If I was able to give negative stars I would definitely rate them at -1000! If you want to get your work done in a timely fashion and by professional, please do not go with this company. I had the misfortune of dealing with Paul Davis. My bathroom project started in August 2021 and it never got completed. Management is not responsive even at cooperate level! They will schedule appointments and would not show up. Management will not take responsibilities for their craftsman not showing up to scheduled appointments . In addition craftsmanship is below average. The work that they did compete is falling apart within 2 months of completion! It has been an utter nightmare dealing with this company- something I would not even wish upon my worse enemy! By all means avoid going with the company - would be better off doing the project yourself EVEN if you don’t know how to do it. This company charges premium to deliver below average industry standard work. I adding few pictures to show the work they have done for me!

Hired this company in May. We have been displaced our home. They Failed to get proper permit until September (made numerous excuses) (failed multiple inspections) Company changed project manager after multiple complaints. General manager took over and assured us he would communicate with us biweekly. This was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and we haven't heard a word from him. Today is December 8. .Please do not use this company. There is no excuse for the incompetence of a major company. They should have their license revoked. Should have called channel 9 before now. I have a call in to them now.I will update when I hear back.

Terrible experience. I never knew who was in my home or whether work was being performed. Couldn't get a straight answer from the GC on multiple issues. Also, multiple delays occurred because of poor planning and over booking. Workers showed up without having received instructions or adequate supplies. Tile and wood work were therefore not done as discussed. Extremely unprofessional and left a mess. Overall the quality of work was OK but it was a terrible experience that has dragged out way too long.

They were at my home assessing the work within 2 hours of my call for help and had drying working equipment onsite within 24 hours. Very satisfied with the result. Pricing was very reasonable. Their prompt action averted a bigger problem with mold development. My career was in insurance claims. I called Paul Davis because they are recognized nationally as a leading expert in water remediation.
Description of Work: A frozen water line over my garage ceiling ruptured and saturated half of the garage ceiling and wall drywall. Paul Davis opened up the wet drywall and ran 2 blowers and 2 dehumidifyers continuously for 5 days, and reduced moisture readings from as high as 33% down to almost zero,

Our one year old roof began leaking - thankfully the roofing company paid for the restoration services. The guys from Paul Davis Restoration were very professional, polite, and respected our family's schedule while the work was going on. They cleaned up after they were finished and the room that had water damage looks like new - like it never happened.
Description of Work: They removed wet drywall and ceiling (leaking roof) dried out the area (with an industrial sized de-humidifier), replaced drywall, painted it, and put everything back where they found it.

On 2/22/15, I woke to find that a water line above my garage ceiling had frozen due to a low 9 degree weather temperature. Water was cascading down over the top of my garage door. It had to have been flowing for at least an hour after the outside temperature rose high enough to thaw the broken water line. The drywall ceiling on half of my garage ceiling and an outer garage wall were water saturated. I reported the loss to my insurance company, and they immediately retained Paul Davis Restoration of Charlotte to perform water remediation to dry out my garage and to prevent further damage such as mold growth. I received a call from Paul Davis within 30 minutes, and within about 2 hours, they had someone at my home to survey the damage. The next morning, they were at my home installing 2 large dehumidifiers and 2 large air blowers in my garage. They removed part of the garage ceiling so air could circulate to dry out the ceiling. The dehumidifiers and blowers ran nonstop for three days. When Paul Davis returned to pick up the equipment, the moisture readings were down to almost zero. Water remediation is one of Paul Davis' specialties. I worked over 39 years in the insurance industry handling claims before I recently retired, so I already knew Paul Davis Restoration by their excellent reputation. I now know it by personal experience. When a large water loss like this occurs, it is critical to remove the water as soon and as thoroughly as possible before mold can propagate. Removing mold can be an expensive, extensive, invasive process. Paul Davis averted this problem by their prompt, professional service.

They were sent by our insurance company to assess damage and help with drying process. They were very pleasant to deal with, explained every step of the process. They were prompt and thorough in placement of the drying apparatus and in developing a repair quote. I hope I never have another water leak, but if I do, they'll be my first call!

