Ricardo was prompt, responsive, and a pleasure with whom to work. His pricing was competitive, and he performed consistent with what he promised. He offered helpful design ideas and did a couple of extras at no charge. The end product was perfect and precisely what I expected. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Mr. Morales came out as scheduled was prompt and knowledgeable. He gave me a quote on the spot. I did a little comparison shopping and his number was favorable. When I gave him the go ahead, his schedule was out 3 weeks, and he called back as promised. They started the forming early and installed the concrete on the day promised. It all looks very good and we are quite happy with the work he and his crew did.
Description of Work: We added new concrete steps with a landing to our side entrance. Original steps were uneven spacing, taller last step into the house and no landing. I had in mind new brick over existing brick. Mr. Morales suggested poured concrete (red dyed), with stamping to closely match existing. That is what we went with.

Mr. Morales and his team were very professional. They arrived on the job when said they would and did a very good job. We were very pleased with the work that was done. When I need any concrete projects done in the future, his company will be the one that I call. I would certainly recommend him and his team to anyone who needs their services.

I had Ricardo and his crew out to complete and addition to the concrete patio around my pool. He came out in a timely manner to provide and estimate. Set a date for the work to be completed and actually rescheduled to complete the project early. This was an amazing experience. I had another contractor do an addition to my driveway 2 years ago and that person left my yard a mess. However, Ricardo and his crew cleaned up after themselves and other than the new concrete my yard looked the same as when they showed up. I highly recommend Ricardo and his crew to anyone who needs concrete work done. An absolute 5 Star company.

Excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Quickly responded to inquiry for services. Visited that same weekend to do an estimate. Marked areas. Pricing was clear. He was up front about expected time frame to complete the work (July 2018) but had an availability come up last minute (June 2018). Perfect timing (just in time for Father's Day & for the man of the house to get a new grill). His team was punctual (7:30am). Ricardo clearly marked the areas to be extended and his team of 5 went to work. They were finished shortly after 11, with one guy staying behind to complete the details of the concrete to match our current driveway/patio. He was as professional as Ricardo was. They answered our questions and concerns (regarding when concrete could be painted/when we could step on it/when we could put furniture on it/and when the neighborhood wild cats could step on without marking the concrete). We found out about Ricardo Morales Concrete through another neighbor who had used his services before. We've already recommended him to family. We pray that God blesses Ricardo in all his business dealings and ventures as he remains faithful to God's plans for his life.

Mr. Morales contacted me promptly about the job. When he came out to my home to view the area, he explained the process and offered me, what I considered, a very fair price. He and his crew arrived on the appointed day early and completed the task within the timeframe quoted. I am extremely pleased with the work he performed and his customer service.

We had Mr. Morales repair a drive way on a home we own in NC. He reached out several times and was very accommodating on our timeline because we needed the renter to move out first. When the job was complete, he sent pictures via text and had secured the area very well so cars would not pull into the driveway. I highly recommend Morales Concrete!

I couldn't be happier with the new patio. Communication beforehand was prompt and thorough, including 2 visits to discuss our choices and colors. They even were able to move the schedule up a day earlier than originally discussed (after confirming the date change with me). Ricardo Morales (owner) was very courteous, responsive and professional. He gave good advice as we worked through choices and explained everything to me before, during and after the job. I highly recommend him and would gladly hire him again.

Ricardo was prompt in returning our inquiry call. He came out the next day to give us a cost to do the work and gave us a date he could perform the work. To our surprise he had a cancellation and was able to do the work within that same week. They were fast and did a great job. We will be adding another extension and new walkway soon.

