We returned to Legacy after hiring them a few years ago. Allyson Williams was very helpful, pleasant and professional. The marble bathroom countertops look great. Perfectly done. The installers arrived as scheduled and did a great job. Everything was measured correctly. We are very pleased with this company and will use them again.

It went flawlessly. The install of my Wild West Green granite looks great. I asked for a a small piece to carry with me to pick tile...they brought 2 pieces about the size of 1/2 of a sheet of paper and also the sink cutout piece...way more than I asked for.
Description of Work: Legacy assisted me in picking a color for my counter tops ( I wanted a little different) that stayed in my budget and got the tops in quickly. Since my job was not huge, they had an opening they could work me in that met my schedule rather than the normal turn around time.

I used Legacy to replace my countertops and backsplash, it was a pleasure to work with Bob, Hilda, and Nate. I shopped around at several different places but decided on Legacy because they just made me feel comfortable and didn't make things so complicated, like picking out countertops. The workers were on time, very professional, and tried to be as clean as possible under the circumstances. I waited a long time for this renovation and it was worth the wait, final result-beautiful,\. I would recommend Legacy to anyone, you won't be disappointed. Susan Anderson

From start to finish we were so very pleased with Legacy Countertops. Once we made the decision to have this work done, Legacy was the only business we visited. We were well taken care of on our first visit and were able to select a granite choice. Then the template was scheduled soon after with the installation taking place on the day of our choice. The installers did a perfect job very efficiently and were great to work with, very polite and professional. The work was completed in 2 days.

We found Legacy Countertops reviews on Angie's List and visited their location. At their facility, they had the countertop that we liked and contracted them to do the work. The template process went very well as did the installation. Their 'behind the scenes' people and the actual installers were excellent. At our site they drilled the holes for the sink as well as another one for an electrical 'pop up' device. The location of the latter hole had a very small tolerance for error and they did it perfectly. I was also amazed at their ability to carry the large and heavy pieces of granite. We will contract with them for any future work that we may have.

Very reliable and easy to work with. I must admit I was a bit skeptical about giving a company I'd never done business with and never heard of before, a 50% deposit with their verbal guarantee that they'd return in one week to install our new countertops. But we did it because firstly, Nate in the showroom was extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Secondly, Bob (his Dad) came to our home as scheduled and took measurements for our new countertops, just as he said he would. And his installers showed up and were extremely neat and professional. They had our new counters installed in no time and it completely transformed our entire kitchen! Old dingy formica removed and new beautiful kitchen remains!! The plumber showed up and installed our new garbage disposal, sink and faucet, however, our new Moen faucet was leaking. So we contacted the plumber and he said that he could and would replace the faucet with a new one if we went and got another but he would charge jus $85 to do so. We had no choice but to go and buy a new Moen faucet, pay the plumber an additional $85 to reinstall the new one (it was less than 2 weeks since the original install); and we returned the defective faucet and got our money back. The only other thing was that the installers did not caulk any of the new granite countertops. They just used glue/cement and left it for us. This was a little bothersome because our island bar countertop was overhanging quite a bit, and we were worried that the weight of the granite would eventually give way and collapse. So we had brackets installed by a contractor and caulking done on all of the new counters by this same contractor. I think that should have been included since it was "unfinished" the way it was left. I'd still give Legacy an "A" rating because they did what they said they would, when they said they would do it.

The original install date was missed by a few days but other than that everything went perfectly. The backsplash piece did not fit correctly so they took it back to their shop trimmed it off and installed the next day. We are extremely happy with the quality of the countertop as well as the installation. The price seemed high to us but the quality of work was worth it in the end.

They were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. When the drop-in stove arrived, we realized we had measured the height incorrectly and they came back and removed the countertop without breaking it while our contractor made the height adjustment and then they reinstalled the granite countertop. They didn't charge us extra to do this. Our countertops are beautiful!

It was a great experience and working with Bob and Hilda was a joy. They are very knowledgeable, so helpful, professional and very dedicated to their customers and their craft. Even after the granite was installed, I called Bob because there were a few small indentations which needed to be fixed. Bob had mentioned these to me earlier and said they were a natural occurence in granite and marble. He sent someone over that afternoon to fill the small crevices. Now I can't find or see them and the granite looks great. We are very happy with the outcome of our kitchen granite countertops and with the granite countertop in our powder room. We will definitely look forward to working with Bob and HIlda on our next granite/marble project.
Description of Work: Bob, the owner, took extensive measurements in our kitchen in order to fabricate and install granite countertops there as well as in our powder room. My husband and I met with Bob and his wife Hilda several times to discuss the process, get their advice on where the granite should be cut, the type of edging and how to care for the granite in the future. His team of experts cut the granite and then installed it.

