METRO-GREEN SCAPE INC

I hired Metrogreenscape to install an irrigation system back in 2012. I recently started having issues with the system. Tom went out of his way to completely re-do my system, as he said he wanted it done right this time. They came out for several days and repositioned the sprinkler heads to where they should be. They did everything free of charge. I really appreciate the great customer service and the efforts made to make me a happy customer. I would highly recommend doing business with Metro-Greenscape.

Took awhile to get someone out after I paid part of the down payment. Once they came they did a good job. The people they hired to put up the carport left tree limbs that they had to cut to put the carport up. My daughter and I carried them down to the road. Called owner and he came out and said that was not acceptable and had someone come and take the trees limbs away. Was hoping he would give me a small discount for carrying them all the way to the road but he did not offer. Rest of the work was very professional and would hire again but wished that they would give a military discount. My husband who is deceased served in the military for over twenty years to protect these people. Will look for military discount before I hire them again. Work was good and I am pleased.

It is difficult to grow grass in my front yard and I was looking for a very low maintenance option. The plan provided was nice, but the price of $500 seems very high for what I received. Maybe that's the going price, but I would have felt better if I got much more info with the plan. For example, I did not get photos of the plants recommended or info on their care requirements. The plan wasn't even in color. I ended up making own small changes to much improve the plan, making it cheaper and easier for me to keep up with the lawn. The cost to execute the design seemed way over what I can pay others to do the same work, so I will not be using Metro to execute the design. I don't know if their costs for plants, trees and shrubs is inflated or not, as it's hard to compare accurately (because of the size of the plants). I can only speak to their labor costs. Overall, I feel I paid too much for the plan although it's a nice plan, and I will have someone else execute the design to save hundreds to thousands of dollars. No hard feelings, just a learning experience for me.

We've had a great experience with them so far and they exceed our expectations of pro active communication and customer service. Hire them if you need a landscape company!

The weekly yard contract price is competitive and the crew's work is consistent.

Everything turned out fine. I would use them again.

Showed up within the window that was given to us. They created very good expectations on watering, flags being in place to ensure our irrigations system was safe from damage, and they also cleaned up excess that got on our drive and walkway.

The quote and the scheduling for the work was done with great ease. The crew that came to bury the pipes reviewed the work to be done and when completed, asked us to approve what they had done. They cleaned up the area and it looks great. The crew was very polite and friendly.....just a great experience all around.

. Metrogreenscape was charging the previous owners $523 a month and was not overseeing the property to notice problems with over watering, grubs, shrub infestation, aphids in the trees, brown patch in the lawn and who knows what else. When I confronted them about gloomy pest infestation in the Maple trees, they pointed to the tree service that was also charging $1340 to maintain the trees. Metro sent someone to spray and I still have aphids and a stained deck from their chemicals. The irrigation system is less than 5 years old (not their install) and needs to be modified due to areas not being watered. The mail box get a daily soaking...no extra charge for that.. Upon close of escrow, I met with Shawn Kelly to have him continue service on the home but only the basic service. I pointed out certain problems and he agreed that things were not up to his expectations. He had recently taken on my house but would take care of these items. He wanted me to sign a contract and I told him that he would need to earn my business. I am not used to contracts for yard service coming from the west coast. He agreed to keep it monthly and I authorized aeration and seeding. 2 weeks went by and no show on his crew. I placed a call to Shawn and he said, and quot;I was just going to call to tell you that your on the schedule for tomorrow.and quot; I told him that there is no need to come and that I would be writing about my experience on Angie's List. He apologized and we ended the conversation. I have been a Plumbing Contractor for almost 40 years in the service and repair sector and I know what it takes to keep your customer's happy........this was far from it.

Darin was prompt and professional. We want to expand our outside living space but need to do it in stages. He was exceptionally receptive to that plan. I appreciate his willingness to work with us - and the consultation fee was minimal compared to the knowledge we gained. AND.....we can continue to ask questions as we move forward at no charge. It was amazing!! Thanks Darin!

It went great. The appointment was scheduled promptly, and they showed up on time. The walk around the yard took 1 1/2 hours and we covered front, back, and sides along with deck/patio plans. They were not afraid to tell us what of our ideas would not work and why, and also gave great suggestions. The work consists of both hardscapes and bedding changes. They gave us names of other vendors and products for things we could do on our own. We will be receiving some quotes on our high priority projects soon, and hope that we are able to continue with Metro Greenscape. Specific items they brought to our attention: - Side of house where we wanted walkway, not as easy as others have said. Our plans would have caused major drainage issues. - Pointed out moisture issues on our porch which may or may not be a problem, but worth looking into. - Tree knowledge, knowing varietal names, not just suggesting a 'Maple' or to put in a River Birch when we want extremely low maintenance as another landscaper had suggested. - Multiple options for drainage and bedding in a problem sloped area. Others have told us to just grow grass. In addition to poor or half hearted advice from other landscapers, one did a no-show, one went on a leave of absence, one split up his company and we got lost in the shuffle. So far, Metro Greenscape is proving to be reliable and knowledgeable and exceeded our consultation expectations.

