I don't normally answer the door for salespeople, but these guys caught me in a weak moment. It was very good timing on their part because I couldn't maintain temperature on the upstairs level without using auxiliary heat (and sometimes not even auxiliary heat could keep up). They provided a quote within a day of visiting my house and had a crew on site the following week to put the barrier down. Putting the barrier down took one day, which was a day shorter than they promised. I called to complain about some marks on the carpet (it had snowed 7-8 inches the night before they came) and about an upstairs light that no longer worked. They had the install guy out the next day to clean the floor and fix the lamp. Turns out that the light was not their fault, but he tried to fix it any way. While we haven't had any extreme weather since they installed the radiant barrier, I can say that my attic temperature has been much more moderate. I'll know this summer if it solve my cooling problem. So far, I'm very impressed with the quality of their work. I don't know if the price I paid was an extremely good deal as I didn't go looking for additional quotes. However, it looks like a fair price based on what I found online (thus a B on price). I also told them that I would gladly post some pictures with this review, but I haven't heard back from them (B on responsiveness). Update on 9/4/2011: We're now through the hottest months of summer, so I thought I'd post my experience so far with the radiant barrier. Similar to last summer, we had a string of several 90 degree plus days, so this should be a good comparison. Last year, my upstairs never got below 80 degrees during the string of +90 days and got as high as 86 degrees. Even at night, it rarely cooled off below 78 degrees. This year, my upstairs never got hotter than 76 degrees and it cooled off to the thermostat setting of 73 degrees by 9:00 or so in the evening. Sure, I would prefer it to be able to maintain the 73 degrees during the hot days, but all in all I'm very impressed with the near 10 degree difference the radiant barrier achieved. For those with a similar problem, I would recommend taking a look at the radiant barrier option - it does work.
