Horne Heating and Air Conditioning

From start to finish our experience with Horne Heating & Air Conditioning was excellent. Everybody was responsive, professional, and pleasant to deal with. The cost for this project was fair and we love the functionality that the Trane mini split provides for our sunroom. We will be using Horne Heating & Air Conditioning again in the future for all of our HVAC needs.

Our service technician, Mike, arrived on time. We had just purchased our home and Mike did a thorough job inspecting our heating unit and explaining how the system works. Being from New England we are not used to a furnace in the attic. Mike was very professional and courteous. He estimated the life left in our system and the probable costs of repair vs. replacing the unit.

All four units are functioning great under the regular care of Horne Heating and Air.

The technician called ahead to let me know when he would arrive. He cleaned both furnaces and found two small repairs that needed to be addressed. He issued a quote to have the repairs completed and had his customer service rep call me to set up an appointment. We have already used them again when our heater stopped working during the cold spell.

Everything was great. The only problem I had was obtaining a list of the 20 Points of Service. I requested it 3 times and never received it.

I had one of their competitors perform maintenance my system on Feb 28th. The night of March 3rd (three days later) my furnace stopped working. The competitor came out the morning of March 4th and said I needed a new furnace, but it would be two days before someone could come give me a quote and it may take another two weeks for the replacement unit to come in... ...so I called Horne. Within an hour they had someone at my house giving me a quote on a new unit. I called around to check prices and learned that the amount they quoted me was very competitive. Long story short I had a new furnace installed and a warm house again in less than 24 hours from when I initially called Horne. All of the installers were friendly and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks again Horne!

Tech showed up on time and proceeded with the work. After he was done he gave a review of the system and waht to do to keep it in good shape.

It went well. The technition's name was Doug Farmer and he did a great job. He was very professional.

Called promptly to set up appt. Arrived on time. While I have no doubt they are a good company, my main impression was that all they wanted was to replace ,my whole system and for a high price. I didn't get a written report on what they found or did to tune-up my gas furnace which is what the "big deal" was supposed to be, all they told me was the system was past its useful life and needed to be replaced including the air conditioner. Gave me several options including an energy saving a/c with two speeds, Also offered to provide financing (with a bank I won't do business with). I told them I wasn't interested and they left.

Technician arrived, donned shoe covers to protect our floors and immediately went to inspect the furnace. He then reported on his concerns. He arranged for me to meet with one of Horne's salesmen to review various fixes and what they would cost. The salesman arrived on time and gave me detailed proposals to fix problems with the furnace.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out fine. I did not have any issues. Their price was good. They came on time. They were very receptive on the telephone too, when I had called there was a gentleman there that was very very good as far as customer service and in getting this whole thing setup. I paid them more than the actual big deal purchase, as they did put in something. I think they have some pretty good deals relative to some of these other companies.

I moved to Charlotte, NC in August of 2013. The home I purchased had a 2 yr old Trane HVAC installed and serviced by Horne. I went under a service contract with them for maintenance of the HVAC and have been very pleased. Recently, I had a tankless water heater installed by them. The professionalism and expertise of this company is supreme. I met one of the owners and several techs and have been extremely happy with their service. They are courteous, prompt and complete each job in a timely manner. I had relationships with all my service providers for many years in FL. It's always a little challenging to move to a new state and have to develop working relationships with all new companies and people. Horne was one of my first experiences in Charlotte and I'm very happy! I highly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed.

This company is hands down THE BEST! Working with Horne Heating and Air was beyond a great experience, I really can not say enough about this company. Our family had a pretty bad situation going on with our recently purchased home's HVAC and hot water heater. We had a lot of estimates before Horne but when Mike came out to do the estimate we knew we were in good hands-we didn't look any further. He was thorough, professional and prompt in answering any questions we had before, during and after the installation process. The men that came to install our HVAC and tankless water heater were hard working and professional. They are truly experts and we couldn't be any happier with the finished result and fair price. We needed to replace two HVAC systems in our 20+ year old house. John originally came out to give me the estimate. He was very knowledgable and personable. He earned our business by providing a thorough quote and detailed explanations for his recommendations. After we had agreed to work with Horne, John brought out his lead installer who had "bad news" for us. Turns out that we needed to relocate the 2nd floor HVAC because its current location wouldn't pass inspection. (The previous owners had finished the 3rd floor and boxed the HVAC unit into an "inaccessible" location). In the end, we feel it was the right decision to relocate the HVAC - but it increased the cost significantly. We felt a bit "taken" by Horne but didn't really want to start the bidding process over as we had no 2nd floor AC in June. We would have been much more satisfied if this had been addressed prior to the initial bid. The installation crew - Brandon and Brandon - worked very hard in a very hot attic. They were neat, professional & polite. There were a couple of small things that were overlooked but once they were brought to their attention they were taken care of. We have not heard from Horne since the final inspections and payment. A followup call from Horne - perhaps after the heat came on in the fall, would have been an appreciated gesture. Overall, I would recommend Horne to others.

We called Horne because of reviews on Angie's List. I did not shop, as the price was on target. The company impressed us and we had a seamless experience. They were wonderfully neat, cautious, and very professional.

We were very happy with our service from Doug F. of Horne Heating and Air Conditioning. To start, the person who answered our call and also helped coordinate the repair and the part, was very helpful and professional. Our furnace had stopped working. Doug came out very soon after and diagnosed the issue quickly and correctly. A part was required that had to be overnighted. He came back the next day and put it in and it works perfectly. He was very professional and communicated all the information needed in a timely manner. He also wore shoe covers when entering the house, which was nice because the furnace is under the house where the floor is dirt. We will definitely call them again.

Used them for 2 locations, home and rental. Both times they tried to upsell to various other services. The tune up was cheap to get them in the door so they can sell other services. Check out the rating on Price... Nice fellows and company was fine, just be wary.

They rendered a high and unrealistic cost estimate. Wanted to go beyond the needed scope of the project proposing that all the ducting needed changing out as well. Oversold. Used Dulin Mechanical and job went excellently and at reasonable cost.

The technician was very courteous and called when 10 minutes from the house, which was when he said he would arrive. Even fixed a rattle when the blower motor was running. I will definitely use them again.

That service went fine and they did the furnace tune for me. Just one technician came out and they came out within the time frame that they quoted me. Scheduling was just fine. The technician was very courteous and nice. They were having an issue with their payment process system though and it did take awhile for that to get resolved.

The service turned out fine, and I haven't had any problems. They were efficient, they were good, and they came out on time, and did what they said they were going to do.

That turned out fine. They came out and checked out our furnaces. We had two furnaces that we had them look at.

Horne was very responsive when I called to request service (on a Saturday by the way). The problem was diagnosed quickly and they kept me in the loop the entire time. The part had to be ordered directly from the manufacturer. When the part arrived Horne called me to schedule the repair. On the day of that the repair was scheduled the technician that was assigned to perform the repair was stuck at another location. Horne dispatched another technician (Mike) to my home and had a courier bring the part. Mike did an excellent job as well as Doug that came out initially to diagnose the issue. I have to admit I was impressed at the effort by Horne. This was my first time using Horne and I will absolutely use them again for future HVAC services and repairs.

It worked out fine. It was really nice. They just plan everything for me. They have a good price.
