It went well. The technicial was great. Showed me that the two plugs were OK and handled everything else very politely and efficiently. I was excited as it only took him 30 minutes to do. And the owner has said that it's always $136/hour, no up-front charge. So, I was shocked when the technician came back and said that it's $200. Surely, that is wrong. I talked to the owner and he said that it includes the travel time to and from the office -- even if the technician does not go back to the office (saw the van at the corner gas station... so I know he didn't go back to the office). He knocked it down to $132.50 (random price) and I'm totally disillusioned. If you don't mind the wonky, random pricing ($200 for a half hour and another time $275 for an hour and a half), they are great at what they do. I just don't like the randomness of the price point.

Following a new water heater install, it was found that electricity was not getting to the new unit. Turns out that as the old water heater was dying from an internal leak, water had reached the circuit contacts and created a continuous circuit that eventually burned out a breaker (and a good chunk of my bank account, relative to our usual power bills). On the recommendation of the plumber (South End) who did the install, I called Mobley the next morning, and Eddie, the owner, was out that same day to look at the problem. Upon diagnosis, he said he'd be able to fix it first thing the next morning since the breaker involved wasn't terribly common and quoted a price of $125 for the whole job. Easy enough. A few minutes after he left, Eddie called me and said he was on his way back, having found a breaker at a nearby store, so instead of waiting an extra day for hot water, we were good to go that day. Plus, after seeing my motorcycle, he offered to contact me when his usual riding group got together so we could take off when the weather got better. Can't recommend Eddie Mobley highly enough.

In both cases the work was done quickly and professionally. At the second location they actually did the work a day earlier than expected. They also found additional items that needed to be brought up to code and still managed to stay within their estimate. As a project manager for a large industrial electrical contractor I'm well aware of what it takes to a professional and complete installation. Eddie and his team go above and beyond to ensure they provide a safe and quality installation that meets all code requirements. These are key issues in electrical installation. And the fact that they can do it for a reasonable price is is the icing on the cake. I will definitely be using them in the future on other residential properties I own.

This is the fifth or sixth time I have used this company. I have an older house and I am - slowly - revamping electrical issues. Mobley Electric has installed a new fuse box, added outlets, added an overhead light fixture, and are currently working on a complete rewiring of my detached garage. I have found them to be knowledgeable, experienced, and very helpful during each of these locations. My only complaint is they are, occasionally, difficult to get ahold of. I would definitely recommend them and will continue to use them for my electrical needs.