Remarkable. Fantastic. Better than Imagined. Back in my younger days, Lowe's had a sale on paver-bricks and I convinced myself that they would be the perfect solution to the muddy area outside our back door where we had a huge tree removed. Stump-grinding, check. Compacting soil, check. Bringing in sand to nestle the pavers into, check. Buying and transporting 700+ beige paver bricks to home, check. Installing paver bricks tightly and perfectly, check. The patio was beautiful and life was good. Then I found out that once you remove an eighty-foot-tall tree stump it is not necessarily gone. For the next decade the pavers kept sinking, I kept repairing and thinking "this will be the last time, for sure". Not. By the time I got in touch with Ricardo Morales through Angie's List the patio looked like an off-road obstacle course. Ricardo responded immediately to my call, scheduled a meeting for the weekend, looked at the problem and discussed solutions. He gave me the price to remove the existing patio and replace it with a stamped concrete replacement and offered suggestions for reinforcement of the concrete to avoid future problems, ways to incorporate the existing construction to eliminate cracking and guidance to give me the finished colors we were looking for. His price was at the upper end of what I was expecting but I was so impressed with his reviews here and with him that I took a chance. Not much of a gamble, it turns out. He showed up on time, immediately started the project with all of the men and equipment to do the job, did everything we agreed upon and a few things I didn't expect but he knew were needed, and finished ahead of schedule. Four days after he finished the job I wish I had paid him more. It turned out better than I could have hoped. If the pictures all come through, #1 was at 7:30am, #2 was at 8:00am, #3 was at 9:30am as the concrete truck was pulling in the driveway. #4 was the evening of the second day and #5 is tonight on the fourth day. We love it and thank Ricardo and his men from the bottom of our hearts. If I have any complaint, it's that our new patio makes our 20yr old adjacent deck look so shabby. Know anyone in the deck refinishing business, Ricardo? Would recommend Morales Concrete for any job they say they can do without hesitation. Thank you for a job well done.

They did a beautiful job which exceeded our expectations. The wall will be there long after we are gone! They also cleared out some vegetation that I really wanted to get rid of without charging us extra. We were doubtful it could be done the way we wanted, but it was even better than hoped. They finished faster than the original estimated time. We will be hiring them for another job in the very near future.