Overall the did an excellent job.

I think they did it okay. We went with our regular people we had before and that was when we had moved into our new house and we were just trying to check up the sprinkler system people and I think they were just quite a bit expensive though. We paid them the price of the big deal and then there was little bit of extra charges based on what the sprinkler had something.

We contacted Metro Greenscape for several landscaping projects in addition to long term lawn care. When I contacted Metro Greenscape, a representative (Jamie Hall) met with us within days of initial contact. He was very professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. We live in a neighborhood that is very wooded and our yard has tons of and quot;natural areas.and quot; We've attempted (relentlessly) to and quot;groomand quot; our yard, but to no avail. Jamie provided excellent recommendations section by section of the front and back. He spent quite some time here helping us divide the work in to several projects in order to make this landscaping overhaul a bit more financially manageable for us. Jamie helped us come to terms with areas we could and could not grow grass, which bushes were and quot;of ageand quot; to remove, and help our and quot;street appeal.and quot; The first project was done in one day! The results are absolutely amazing! We stared at our front yard for days. We were so pleased with this work, we signed up for monthly maintenance/care and fertilization program. In the fall, RC and his team fertilized and seeded an area of our yard we haven't seen grass in 10+ years. Right about October (when they said we should see it by), we had beautiful green grass. Now, this spring, it's lush and gorgeous. Metro Greenscape works hard (and quickly) every week to keep our property looking great. We're looking forward to our future projects with them!

He left my home and he never did any work. He has not provided anything for us. He came very unprepared to my home. He stayed for less than an hour--he said he would give us ideas about the work he would do and also give us an estimate. He ended up charging us $75.00 just for the visit.

After I bought the big deal, I got a call from a very friendly gentleman i the office to set up an appointment. The gentleman who came to do the inspection was prompt and arrived as scheduled but did not seem to know exactly why he was here. He asked me what I needed the company for and I told him I had bout the Big Deal on Angie's List. We spoke about a few things that I would like to have estimates on and he give me advice about some things I had questions about. I never heard from Metro-greenafter that nor did the gentleman who came to the house do a lawn inspection. I don't know if there was a miscommunication within the office or what but I never received a follow-up call. After a period of time I just wasn't interested in using their services. I am not sure whether I would use them again or not because everything started out so well. However when I call a service and ask for estimates I would expect some kind of response eventually.

They were very professional. They do quality work. I have used them again since that big deal.

It went well overall and met our expectations in terms of details and professionalism. The estimates were pricy but not totally unexpected.

The two fellows did a great job, going beyond what I expected. Saved me a lot of effort.

People very helpful anf friendly but we did not end up needing services.

The job went well and was done quickly. He checked all sprayers to ensure that they were working correctly and adjusted them as needed. If he wants repeat service, he should ask for our email addresses and then he could send out a teaser email early in the year to get us on his list for the following year. Question for him. Should we have the system checked and shut down for the winter? Any issues with the freezing of the irrigation pipes?

Got good information on what needed to be done to the lawn, shrubs, trees, etc. Also good recommendations on what plants would work well on different parts of property, drainage tips,etc. They were prompt and professional.

This review is specifically on the 10-pt Landscape Inspection that was offered as an Angie’s List Big Deal (for $75) . Turns out Metro GreenScape and I had wildly different expectations about what constitutes an “inspection“, and they ended up refunding my payment. The interaction was cordial and reasonably prompt, and our conflict was resolved, so, according to Angie’s List rules they earned a passing grade. But I still wanted to alert future customers to be clear on what they are offering vs. what you are expecting. I assumed that an inspection and inspection report would be a tool for the homeowner to use in follow-up discussions with various contractors and/or in planning do-it-yourself projects -- in other words, that it would be a fairly detailed examination of the issues and at least some discussion of how to address them. This is typically what I have gained from other paid inspections associated with the purchase of my new (old) home. What I actually got, following a cursory walk-around, was a checklist of 9 inspection points (#10 is labeled “complimentary” and was blank), indicating scores of “good, average or needs improvement” for each, a very brief statement (e.g. “no lighting present”) and a price to have the company do the repair. This is more along the lines of what I have previously received from contractors performing Free Consultations/Estimates, though others have typically included much more detail. The whole experience, including the persistent upsell from the office to purchase a landscape design, felt a lot more like a sales call than a paid service. I asked the inspector if he couldn’t flesh out the report a little bit with some additional information (I had a couple of specific questions) and waited through 10 days of silence before contacting the office for a refund. And they provided a refund, so… happy ending? But still, if you are planning to manage your own landscaping and are hoping to gain some information and advice from an expert inspection, this may not be your ticket. As a final comment I’ll just add that the standard price for this 10, oops, 9-point inspection is $75 on the company‘s website, so the Angie’s List Big Deal price is….not such a big deal.
