Had a couple of small issues with this company in terms of setting up an appointment and also with the difference in the price they charge Angie's list vs. that posted on their website. However, Mr. Darin called me up and gave me a very satisfactory response. Looking forward to getting my house's backyard fixed!

He recommended products to improve the yard along with directions on how and when to apply. All our plants near the house need to be removed or transplanted to better locations. They are too close to the house for the size. They did recommend purchasing a landscape design. After further discussion, we agreed that this would be a good idea. I look forward to seeing the final design.

Owner came on time. Answered all my questiions. Did not leave until I was satisfied. No annoying follow up sales.

Added July 26, 2011. I need to add that this was one of the Angie's List Big Deal emails and that is the reason I expected more. It was supposedly a $400.00 value for only $99.00. When the Rep told me it would be an additional $1200.00 for a master plan I was kind of shocked. I expected more for a true $400.00 value of service. They advertised a consultation about your yard so we used them. It wasn’t really what I expected. He talked to us for a while then offered to do stuff for us for $12,000 then offered to set us up with a master plan so we could do things in steps as we could afford it for $1,200. We thought we would be getting a plan for our yard; we didn’t understand what the consultation was. The guy was very nice and I can’t say anything bad about him. I feel like they make a lot of their money off of doing these consultations rather than doing actual work. We didn’t get the information that we thought we would get. He seemed knowledgeable and he even explained why the price was so high.

Best money spent on our new home so far. We bought a foreclosure that had a long neglected yard and landscape. The information gained from Darin will not only save us money by avoiding some big mistakes, but will also greatly speed up the redesign and recovery of the eyesore that is the exterior of our home. I was expecting a little bit of a sales pitch along the way but it never came. He focused on educating us and assisting with some of our DIY goals as well as provided great resources for where and how to buy what we will need. We will tackle a lot of the project ourselves, however any of the steps that need professional services we will go with Metro without question. Highly recommended!

Had two meetings with Darin prior to the work starting. The first was to go through what work was being requested and also to discuss some future projects and get estimates. Darin was very attentive and paid attention to what I was asking for. We talked through multiple scenarios of the work that I was considering. Selected Darin to do the first phase of the work which was to replace the stacked stone steps and also to replace the driveway. Next meet Darin to select the stone, looked at multiple choices and made a selection. Next the work started, crew was on site promptly and they first did the demolition on the steps. The crew was very careful to make sure the best side of the stone faced up and was very careful with everything around them, nothing was damaged has all this work was being completed. Crew did a great job of keeping the site cleaned up during the day and before they left for the day. There was some rework required on the existing walls with the new steps in and they did a great job of integrating the stones into the existing structure. Overall the steps look great and they look like they have always been there, very satisfied with the work. Darin did contract out for the asphalt work but he made an excellent decision on who to use and the work that they did was of very high quality, very pleased with the end result and it looks fantastic. Overall it as a very good experience and we got exactly what we are looking for. We will use MetroGreenScape for future projects.

The driveway is wonderful and the drainage works like a charm. Very satisfied. Workmen worded quickly and professionally.

It was awesome. We subsequently had Darin put in a new driveway. Which was also well done and changed our lawn service over to MetroGreenscape.

They did a very good job and we were very pleased. We haven't had any flooding problems since. In my particular unit, they were working around the drainage pipe and had disturbed the pine needles that I had laid. I spoke with one of the workers and they told me that they would replace the needles. They came-back a few days later and replaced the needles, laying even more than I had had. I was very impressed with this gesture and feel that they went above and beyond. I just contacted Darin today regarding a future project that they will be doing. I have a pet, so I was concerned about the chemicals in the fertilizer that they will be putting down. Darin advised me that things would be fine. He was very understanding of my concern and provided me with information regarding the materials that they will be using, so that I can do further research. Overall, Darin and his crew have been very thorough, responsive, professional, and polite.

My yard is looking great this year way better from when I bought the house.