Contractor did not handle unexpected issues very well - mostly because he DID NOT DOCUMENT the work scope properly (Sorry, but as an Eagle Scout an a retired Air Force Officer and PMP, I have to be honest about my evaluation). On day 1, we discovered a small portion of the existing slab was thicker than I was told by the original garage builder. During my contractor selection process, I did previously ask Ricardo if he owned, or had access to, heavy equipment, if needed. He said yes. However, his guys just showed up with sledge hammers and digging bars to remove the slabs - no way this was going to do the job. Ricardo was stressing out because of the potential impact to his schedule the rest of the week. Concerned myself, I quickly asked Ricardo to get some equipment on site to accelerate the job. I agreed to pay another $850 without hesitation. While his guys worked extended hours that day to complete most of the brick wall, Ricardo started making complaints about the length/cost/construction time for the brick wall that would form the concrete to be poured the next day. The "nickel and diming" started. He wanted another $650! Ricardo began complaining and brow beating me that he "didn't agree" to this. I contended he did. The basic problem is that Ricardo does not provide adequate documentation (and claimed his memory of our initial discussions was better than mine - I was/am offended by that!) During our initial negotiations, he would not DOCUMENT all the work. However, he DID respond to my job description by indicating everything was "OK" (his words) in his last email. I was so fed up with his whining, I begrudgingly agreed to pay the additional $650 (after he threatened to walk off the job - the original driveway destroyed with large concrete rubble just laying there!). It gets worse... The last day of the job (sensing he wasn't making enough profit), he wanted EVEN MORE money after I presented my check. He became obstinate and argumentative. I especially wanted to avoid conflict since my 9 year-old grand daughter was out in the yard as well. I asked him if he wanted my money or not. He took the check, muttering under his breath. I was livid! To his credit, Ricardo called my mobile phone the next day and left a voice mail apology - too late! Here's the problems: Ricardo doesn't want to document anything, is a poor communicator, and (apparently) only does "professional" work if there are NO issues at all (wouldn't that be nice). I would never hire him again - it was one of the most "painful" experiences of my life in relation to a project (of which I've managed hundreds - professionally and personally). As a Christian for 45 years, a retired Air Force officer of 32 years, a long-time Angie’s List “Gold” member, and a PMI-certified Project Management Professional with decades of personal and professional construction management experience, I have to be honest about my evaluation of Morales Concrete. I speak the truth as shown below. For some reason, previous customers did not appear to have issues with Ricardo. However, for the reasons shown below, I did. See provided/attached pictures and documentation – a reader can’t refute these FACTS. The basic problem is that Ricardo does not provide adequate documentation. Additionally, if things don’t suit him, he tries to rely on his own (flawed) memory of discussions. Ricardo’s written communications is misleading, incomplete, and broken. He also speaks in broken English when in a hurry (which also led to misunderstanding – in fact, I had to ask him to repeat himself many times during all our conversations). In a nutshell: Ricardo handled these job phases poorly: project proposal, construction (issues & deficiencies), project communications, and billing. Job Proposal and Construction (issues & deficiencies): See ATTACH 1, the March 12th proposal where Ricardo indicates that brick wall “will be augmented on both sides to a height of minimum 1 in. taller than the new concrete level. Note in ATTCH 2, the photo, Ricardo DID NOT augment/continue the wall the entire length of the new concrete level (a major construction deficiency). In ATTCH 3, I provide my condensed email asking Ricardo to update the original proposal (so we could have complete agreement on what he was doing – he did not. However, note his first words in his response: “All is ok…”. This indicated he agreed with the content of my original email. Also note that the email clearly states the wall was supposed to be the entire length of the new concrete level – he didn’t do this! The email also clearly states that he was supposed to let the brick “retaining” wall cure/dry for 24 hours before pouring the concrete – I saw on Day 1, he apparently didn’t intend to do this either – another deficiency. However, after trying to communicate with Ricardo during this day, I decided early on I just wanted something for my (hard earned!) money so I could get him off my property – he was that difficult! Unexpected issues: During my contractor selection process, I did previously ask Ricardo if he owned, or had access to, heavy equipment, if needed. He said yes. However, on day 1, his guys just showed up with sledge hammers and digging bars to remove the slabs - no way this was going to do the job. During the morning, we discovered a small portion of the existing slab was thicker than I was told by the original garage builder. Ricardo was stressing out. Concerned myself, I quickly asked Ricardo to get some equipment on site to accelerate the job. I agreed to pay another $850 without hesitation. After the equipment arrived, Ricardo started making complaints about the construction time for the brick wall (To their credit) his guys worked extended hours that day to complete most (not all!) of the brick wall. However, even once they finished working on the wall the next morning, Morales Concrete didn’t meet the agreed specifications (for the agreed price). Billing: Add-On Charges. I had already agreed to pay an additional $850 (see above). However, half-way through the job, Ricardo wanted another $650 for the wall construction! Even though he did not meet the wall specs we had agreed to, I begrudgingly agreed to pay the additional $650 (after he threatened to walk off the job with the original driveway destroyed with large concrete rubble just lying there!). Final Billing. It gets worse... Once Ricardo “completed” the job, he wanted EVEN MORE money after I presented my check that incorporated the 10% Angie’s List discount (See ATTCH 4 (10% off coupon for Angie’s List members). He surprisingly claimed his original pricing proposal already incorporated the discount. However, I NEVER indicated I was an Angie’s List member until I presented the check! Ricardo became obstinate and argumentative. However, he finally took the check, muttering under his breath. I was livid! Angie’s List Members be forewarned! To his credit, Ricardo called my mobile phone the next day and left a voice mail apology - too late! I would never hire him again - it was one of the most "painful" experiences of my life in relation to a project (of which I've managed hundreds).
Description of Work: I had an existing driveway on a slope entering into a newly-constructed RV garage that was improperly poured. The rear end of the RV scraped the concrete at the rear bumper when trying to park in the garage - so bad that we could not enter the garage. The work scope consisted of removing sections of the existing driveway, re-sloping the driveway, pouring new concrete, and installing a heavy duty drain near the garage entrance to run rainwater into an existing underground drainage system. The work also consisted of extending an existing brick wall on the sides of the driveway to use as a concrete form to raise the level of the concrete.

