I used this company to replace a broken window pane on my property. There professionalism is nonexistent and the company as a whole is slack to be nice. I had to call them over and over to get things done. Don't expect them to be on top of anything. As you have to be the one making sure things are done in a timely manner. Don't Use Them go with anybody else but them.

When we moved to Charlotte one shelf and one sculpted end piece of glass in our china cabinet were broken. Karsey Glass measured and obtained the glass for us, and Zonta and Dustin installed it today (9/21/21) to our complete satisfaction. I would hire Karsey again!

Earl and Jason installed my window today. They kept me informed on their estimated time of arrival. They were friendly, but very professional. They had the job done in much less time than expected. Would definitely use Karsey again and ask for these two. A+

They installed a 10' custom glass shower enclosure for us that ended up failing after a year. The glass panel started to come out of the wall and we were told it needed to come down immediately before someone got killed. They took the glass down and left us without anything for over a month before a new one was installed. Then, they refused to replace the shower curb that had holes in it from the old glass doors. They act like it's not a big deal that this happened and said we needed to fix the holes/ curb on our own. Their managers aren't helpful at all and act like total jerks. Most unprofessional company I have ever worked with.

Karsey replaced many panes on the west side of my house (est 70) that were visually defective, at no cost to me because the original installation contained defective glass, which was visible in late afternoon when the sun is low in the sky. Karsey was paid a large sum by the original supplier (who agreed the glass was defective and paid to have it replaced).. After Karsey replaced the glass, I reported that some of the replacements were also defective when installed. Karsey replaced about 6 of those panes, at no cost to me. At that time, I reported another 6 panes +/- (the angle of the sun had shifted exposing other defective panes), which was noted by the Karsey installer. After a long wait and no notice from Karsey, I called for service, but was told I had to pay for labor to install. I complained in several conversations with the staff (Billy) who insisted I pay for labor. There was no discussion about the glass quality. While friendly when I was able to contact someone knowledgeable, the staff was not responsive. I had to repeatedly call the company (no return calls) to get someone to deal with my issue and had to escalate my issue to the residential manager, Chad Moore, who did not return my call either. I had to call him again 11 days later. Mr. Moore was very friendly and agreed to inspect the windows, telling me they would replace the windows free if the inspector saw the defect, but would charge $200 otherwise. I readily agreed and scheduled an appointment, to which the inspector was a no show without notice. I had to call to reschedule, and was told the inspector decided to go home early the day of the appointment. The same inspector that noted the need to replace the windows earlier showed up for the second appointment and inspected the windows again. The residential manager sent me an email (no call) saying the glass was clear and he wouldn't replace the windows under warranty. There was no mention of his earlier offer of $200. I sent pictures showing the defect (the middle 4 horizontal panes in the picture attached) and asked if he had seen the pictures -- no response. This company treated me poorly -- unresponsive for the most part, and the quality of the glass was poor. I would strongly recommend against using this company for any job.

We initially went into the shop because of the positive ratings and because of the convenient location. We needed a new custom mirror installed to replace a defective mirror from an earlier master bath remodeling job. Upon arrival, we were shown frame samples that could be ordered for the new custom mirror. We took in pictures of our existing bathroom, and specified that we wanted a frame that would closely match the existing room trim. After picking out a brown sample, we were told that it was available in white, and ordered the frame style but with the white color. The price was about 30% higher than what was originally estimated over the phone, but we accepted that the price could vary with the frame style that was chosen. The delivery time was estimated to be two weeks. After three weeks with no communication, we called to get a status, and were told that the mirror was available. Delivery was scheduled for the following week. The installation crew arrived in a timely manner and did an excellent job of removing the old mirror which had been glued to the wall. Although we had expected some wall damage in the removal process, the crew did an excellent job and no damage was incurred. They took care to protect the tub surround from damage in the removal and installation process. The new mirror was carefully placed and adjusted to the homeowner's satisfaction. The only complaint with the installation was that the crew did track debris into the house and across carpeted areas. I would suggest in the future that they either remove shoes or put on shoe protectors. When the mirror was delivered, the frame was not the white color that was specified when it was ordered. After calling the office, sales staff stated that the brown / tan color on the sample was the "white" color. We had been told in the shop that the sample was not the final color, and that the frame was available in white to match the existing room trim. The sales staff offered to bring the mirror back into the shop and paint it, but we did not choose that option since 1) if it needed to be painted it would be better to use the existing room trim paint color, 2) it would be very inconvenient to have to schedule a second date for installation, and 3) there were other room updates already scheduled that would have to be delayed if the mirror was not installed. After calling the office, the sales staff made a price adjustment to compensate for the repainting of the wrong color frame. As for product quality, the corners of the frame were not mitered precisely and show gaps. I would have expected a better quality fit and finish for a mirror and frame that cost this much. The corners will have to be caulked during the repainting process to cover the gap areas. Overall, I am disappointed that a very expensive custom mirror still needs additional work and expense to be made right. The installation crew did a great job (except for the dirty shoes). The sales staff needs to be more knowledgeable of product offerings, and / or do a better job of communication. I would not recommend this provider for custom mirror work.

