About us

Jim Dickerson Company, Plumbing, Electrical, Heating & Air is a family owned and operated company serving the Charlotte and surrounding areas. Jim, a Charlotte native, learned the plumbing trade from his father-in-law, Chester H. Creed, and worked with him for many years before starting his own company. Jim, along with his wife Judy, formed Jim Dickerson Plumbing in 1977. What began as a one truck operation has grown steadily over the years, and today we have a fleet of over 20 service vans. In 2005, we moved to our current 11,000 square foot location. This facility includes a 7,000 square foot warehouse that allows us to stock many commonly used parts, water heaters, and fixtures which helps us in providing prompt service. Jim's daughters, Debbie and Angie, decided after college to join the company and they currently manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including Customer Service, Sales and Marketing, and Accounting. Fabulous. Brian Robeson was my plumber and he was excellent!!!!! He was very knowledgeable, thoughtful and helpful. When running into roadblocks, Brian came up with solutions and always kept the customer in mind. He is great and I will request him in the future.

There was one thing I didn't like, which was probably out of his control, his machine actually chipped off a piece of brick. I mean it's not serious. It would've been difficult to replace. It was broken broken, it was just a little piece chipped off.

David arrived on time, was friendly, and professional. I had been told their hourly rate would be $157. David quickly diagnosed the problem and fully explained explained the solution and as well as some additional potential issues. As it turns out the leaking was due to broken tiles and missing grout so there was nothing for him to actually repair.

Company messed up the original appt. but sent a tech out to perform the work an hour and 1/2 later in the day. Tech was very pleasant and very informative. As far as I can see he did a very professional job.

They're very responsive. They showed up on time. I called them the day before and they arranged a time to come right out the next day. Everything was fixed and completed quickly. Very professional people.
Description of Work: They fixed an outside water tap that had been leaking. The stoppers for two of the sinks in the bathroom, we had put in by a handyman, but we had them come out to fix those because they were not right. They were not installed properly.

Description of Work: I needed HVAC maintenance and a noise investigated; Plumbing to find the source of a tub leak; Electrical to take out an outdated home intercom system. Bob (HVAC), Don and Josh (Electrical), and Dan (Plumbing) were all extremely courteous and professional. They answered any questions I had and were very willing to point out a few things that I should be aware of as a homeowner. I hope to not need most of these services again, as I'm hoping I'm done with repairs, but if I do need any of these services in the future, I will contact Jim Dickerson and specifically request these knowledgeable professionals :).

Exceptionally well! Very prompt. Switch needed was in the technician's truck and was installed quickly. Very pleased. Also, spent a good amount of time explaining how different types of pot lights could be accessed for future service.

Joey was our electrician. I called first thing in the morning, they had an electrician out by 8:30 and it was done by 9:30. Prompt and efficient. Fixed the problem, so I am very happy with their work.

We had another plumber that had replaced the cartridge and the shower was still leaking. The other plumber said the next step was to drill a hole through the wall in our bedroom and replace possible pipes, etc. Because this was going to be so exude waited, but the leak became worse. Thank goodness we called Jim Dickson Plumbing for a second opinion. They came out and replaced the cartridge, they said the previous one was defective. They used a better grade device. We have not had a problem since. Will go to them first next time!
