+ -1 moreThe President, Joe Lowry, provided the quote, though I never met him, only phone contact. The team he sent out to look at the job was enthusiastic but didn't seem highly experienced in jobs like mine. For example, they didn't know the NC building code for footings called for an 8'' thick, 16'' wide concrete footing. They insisted that I needed 12'' wide and 24'' thick (that's more than double the concrete cost). The first price quoted was $21,000! That's clearly gouging, so that's why I gave them a ''D'' on price. When I complained (and helped them out with their math a little), they came down to $11,800. That price MIGHT be competitive, but I didn't feel confident that they were the right company for this job. Maybe they're not so much into footings and concrete work, more of a brick work company?
Description of Work: They quoted foundation and flatwork (finished concrete slabs) for a 1500 sq. ft. addition on our home (about 600 sq. ft. of house addition on a crawlspace + 900 sq. ft. garage).