I had Legacy put in granite countertops in my kitchen. All the dealings with them were very positive. They created a sketch of my kitchen and gave a very reasonable price. After picking out the granite, we set a date for the installation. Their installers were on time, and I was very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. The granite is beautiful! They cut it perfectly and I see no mistakes. The Island is the showpiece of my kitchen. It is gorgeous! Thanks, Legacy for my beautiful kitchen!

Description of Work: I had selected a granite remanent in Dec. for a bathroom remodel and paid to have them hold it for me. By the time I got a contractor selected and on their schedule the work did not start until March. I decided to have a custom cabinet built which was 4 inches higher and 2 inches wider than the existing cabinet. When Bob came to measure the top of the newly remodeled cabinet/bathroom, the selection I had made in Dec. was 1" too short. so, I had to hurry down to their store and look for another remanent at lunch time. Luckily, the economy had picked up so there was an even better selection to choose from now. Bob made the extra effort to get his guys working on it right away that same day, so as not to put my contractor behind, and they delivered the top and installed it at 7pm that night! He should be given the super service award! It looks great! Betty Peck

My husband and I went to the Legacy Countertops showroom and was greeted by Nate Proczak. He was very knowledgeable by answering our questions about the procedure used to replace our current Formica countertops with granite. He showed us samples of granite along with costs of each granite color. After reviewing data about granite countertops online and visiting the local Home Depot, we still had a few questions for Nate Proczak or another professional in his office. A second trip to Legacy was needed! We visited the Legacy Countertops showroom again and were greeted by a very friendly young woman. Then we met with the owners, Bob & Hilda Proczak. Both individuals were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful by answering all of our questions and addressing our concerns. Mr. Proczak gave us a proposal for the new countertops....an offer we couldn't refuse. Mr. Proczak came to our house to create the granite countertop template. We chose a granite color and set a date for the countertops installation. The installation and clean-up by Legacy's installation professionals was very smooth and incident free. We love our new countertops! They beautifully enhance the entire kitchen! We highly recommend Legacy Countertops to anyone considering making a positive change in their home. We feel we received great value, excellent quality, and top-of-the-line workmanship from an A+ company. We know it was the right decision for us!

