Description of Work: We contacted them twice to give us an estimate on finishing a 3rd floor attic and they never called back.

Description of Work: Jim came out and walked through the items that I was looking to upgrade, repair, or replace. He was friendly and professional. He also mentioned several times that he usually only does large jobs but felt he could fit mine in between. Indicated that he would have an estimate to me within a week. Never received one so i sent an email asking for the status; he replied that he would call me the next day. Never heard from him since. I ended up going with another contractor and doing much more that I had originally thought. If Jim wasn't able to fit me in; a simple phone call or email would have been enough.

Description of Work: Though scheduling prevented me from using JC Builders, I thought my positive interaction with them was worth passing onto others looking for a general contractor. The scope of my remodeling job was moving a kitchen, creating a laundry closet and updating/rearranging two bathrooms. When starting my remodeling project, James from JC Builders was the third GC I met at my house to review the building plans on-site. I was impressed with his professionalism. He arrived on time, studied the plans and the existing house thoroughly, brought up a lot of structural points that bore examination before he could quote, and asked a lot of questions about my expectations for the remodel job as far as finish and quality level, timing and features. Most importantly, he took the time to listen to what I thought that I wanted and asked for clarification. He then offered alternatives in areas where he had concerns. I learned a lot from him in this review and ended up modifying some of my requests based on his experience. James also came out to the house for a second visit after sitting down and reviewing the plans on his own so that he could clarify some questions that he had. I liked that he wanted to get the quote correct the first time to eliminate any surprises after the commencement of the project. As stated, scheduling kept me from using JC Builders, but James’ quote was one of the most thorough that I received and his pricing and timing were right in line with what I expected. He covered all the bases and was very pleasant to interact with. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering a remodeling job or even a total house build.

Description of Work: First off, my apologies to James. He and his crew did a great job and deserved to have a good posting put out here a lot sooner than this! Basicially, we had he and his employees remove an existing overhead on our deck and then install a 12 x 20 covered roof over the deck. The project included changing of the steps, installing 6x6 posts, two exterior fans with lights, etc. James (the owner) was great to work with, was very customer centric and his guys did a great job. He along did the job at 2k to 4k less than several other bids and did not sacrifice quality to do it. A also had him to a few minor changes and he did them basically at his cost...extend dryer vent under deck, replace and paint trim board elsewhere, etc. We did have a few conversations on things to be addressed along the way but in the end, he always did what was right for the customer. As an example, needed a price of siding that he ran all over town trying to match and eventually found it! I consider James a very honest, hard working person and would highly recommend him. I would definately use him on future projects if they arise! Thanks James, Bob
