All communication was through email. Made arrangements for an in home estimate a week in advance (email response was almost immediate!). The day before the estimate I emailed to confirm that he was coming; no response. Emailed again to confirm he was coming (after he missed his scheduled time) no response. The next day I received an email apologizing and wanted to come that day. Agreed as I was already home. He showed up was very quick with his measurements and said he would get back to me. Week later...no response.

My first email on 5/4 included a specific description of the areas that needed work, and a short paragraph on my availability to meet and schedule the project. I indicated that email was the best contact method but provided my home and cell phone numbers, then requested a reply at their earliest convenience. On 5/5, I received a very short email asking when they could come measure the area. Given that I had already told them I would like to meet in the coming week, I was a little surprised that they hadn't offered available days and times, so on 5/6 I replied with my work schedule and specifically requested an appointment on 5/10 at 4:30pm. I didn't receive a response until Tuesday, 5/9 saying "In sorry for my late email . Tomorrow works". An hour later, I responded that it was okay but that I no longer had availability; I included three additional dates with times (5/22-5/24) for him to select from. On 5/11 I received an email stating "That works 5/22" so within the same hour I responded to confirm the day, date, time, and address of my home. On 5/16, he said "Ok Thanks". When the appointment day arrived, I sent one final email an hour before our 4:30pm appointment with some details I wanted him to know about the job. I REALLY wanted to work with this vendor given their excellent Google reviews, so I went out of my way to confirm this appointment and ensure it went well. At 4pm while I was driving home, my husband called me to ask when they were arriving, and I told him 4:30 and that I'd be home before the apt began; he was picking up some of our pets' toys on the first floor (near the front door) and wanted to know how long he had to tidy up. I left work earlier than normal to arrive at home by 4:20pm (I hung up with my sister when I arrived and later checked the call log) where my husband had been ALL day with our three pets. I helped him tidy up, and we didn't realize until 4:45pm that Majestic Flooring was late. It didn't worry me too much, I assumed it was just traffic, but at 4:50pm I called and John seemed very confused and said the person he had sent had a couple other appointments but he'd call them and find out what happened. John called me back at 4:56pm and said a series of things including that: The guy had come at 4:15; he isn't "trying to blame anyone" (he kept repeating this); he is sorry for the inconvenience; etc. I stated that I appreciated the apologies but I clarified that my husband was home the entire day, that I arrived home prior to 4:30, and that nobody had tried to knock or call my cell phone. He asked if he could do anything to fix it, and I said that we could meet if the person could come back as soon as possible (there is a reason I scheduled this out so far in advance, obviously we are busy). He said he would reach out and try to get someone to our home. At 5:14pm, I called again because John hadn't told me when the employee could come back and nobody had shown up. He repeated that he isn't 'trying to blame anyone' but that his guy had arrived early and nobody answered and he is in another appointment and he can't do anything about it right now. By this point, both myself and my husband were agitated, particularly at John's repeated assertion that 'nobody was to blame' while defending his employee; either the employee lied to him about showing up or he is calling my husband and myself a liar. I wanted to make that point, but then intended to offer another day and time with the assurance that he would send a different, more responsible person to our home. Once again I clarified that we have a dog, so if anyone knocks at any time, the dog barks and the cats scurry and there is no possibility that my husband wouldn't have heard the knock. Additionally, shouldn't the employee have at least tried my cell phone and waited around until the appointment start time of 4:30? There was nobody near my home when I arrived at 4:20. John interrupted with an agitated "Mam, listen..." which was another mistake on his part. He ignored how unprofessional he and his employee were, and when I handed the phone to my husband (because I don't have time for this BS), he stammered and then repeated his excuses. My husband, who had been pacing and more frustrated than myself, pulled out of the drama and told John that we'll be using someone else. The end. John of Majestic Hardwood Floors made a lot of mistakes resulting in this review and the loss of my business. I would not recommend his services to anyone given the level of unprofessional conduct beginning with the initial emails to the missed appointment to the annoyed and condescending tone which he attempted with me on the phone. He should have unequivocally apologized for his employee's multiple mistakes (not knocking/ not calling/ not being at our house at 4:30 as scheduled), listened to his customer's constructive criticism, then worked to remedy the problems in the future.
Description of Work: On 5/4/17, I sent a detailed email with the subject line: Sanding/ Refinishing/ Staining, and one "repair area".

John did a great job buffing and applying a semi-gloss coat on my hand scraped hardwood floors. They look amazing and refreshed. He was also able to refine a few scratches as well.

We now have beautiful floors thanks to John and his crew! We bought a house built in the 1960's with original red oak hardwoods that were in rough shape and contacted Majestic to have them sanded, stained, and refinished. We also had new hardwood to match the existing installed in the kitchen, and the end result was flawless. The new matches the old perfectly and there is absolutely no sign of the old stains and water damage on the refinished sections. John advised us of a stain to pick that was exactly the color we wanted, and gave us a very fair price for the work that was done. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: Refinished existing and installed new red oak hardwoods, repaired section where wall was removed.

I had an excellent experience with Majestic. Being from out of state, I was unsure of who to go with for my flooring needs. Johnny was great to work with from my first call with him. He was pleasant, professional, and friendly. I had severe discoloration on my floors from 12 years of area rugs. After he was done, there was no indication of any color differences and the worn areas by my back door were indistinguishable. The floors turned out better than I expected. I had done this to improve the appearance of my house when I put it on the market in a couple of weeks. I am certain that I will get a high return on the work. I was so pleased and his price was so reasonable that I gave him alittle extra. Highly recommend!!

He was likeable. He was right on the target as far as the estimate goes. The work was pretty good. The only dislike I had was some part of the finish on the corners were missed; but it was not a big deal for me.
Description of Work: I hired Majestic Hardwood Floors this year for flooring work. They installed new hardwood flooring in few parts, and in other parts, they did resurfacing as well as refinishing.

One person, Johnny runs this company. He was good. It was a lot of work. The price was excellent.
