal and he would contact me with an installation date, which I did the same evening. On 12/8 I hear trucks outside and look to see Paul Quick's vehicles. I hadn't heard from him and didn't realize they were coming that day. Later at work, I listened to voice mail and Paul had called my work number instead of my home number the previous evening to let me know that they would be arriving the next morning. I guess he got the numbers confused. Anyway, I was glad to finally have the work done after what seemed like a long time. I know some of the delay was due to the weather. Once the work was complete, I was very happy. I was a bit skeptical at first about vinyl but the columns look great. The work was well done and the boards on the house look fine as well. Paul's crew was able to remove the last piece of wooden railing without damaging the siding. The quality of the work was good enough that I would use Paul Quick again even if it takes a while to get them out here.
Description of Work: Three wood columns on the front porch were replaced with vinyl. One was severely rotted and another was beginning to show signs of rot. To remain consistent, all three were replaced. Additionally, some wooden boards on the corners of the house were replaced for the same reason. I also requested that a wooden piece of railing be removed, it was awkwardly attached to the siding and I didn't want to damage the siding trying to remove it.

I believe I first called Paul on the Sunday after Thanksgiving to say we had a problem. The garbage disposal would not even seem to turn on and was not working. I knew we also had a leak but that was a secondary problem. I left voicemail describing all this but saying this was not an emergency but we did hope he could put him on his queue for the following week. He called right away and gave me some advice about the garbage disposal to prevent further damage. Then he came on Tuesday and fixed everything, He is great about communicating when he will come and then showing up at that time. I really trust him, he does an excellent job.

Paul did an excellent job. Very professional, friendly and high quality. I will definitely use him again in the future.
Description of Work: My disposal was not working and Paul came out to fix it. The disposal was extremely stubborn, it would not turn on, could not be manually turned and Paul had to literally take it apart to get to it. But he was determined to fix the issue and after spending and incredible amount of time to take it apart he found a spoon that had broken of f and worked its way down into the disposal and wedged itself into the disposal itself. In spite of the fact that he spent at least as twice as long as he expected to work on my disposal he refused to charge me for his extra time. No question that I will use Paul again. He clearly takes personal pride and satisfaction in doing high quality work.