In the world there are all types of people. Some of us dedicate ourselves to working hard to maintain our families and to be able to take money home but there are also people who take advantage of that, and you already being at the job ask for extra jobs for the same given price. But because I am a person who defends himself if that is the motive that bothered you, then I am sorry, but I am very straightforward and I like saying things just as they are. I wasn't going to do, for free, 8 to 10 lineal feet of brick wall on each side extra. You know well that 650 dollars for that extra job is nothing. I didn't gain anything from that job because I already, by word, gave you 10% discount during the estimate and the last day I went you gave me a check discounting yourself another 10% off Angie's list, you say you didn't remember, but your word is your word. It is my fault for not specifying that in the contract, but it doesn't matter, it works as experience to learn from Mr. [Member Name Removed]. I am satisfied because I did him an excellent job as always. I would be thankful if he never needed me again because even though it would give me shame, I would have to say no, but thank you for your review even though I don't deserve it, I give God thanks that many good people exist that value my work and me as a human being, I hope your life goes well, have a good day. Mr. [Member Name Removed] contacted me to see a project he had, I went to his house and he showed me his project. There had to be parts of existing concrete removed and put new concrete without it being slanted because the mobile home scratched it and the brick walls from the sides had to be lifted. A deck drain had to be placed, I told him he could buy it and I would install it, I gave him a price and he said he would let me know if he wanted the job. The following week he called me that he wanted to see me again because there was a change, I returned and we decided to remove the concrete 10 ft more in the back to get rid more of the slanting of the land. I asked if his existing concrete was 6 or 8 in deep because if it was I would have to bring heavy equipment to remove the existing concrete. He told me twice that the concrete was only 4in deep, we agreed that I would do the job for 6,600 dollars, which was put concrete of around 650sq.ft., remove parts of the existing concrete, pick up only the existing walls of brick a minimum of 2in higher than the concrete I would place, install the deck drain he was supposed to buy, put new concrete of 4in., 4,000 psi with wire mesh and fiber. He asked me if that was the best price and I said he could utilize the coupon of 10% discount on Angie's list and I could do it for 6,000 with the coupon included. He said the job was mine if I could leave it at 5,800 dollars. I said that was fine, I sent him the quote to that price. The 2 weeks, he called me and said he wanted to remove another section all the way up to the slab of his garage. I said I would charge him 1,000 dollars more, which would in total be 6,800 dollars. He accepted and I sent him a new contract through email. The day of doing the job came, everything seemed normal, I began to break the existing concrete, we managed to make a hole with the jackhammer and the concrete was 8 in. deep. I told him I couldn't do the job without a heavy machine, we agreed that he would pay for the equipment only. I was up to do extra work because it would be more concrete that I would have to break and dump in my dump truck, which by the way he told me I could dump the existing concrete 2 miles away from his house for free and that was also a lie. I had to dump it a lot further away and loose more time. He said he was gonna pay 850 dollars for the equipment. We started to put brick over the wall and he wanted to extend the walls up towards the driveway of 8 to 10 feet on each side, which we had not agreed on. We only agreed to put the wood form and concrete. To put the wood form on each side it took me 5 minutes. To put the new wall of brick he wanted it would take me 6 to 8 hours in making it plus the mortar. I said he had to pay extra for it and he didn't want to pay me and he said it was the same putting the face of concrete as the brick too. I said it wasn't because for brick we had to excavate to make a mini footing so the brick would be resisted. He said let's see and I was bothered a bit, but I let it pass and I said its fine. We removed the concrete and when we were preparing to put new concrete he said he wanted 8 in.deep of new concrete in the first sections by the slab of the garage. I said we agreed to only 6in. in that area, as I put in the contract I sent to him by email, signed by me because he showed me a paper where my signature was not there and he wanted me to do what the paper said. I told him of course, I would put 8in. of concrete, but he would have to pay for the extra concrete needed and he refused. That was where I was really bothered and I told him that I would not do any more things for free. That he would have to pay me the extra hours to make the brick wall and I would put the 8in. of concrete without a problem, but he is a very difficult person and he did not want to pay me anything. Then I responded and told him that I understood why he didn't call the other company that made him the existing concrete and if he didn't pay me a minimum of 700 dollars for the extra wall and 850 dollars for the equipment, I would leave his job instead so he could look for someone else to do his job because I would prefer to loose what I had worked that day than for him to abuse me and wanting extra jobs for free. He finally said he would give me 650 dollars, which I had in front of him told my workers that I would give it to them extra to work that day very late to be able to put new concrete the next day. We came back the next day, finished the brick wall on the right side and we put the concrete. Mr. [Member Name Removed] asked one of my workers to repair some cracks on a wall of block of his garage without consulting me. The third, and last, day I returned by myself to finish installing the deck drain and cut the control joints. When I finished, I began to cover the hole of dirt where I connected the drain to the existing pipe. When I was finishing he said he would come back with my check. In a few moments he returned with a paper in his hand and a check. The paper was the 10% discount coupon and on the back he annotated the numbers which was 6,800 for the agreed price plus 850 of the machine and 650 for the brick wall. In total it was 8,300 dollars, but he was discounting another 10% which was 830 dollars and he was giving me a check of 7,470 dollars and I told him the 10% was already taken off from the first time I gave him the quote, but he told me he couldn't remember it at all. He told me if I wanted the check and if not, he was leaving. I told him to give it to me and he said to ask him for the check and I told him just give it to me and he repeated, ask for if or I won't give it to you. He is an arrogant person and he wants to take advantage of whoever he can. I did not let him treat me that way at the beginning, but in the end he stole 830 dollars from me, which he discounted by himself. With this person we must be very cautious and if someone contacts him to do any job, be careful and write the contract very well and with all the conditions because if not he will treat you the same as me and after I did his job 100% professionally and he stole from me and wanted to take advantage of me, he still had the shame to put a C in my review, but in this life everything is paid back. I recovered what I lost with him in other jobs. He has yet to pay in this life.