Exceptional. This is not a word I use lightly. Darin and his team exceeded my expectations. They took the time to understand what was important to my family and what our needs were. That meant, at times, telling use what we DIDN'T need. How refreshing. They provided great attention to details and we have a beautiful space to enjoy with friends and family. Interviewed and received quotes from 3 will regarded Charlotte Area Outdoor Living services. Darin and his team were head and shoulders above the other companies. The design they developed, in collaboration with my wife, was elegant and tasteful. After contract was signed they continued to provide service for us to the highest degree. Their workers are craftsmen, and were always punctual and respectful. The job started and finished exactly according to schedule. The end result exceeded our expectations. My highest recommendation! Plan on using them again for an in ground pool to be started in 2011.

We've used them once. They do reasonable to mid-level work, but their communication and responsiveness need a lot of improvement.

They really didn't do what I asked them to and their pricing was high. I was not satisfied.

I think they were very professional. They came with a lot of references. We had one of the owners of the company stop by. He seemed very nice. He was on time. They were very upfront and knowledgeable. They gave us quotes pretty much on the spot on average of most of the cost. We actually went to a garden show and we saw some of their work as well. They had a display in one of the local garden shows over the weekend. We didn't move forward with them because another landscaping company gave us some different ideas and we just liked their ideas better. We would use Metro-Green Scape again if we needed another estimate.

The work itself was fine. They made me paid for two whole pallets of sod. i only used a little more than one, and they took the rest. They didn't leave me any or refund. They also put flyers in 400 of my neighbors mailbox telling them they did work for me and to view my house. They did not ask if it was OK to do this.

Overall I would say this experience was a good one, especially the installation process and the support of their field people and project manager. I'm concerned how this will all look once spring has arrived here in LW SC - exactly how many of those plantings survived or what all this will look like in the growth season. But for now and looking back I'd say selecting Darin and the team was divine intervention for us. We're about to contact them for another section of the side yard and to revisit what was placed last fall.. We'll let you all know how that turns out. For now though we would indeed recommend them

I did not use them because I didn't like them at all. They charged me for the estimate which I knew they were going to charge me. I was not pleased with the way they conducted the business. They charged us to create a proposal that was just a rough sketch. We sat down and had a conference with them and told them exactly what we wanted. When they brought the sketch back, they did not listen to what we said at all. They just sketched something really unprofessionally out and gave us the price. They told us that the price did not include things like moving the sprinkler system or replanting the grass. They were really scary. We had a drainage problem in the backyard and the grass wouldn't grow. We wanted to re-landscape it without grass but with just plantings. We didn't want to use any hardscape. Yet, they brought back a plan with hardscape. When we asked them about the plants they were going to put in, they told us that we would have to go to the nursery and pick the plants out rather than them picking them out and telling us what should grow. I would never do business with them. They baited, switched, and misrepresented and they were unprofessional. The owner was to come out and go over the proposal with us, but he called at the last minute and told us that he had to meet an unhappy customer and he was sending his intern out to go over everything with us. We were not impressed. They didn't do any work and they did not listen to us at all. They were on time. We would never ever use them again.

They were in the neighborhood and came to us seeing if we needed work done. They were good and professional. We would use them again in the future.

They were smaller when I used them and within the two years since I've used them, they have become very known and active in the neighborhood. They participate as a company that does a lot of green projects, and do a lot of outreach work for the community. I think they are very good, ecspecially now that they are growing very fast.

They always try to be very responsive. He always tries to stay abrest for the most recent trends for being green and being the most cost efficent as well. They are good with communication. They are really a B+/A- company.

It was a great experience and the results were beyond our expectations. We feel we definitely got our money's worth and we're looking forward to enjoying the neww addition to our backyard and sunroom

We had them put in an upper and lower stone patio and a covered deck. They also did the landscaping and had a contractor that gave us the quotes. They worked with us on the assignment of the backyard and took into account our thoughts and what we wanted in the backyard. They made sure it was customized with the colors and plants we liked. They were professional, responsive and punctual.

Darin responded quickly to initial call, and offered excellent suggestions on laying out initial design. Once construction started the job foreman proved to be extremely competent, pointing out on several occasions certain changes we needed to make in order to improve the finished project. All members of the crew were professional, easy to work with, and very skilled. The entire job was completed in a week. They cleaned up thoroughly. This was a big project for us and not something we had any previous experience with. We are very very happy with our new back yard.