I have a wardrobe mirror that is cracked and needs to be replaced. After speaking with several people, who were nice, I spoke with Billy who runs the residential customers. He was nice enough, offered to pick up the mirror for free (waive the $25.00 pick up fee) since they would be in the area and the time did not matter. So the night before he calls me, says they will be there. Great I think. I lug the mirror so it is out front of my house. Had to wrap it up too since it was raining. Only I get a call on my cell phone from someone else asking if I still wanted the mirror picked up or to schedule for another day. Lazy I guess. So I called him back four times throughout the day, leaving three voice-mails. Called for Billy that night, left voice-mail, no one has ever tried to reach me. Totally lazy and unprofessional.
Description of Work: More like what they didn't do. Didn't show up. Didn't call back. Very disappointed. Totally unprofessional. Won't ever work wit them again.

We were scheduled for a visit and estimate regarding a new glass shower enclosure. The estimator never called or showed up. In early February 2012 I requested a quote for frameless shower doors from Karsey glass. The estimator showed up on the requested date. The tile in some areas had not been completed. I asked the estimator if he would be able to give me an estimate knowing that a final measure would be needed if his company was awarded the job. He agreed and took a rough measurement. I told him at the time that I would be getting three quotes and he understood. Ten days passed so I followed up with the company. I asked to speak with the original person that I had a discussion with (Larry). When I asked Larry if my quote was almost ready he informed me that they would not be providing a quote. When I asked why he said that the estimator told him that I was getting several quotes and that he could not be competitive. When I told him that I was only getting three quotes (an industry standard for prudent customers that want to get the best price and the best quality) he reiterated that they couldn't be competitive and he said that I was wasting their time. First of all how does he know that he can't be competitive? He didn't know who else I was getting to bid the job so there wouldn't be any way for him to know if he was competitive or not. Secondly, I have little respect for companies that tell you they will send you a quote and then don't even call you to tell you that they won't in fact be providing one. But Larry was right about one thing......I will never waste their time again. And they will never again waste my time, because their phone will never ring with me on the other end of the line. Very unprofessional!!

They came out on 9/9/2013 to look at the window and provide an estimate. One pane of the double-paned insulated window had been broken by a golf ball. I wanted to replace the glass rather than the window itself. He measured the window and the glass thickness. Our glass was slightly thicker than standard glass windows. Our house is 16 years old and the windows are original. We did get a discount for being an Angie's List member; he took a 50% discount. They called within the week to schedule the installation. Two installers arrived on 9/17/2013. They removed the broken window carefully, vacuumed up any broken glass. The work was done outside. The window was brought back inside and replaced. It was clean, clear, and perfectly repaired. It looked absolutely perfect. The installers were professional, helpful, and kind. I paid the remaining amount and our transaction was completed. When the initial estimate was done, they also mentioned that they did shower enclosures. I did get them to do an estimate for our upstairs shower. I was impressed by the changes they suggested in the design of the enclosure. This remains an option. I am still waiting for an e-mail of the design specifications on the shower enclosure.

We were never called to say that the order was delayed. When we called to get a status on our order, it took a long time for them to locate it. There was always an excuse as to why the order was not yet ready. Finally, when I picked up the two pieces of glass -- got it home -- cleaned them to put them on the tops of our 2 new end tables -- and noticed that one of the glass tops had a huge scratch. Obviously, there was no quality assurance done by Karsey before the order was released. I returned the scratched item to the store -- they said they would have another one made. Same issues. I had to call them to find out the status -- then, I learned that the glass cutter was having surgery -- when he returned to work the following Monday, they would call me to let me know when the order would be ready. With no call from Karsey, I went to their store yesterday to get the status on the glass. They found that the glass had been cut but had not yet been beveled. They didn't know when it would be finished. At that time, I requested a full refund -- for both pieces of glass. They provided the credit and told us it would take 3 to 5 business days for the credit to appear on our account -- "that was out of their control -- that was due to the bank". Obviously, EVERYTHING at Karsey Glass, Inc. (South Boulevard in Charlotte, NC) is out of their control. NEVER again, will I go there. Could you imagine dealing with that if you were waiting on them to finish your shower enclosure?
Description of Work: Over the phone, Karsey Glass took our order for 2 custom furniture-top beveled glass -- required our pre-payment by credit card -- said the glass would be ready in 5 yo 7 business days. That was on in May, 2013.

Unfortunately, our cutter has recently learned that he has lung cancer. This caught us by surprise and blindsided us without a back up plan. Our cutter was a very talented individual. We are in the process of looking for another glass cutter and hope to have that positioned filled by the end of the week. Sometimes people get sick and this did catch us off guard. We realize this is a part of business and this is unacceptable, but please accept of apology.