Great! A pipe leaked in the overhead of our rec-room and about one third of the ceiling fell to the floor. About one half of the floor flooded and the water wicked into the walls. Everything was taken out down to the studs; all walls and ceiling. All furniture was removed and dried. All items were carefully packed and stored. We were consulted at each phase and were kept informed of what would happen and when. We asked that a tile floor be installed instead of carpet and were told that as long as we paid the difference that would be fine. When the work was finished, our items were returned and put where we wanted them. It was a good experience from start to finish.
Description of Work: They tore out everything that was damaged. Stored and cared for all of the items as if it was their own and, in general, were very solicitous. All was replaced as brand new. I have since refered others to them.

I have hired them for the job. They haven’t yet finished the work and they are in the middle of the job. The charge will be through the insurance company since we had water damage. I think the quote was about $11000. I received two estimates and the other estimate was more expensive. The people from Paul Davis Restoration of Charlotte came out to access the water damage to dry the sub floor. There were a series of things before they decided what to do. They repaired the drywall. They removed and repaired the damaged floor. They re-sanded and refinished everything on the first floor. It not only included the damaged area but also all the rooms on the first floor. They came out immediately to access every time they removed something. They answered everything. They made it really easy. It’s important especially when insurance companies are involved. If need be, then I would use their services again.
Description of Work: We received an estimate from Paul Davis Restoration of Charlotte for the restoration work about 3 to 4 weeks ago.

Paul Davis Emergency Services (PDES) came to our home 7-16-2010 to remediate water damage caused by a failed drain pipe inside the wall begin the kitchen sink. It had been leaking undetected for an undetermined time. PDES was sent by my insurer under the latter's so-called "blue ribbon" plan. They arrived fairly fast. Because the leaking water was from a drain (which also emptied the dishwasher) that was a Category 2 or Category 3 spill. PDES advertises IICRC certification. The house and the cabinets date from 1969. There are stained-wood cabinets around the room and overhead. They were refinished in 2004 and look very good. Floor construction: plywood subfloor, vapor barrier, 3/4" particle board, 1969 original tile; then lauan and new tile from 2004. Water had spread the particle board. IICRC (Std. S500) says wet particle board is not reoverable and not dryable. It includes an multi-page addendum that advises against dry-in-place for Category 2-3. The PDES project manager was verbally adamant about not removing any cabinets over the water damaged floor. He was concerned about loss liabiity to PDES and his client (my insurer), and, in fact, was acting in the role of an insurance adjuster. PDES chose to dry-in-place using dehumidified air. During the first 12 hours of drying, the air duct fell off the dehumidifer blowing hot dry air into the open kitchen instead of the wet area. The duct had been taped onto the machine. I called PDES, which sent someone to reattach it with more duct tape (the technician told me PDES had not purchased the necessary parts for a reliable mechanical attachment). IICRC standard requires regular moisture readings to chart progress. The repair technician who came by Saturday took a few readings but no one else from PDES came by or took any readings for the rest of the "dry" time. After 4 days of forced drying, PDES measured 25% or higher moisture content in the floor in front of the kitchen sink cabinets (off the scale of their meter). This far exceeds what is allowed. I terminated their employment and have now hired a cabinet maker to remove the cabinets in order to evaluated and repair floor and wall damage. Because the dry out stage has ended, this requires to me address every issue separately with the insurer, line by line. Would I "hire" PDES again? Never for a spill inside an enclosed space (floor, wall, etc.). IICRC has been adopted by ANSI (American National Standards Institute). But IICRC certification offers no benefit to the homeowner if it's only used for advertising purposes in the Yellow Pages or on the Internet. If water leaked into enclosed spaces, especially "dirty" water, you should insist those be opened for dryout/remediation. If the company refuses, look for another company. Homeowners should be aware that industry "rules" for water damage claims have changed in recent years. Dry-out costs -- those for the machines -- flow directly to the insurance company. But once dry out is declared done, unresolved issues are between the homeowner and insurer, even for areas that were left covered or inaccessible. All the more reason to have drying done properly from the start. One last note on PDES. Under the insurance policy, I had to pay to repair the damaged piping, which I did. Work was completed on the afternoon of 7-16-2010. The damaged pipe my pluumber removed from the wall was on a kitchen counter. PDES personnel took it with them when they left Day 1. I called PDES to say that since I paid for that repair the pipe was my property. They agreed and returned it the following day. Why did they take it? For insurance purposes, I was told. Clearly PDES was not representing me.
