It didn't go as well as hoped. Jim argued with most of my requests. He would give me his contradictory advice & then add "but I'll do it if you want me to". Some of his advice was valuable --a) some of our established plants are drought resistant and don't need extra irrigation and b) the gardens that were receiving lawn sprinkler overspray don't need additional irrigation. I was disappointed that Jim did not make any attempt to bury the new drip lines in existing mulch (1-1.5" thick) saying the there wasn't enough mulch and I would need to cover them with new mulch (expensive & time consuming for me). I was also disappointed that Jim installed drip lines that have perforations every few inches instead of the emitters that we have elsewhere in our yard. The emitter approach is more water conservative. And yet, Jim didn't ask me which approach I wanted to use and didn't mention his choice and rationale. I only noticed the change in drip lines after he left. And lastly, I paid too much for what we received. Jim charges by the hour -- included the time that he took to argue with me & his repetition of estimates and the work that would be involved. The price paid seems steep for what we received. And yet, his quoted price for winterization and spring start up are highly competitive.

Cable company subcontractors were upgrading equipment in our neighborhood. We had flagged our irrigation heads so they knew where there were and could avoid damaging them. Needless to say, they still ended up breaking one of them. We called Jim who was able to come out quickly and replace the rotor. Great service and very professional.

I've been using Jim for years to winterized and summarize our irrigation and any other irrigation issues we have. He is always prompt and responsive and his prices are great. He never trys to sell me anything and provides good objective advice. For example I converted much of our system to drip a few years ago and now I wish I hadn't. I had a long discussion with Jim about converting back but he noted that there are pro and cons to both systems. He could have tried to talk me into converting back, netting himself some work but that wasn't the case. I highly recommend Jim.

Great. Jim promptly came to our home and waked us through what needed to be done and why, before he started a relatively expensive job. He went out of his way to fix an backflow valve as opposed to replacing it, to save us money. He is timely, reliable, fair and reasonable. We will continue to use Jim in the future and recommed him to anyone looking for help with their irrigation system.

Nothing to add except that I needed someone immediately because of a leak that was causing a puddle to form in the middle of my lawn. I found Jim on the third try and he was the only one who would agree to come out the same day. He was on my property within two hours. He was able to shut off the irrigation system for the weekend and came out the following Tuesday and found and repaired the problem. He did not charge for the original trip and came back a third time (because I was not home to give him access to the whatjamcallit in my garage :)) to do my spring start up. Needless to say, I will not only use him for all future irrigation issues, but will happily recommend him to friends and neighbors.

He was great and very professional. He was reasonable on price and did great work. He checked the whole system for me and programmed everything. I will definitely use him again. He didn't mind explaining things and was helpful, and I really liked him.

We called Jim because we read good things about him on Angie's List. We had originally called him to repair a leaking valve (which was leaving a puddle in our yard), but had numerous other problems with our 20-year-old irrigation system. Jim not only quickly diagnosed the problem causing the leak -- and fixed it that same day -- but replaced our outdated control panel, and repaired and readjusted several broken sprinkler heads. By the time he left, we had a functional irrigation system. Other contractors told us we would have been better off replacing the whole system with a new one, but Jim got our old system working for just over $500. We were very happy with his work.

The experience overall was excellent. Jim came out within a couple of days to perform general maintenance on my irrigation system which is several years old. He checked out all of the sprinkler heads, replacing one, adjusting 3 or 4 and capping one because it was spraying directly on my lawn furniture. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He came back the next month to perform the back flow test.

I left a message, he called within an hour, and was at my house in another hour to fix the problem. He did so at a fair price, and is now my go-to-guy for lawn irrigation.

Mr. Marshall was able to offer us 2 plans which was different from the other 2 companies that only offered one plan. Mr. Marshall also offered to do the work in 3 stages to see if it was really necessary to go the most expensive route. He showed up when promised, performed the work quickly and was flexible in order to meet our schedules. As it ended up, only 2 stages of the work plan were required to solve the problem and this saved us a lot of money.

Jim showed up on time. He was able to immediately resolve the issue with the sprinkler head by installing a missing filter. He went over the entire system trying to identify the issue with the drip line. He narrowed it down to a few different things it could be, however could not go further w/o digging which I was not ready to undertake at this time. He explained in depth how I could do it myself or offered to come back. The price was extremely reasonable for the amount of time he spent.

I have used him several times. He is always punctual and reasonable.

Jim arrived 10 minutes early. He evaluated the issue and fixed it relatively fast. He took all the time I needed to answer my questions about the system and how I should be watering.