We got them from angie's list. We looked at suggestions online and ended up with Karsey Glass. Our experience with them is not great. They told us that they can have the job done within two weeks. It took a little longer that they expected. That added a little time. I was disappointed because they could not expedite it. They have been doing a great job of keeping up with the status of it. I called them last week and asked them with the project. They will have both the door and panel on tuesday. They will call me on tuesday to confirm that and schedule the time. They called me yesterday, that was thursday. They scheduled for me at 10:30 then they called me and moved it at 12:00. The guy shows up today and discovered that the job site with the replacement door had the exact problem of having the hole in the wrong place. The custom measured piece does not fit. I had call them to ask about the next steps. They have not failed just yet but it is not great. Their price was very competitive. They promised to be pro active with us. We expect that they would give a receipt when we gave them a credit card. We expected them to email that and promised that they would call on tuesday. They just come when they want when they knew they had an appointment to do the measurement. They showed up at 11: 30 instead of 12:30. They said that they were done early with something else. They did not call earlier. They were suppose to be here at 12:00 today, but they had other jobs that took too long.
Description of Work: We used Karsey Glass. Along with our bathroom remodel, we had to do a glass enclosure for orbiters bathroom. They are building a frame less glass door for our shower. They had to cut the door that was swinging. They also had to measure the stationary panel that goes in the other half. They came out to hung the door and take the measurements. They had to remake the door because their glass supplier had a bar in the place.

Wow, we apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we saw a mistake from the hardware company whereby they didn't make the towelbar to specifications. We never see this mistake; typically it is the glass that is wrong. Also, your shower is unique with slanted glass and that presented a challenge as well. We will work to get this shower completed and you happy with the finish product. Again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Around mid-October I called Karsey glass for an estimate. The rep came out and took measurements. An invoice was emailed a day or two later. Although, it wasn't terribly expensive there were a few other things we needed to take care of financially, first. A little over a month later I called back. The original estimate had been for 30 days, but because of the job they were able to use that quote and told me they were 14 days out and would call then to schedule a time to bring the work. At that time, I paid a 50% deposit too. Well, the deposit went through, but I didn't hear from anyone. In December, I emailed them wondering. They apologized and said it was the busy season, so I said no worries we could take care of it after the holidays. In January, we did get the glass delivered and it looks great. The guys who brought it were very professional and explained the care of it. For instance, when moving not to pick up the large piece straight up because it could break. We will use them again for any future glass needs.
Description of Work: We got three custom cut 1/4 inch pieces of glass for our kitchen table, dining table, and side piece in the dining room. We wanted to be able to see the wood grain from the furniture we bought, but keep it protected. We weren't sure how expensive getting custom cut glass was going to be, but are happy we paid less than 1000 for the jobs done. Another company we called quoted almost the same amount of money and we had to pick up the glass or it would be delivered to the door for an extra fee.

It went well except for the fact that it took the guys quite a while to remove the glass from the first window. It wasn't any fault of theirs, just that the vinyl strips that hold the window in place were difficult to remove. Ultimately, they had to break the glass. Once it was out, they put the new glass in. During the process, the window latch broke and that had to be replaced which they did. After it was installed, I noticed the widow was rubbing against the frame and making a noise so the latch had to be adjusted a few more times to get it properly fit. The second window was easy and came out quickly. In addition, their price was over $100.00 less than another big name company so it doesn't always pay to go with the big companies.

The glass door arrived and the installer put it in. It was hazy due to the finishing process. The installer pointed it out prior to me having to do it. We sent it back. I called to inquire about a quote for a standard bathroom mirror installation. After the estimate was given over the phone, I called back to make an appointment for an on site measurement. I was told another person would need to call me back to set the appointment. I waited two days, and called again to inquire about the appointment. I was told I would have to speak to the Scheduler, and was transferred to them (who just happened to be scheduling appointments for the next day). The appointment was confirmed and the Rep showed up on time to take the measurements for the mirror. He probably was not on site more than 10 minutes. I placed the order for the mirror the same day, and was told it would take approximately 7-10 business days for the delivery and installation. Around day10, someone called to schedule the installation. The mirror was installed the following day in about 30 minutes. No problems encountered. Karsey Glass does good work, but it is a SLOW process from order placement to installation. 3-4 weeks to complete a routine project with a local company seems a bit much. Customer follow up could have been better as well.

Started rough, but turned out well.
Description of Work: Had vandalism at my daughters house on two windows, a bedroom and bath. Both had storm windows also. They came out, gave me an estimate and I approved the estimate. It took much longer than they originally commited to get glass back and schedule the repair. After work was supposedly complete, I went out to inspect. Some of the glazing was not redone on the bedroom window and the technican claimed that he could not replace the storm window. Update- The owner called me, scheduled a Supervisor to come out. He came, took note of what was needed and returned to finish the job. I am now very satisfied.