It was an excellent experience! Always responsive, timely, professional in all ways. We have already decided to use them for our pool decking. My neighbor had a sidewalk install with them the same day and is satisfied as well. Highly recommend Morales Concrete!

We are very pleased with our new patio and everything about the quality of work by Morales Concrete. First, Mr. Morales is the most punctual contractor we have used and his communication on meeting times and work completed were flawless. I looked for recommendations on Angie’s List and picked Morales Concrete due to positive reviews. The prior reviews were spot on. Morales Concrete performed a professional looking patio with reinforcements, metal rebar at corners with wire mesh on top along with perfect saw cut joints. We had our patio brushed and we couldn’t be prouder or more pleased with the completed work. You want the best and most experienced professional when it comes to concrete repair and pouring and so happy we found Mr. Morales!

Ricardo and his crew did an amazing job! From the first time of contact to completion of our project it was two weeks!! He was very punctual for the consult and the start day of our project. Every person in his crew had a job and were very precise. They even left a hole in our patio so we could put a fire pit in! We also had him stain parts of the patio to give it more depth in color and pattern. Ricardo was on site the entire time, except when he went to get the stain and stamps, and even helped complete the project. They are detailed oriented and asked if we liked it before concrete was poured. I would highly recommend Morales concrete!

Ricardo and his team were punctual and courteous. Having searched a while for a contractor to assist in extending my concrete patio with no luck, I was impressed with how responsive and customer focused Ricardo was and equally as impressed with the finished product. I would highly recommend Morales Concrete for your outdoor needs!
