My condo has a window that was no longer square probably due to the building settling. After years of trying to get Pete Hiltz, the property manager, to resolve the problem. I contacted the City of Charlotte for assistance. Pete hired a man who I believe lacked the skills to do the work properly. Even the drywall work around the window was poorly done. Pete told me the opening was square. I was not aware that Pete did not have the window work inspected as he was required to do. I am responsible for the glass in the window. I called window glass companies to give me quotes on replacing the glass. The first company looked at the window and told me that he would not put glass in the window. The second company took the window apart, took many measurements and determined that the window opening which is part of the building is not square. Now I have to go through having the wall opened up again so it can be inspected by the city. Pete called me on 4/15/15 and told me multiple times that the window is square. I would not choose to use Pete Hiltz again but as long as he is the Property Manager here I may not have a choice. Update 5/15/2015 I hired Intelligent Design Engineering to evaluate the window opening and they determined the opening was 3/4" out of square. I sent this report to the Association Board and Pete Hiltz on 4/26/15. On 5/8/2015 Pete came to my condo and said they have agreed to replace the window but I have to pay half. Update 7/12/2015 Hiltz Management installed the new window on 6/16/2015 however they left a 3/4" gap on the bottom half of the window on the left side where the window was out of square. The men who installed the window said they would be back in a couple of days to fix it. As of today the gap is still there.

As a property manager he was not only rude and rarely responded but would try to cut costs by cutting corners. There were several issues with our townhouse ( including a flood) that took weeks to resolve or were not resolved at all. The contact that we were provided violated renter's rights (we brought it to an attorney) and we were not compensated for loss of use during the time it took to resolve the flood in our home ( 4 weeks!!!) I would avoid working with this company and Pete Hiltz at all costs in my personal opinion.