A longer explanation follows, but in a nutshell, because of personnel changes, Legacy does not seem to be operating at the high level reflected in the previous reviews. Their prices were good and the initial communication was great. But after a personnel change, communication, service and timeliness disappeared. This caused ongoing frustration and a delay to my overall build schedule. I cannot recommend them because of this. Positives: - Leyna was very quick with a very detailed, written quote off of the architectural drawings I provided. - Legacy's quote was cheaper than the other two vendors. - When I went to the shop, Hilda was very helpful with suggestions and provided me with background info on the remnants that Legacy had on site. She explained that if I found a remnant, since someone else had paid for the whole slab, I would only be charged for the square footage used, not for any scrap made. - When I found appropriate remnants for my bathroom countertops, I took paint color wheels, floor tile and cabinet samples out to Legacy's site so that I could make my final selections on colors. Hilda came out and gave her opinion on the materials and color matching. She also tagged both samples On Hold for me with my name. - I was still actively searching for the kitchen granite and Hilda was providing some guidance. - My G.C. went by to inspect the operation and gave me the thumbs up after his visit. - Later in the process, the crew that came out to do the work was very polite and hard working. Up to this point, the experience was as described in Angie's List. However, Hilda stopped working for personal reasons and the experience totally changed. Negatives: - Once Hilda was no longer involved, it became almost impossible to catch someone in the office via phone. - Response time to my questions went from the same day/one day to over a week, if they were returned at all. This applied to both phone calls and emails. - Some of the issues that I needed answers and responses for were the critical basics of granite countertops: quotes to me from Legacy of the different granite types from different granite houses, fabrication time estimates so we could tie it into the overall project schedule, revised pricing when the countertop sizes decreased and a sink cutout was eliminated. My G.C. did not get responses to his calls either. - When Bob did finally call me back, he gave me a verbal quote with no details and did not follow up with an emailed written quote as requested. His recalculated price was not as low as I calculated using Legacy's own format from their first, detailed quote, and I wanted an explanation. I never received one. - Bob also said that there were other customers interested in the remnants so I needed to pay him in order to prevent them from being sold to someone else. He knew that I had committed to these slabs and changed my material and color scheme, and I was still an active customer, so this came off as a heavy handed sales tactic that was totally unnecessary. And not appreciated. - Bob also did not honor Hilda's statement about charging for square footage used and charged me for the waste generated by a 3" bump-out. - When a late-in-the-game surprise emerged (the depth of the front bathroom counter was so shallow that it was difficult to find a sink to fit), I couldn?t get an answer from Legacy about the minimum amount of material they needed to fit a sink and faucet. My G.C. and I had to consult the countertop company that was doing the kitchen for guidance and make a guess. It was a possibility that the faucet would have to be offset, so I emailed and left Legacy instructions to expect to drill the faucet hole when they got to my house. I received confirmation that this would be no problem, but when the countertop was delivered, the hole for the faucet had already been cut. We were lucky that it worked out - my G.C. and his plumber had to be creative to get the faucet to fit. - After completing the sealant of the Carrara marble countertop, there was a bottle ring on my porcelain tile floor. I did not have a solvent that would remove it. Legacy scheduled to come out to clean it up. A friend stayed at my house waiting for them and they never showed up. They later admitted that they just forgot and missed the appointment. Out of over 13 vendors on this project, Legacy was the only one that was difficult to communicate with, untimely in its responses to critical inquiries and the only one that caused the project to over-run its projected completion date. As Legacy was my choice, not my G.C.s, I had to absorb this extra cost. As a small business, Legacy was not able to adjust for the loss of one of their main business parties and the whole operation suffered for it. I liked them as people but cannot recommend them as a business to anyone else.
Description of Work: I was doing a total remodeling of my kitchen and two bathrooms. I found Legacy here in Angie's List. They had glowing reviews and a good rating, so I decided to include them as one of the three quotes. Initially I had them quote the countertops in my kitchen and both bathrooms. I sent them and the other prospective vendors the same set of architectural drawings. In the end, I had Legacy complete only the two bathrooms, giving the kitchen to another company. This was because of difficulties that emerged during the project. At that point, I really wanted to pull the whole project and find another vendor. The only reason that I stayed with Legacy for the bathrooms is that I had changed the bathroom color schemes to match a limestone remnant and a Carara marble remnant that Legacy had on-site. Floor tiles, cabinet colors and wall paint were ordered based off of these countertop materials. Because of this, it would have been difficult, time consuming and costly to pull the complete job from Legacy after the communication problems began. However, since the kitchen countertop granite required brand new slabs, not remnants, I was not tied to Legacy and after a quick search, switched that portion over to Imported Stone. Please see my review of that experience.

Please excuse my delay in responding to this post. I have never had to do anything like this in 30 years. It was a little confusing to articulate. This project was the perfect "miscommunication" storm. Mutual understandings and expectations between the client, and the client's contractor and our team were not communicated clearly. Ultimately the client received a high quality product. Yet all felt the process was difficult. Again this is not the norm for Legacy. We have a 30 year legacy of high performance and pride in our work. With 1000's of satisfied clients. We stand prepared to support the next 1000 clients.

I have only positive things to say about this company. They came highly recommended to me, and now I know why. It's been a few years, so I no longer recall their names, but I really was impressed with the couple who owns it. The woman (Hildie??) was wonderful...very knowledgable, and extremely personable. She spent a lot of time driving me around to warehouses to see different marbles, etc. I'm sure she wanted to slap a few times, as I had a very hard time deciding, but she never let on if she did... she was very patient with me. Her husband was also super nice and helpful, and they were both extremely professional and totally dedicated to making me a satisfied customer. The installers were very courteous and excellent at their job. I chose very expensive marble, and the end result was absolutely gorgeous!! I feel they were very fair in their pricing...actually less expensive than some other places I had looked into at the time.
Description of Work: Purchased marble countertops, had them honed and installed. I was driven around to varioius marble/granite warehouses by one of the owners, until I found the marble I liked.
