2/11/19 - Hired Ken to Demo and rebuild kitchen Island. He told me in addition to rebuilding my island, he could paint, reface my cabinets, and install counter tops etc for $5500. I gave him a $2500 deposit that night. I was already in the process of replacing my flooring, floor contractor was scheduled to start on 2/12/19. Evening of 2/12/19 my husband had a heart attack, I was in IUC with him when on 2/13/19 I received a message from my flooring contractor that he found rotting joists and mold, floor installation had to halt until issue was resolved. I contacted Ken to see if that was something he could help with. He said yes and that he would go over to my house. Ken call me and said he could fix for 875.25, I sent him the money via a cash app. The next day 2/14, I was still with my husband in ICU and Ken called me and said he found more damage and would need 925.00. I sent him the money via cash app. When I got home that evening, Ken was at the house with his workers. I told him I needed a write up of materials and labor cost so I know what the $ was going to. Needless to say, I was in the middle of chemo while dealing with all of this. Spent $6264.25 and nothing to show for it.

At the time I hired mr. Harris, I was going through chemo. None the less we were having our floors done because of water damage and I needed my island demo’d ASAP and a new one built after the flooring was completed. So I hired Mr. Harris on 2/11 to build a kitchen island, he came right over and said he could also update our kitchen. I paid him $2500 on the spot for a kitchen remodel. On 2/12 my husband had a heart attack while the flooring guy was working. That evening while at the hospital the flooring guy called to tell me he found water damage to the joists and black mold. Being in the position I was in, I called mr Harris to see if he could go to my house and look to see what damage was there. He said he could fix it all, but it would cost $1800. When I got home I cash appd the $. The next day again I was at the hospital and mr Harris calls saying he needed more $ for materials and to pay his crew for the work. I sent it. Same thing happened the next day, I sent more. When I was finally able to bring my husband home, I didn’t see mr Harris but maybe 1 more time. I gave him a total of $6300 and when I checked behind his work he claimed to do, it wasn’t done. He said he was coming, never showed. He would go a week without hearing from him. I was left caring for my husband, dealing with my own cancer, 7 people in the home and NO KITCHEN. I gave mr Harris all my savings thinking he was helping us get this work done. We just finally got our kitchen completed a week ago. We had to save more $ to finish the job with a different contractor. I will let every person I can know what this man did to us and will proceed legally. Please never call this man or allow him in your home. He is a liar, deceitful and manipulative. I asked him several times for 1/2 of the money back and he wouldn’t pay. I had too get the city to come pick up all his mess. He pulled up my molding and threw it away. Broke my back door. Removed my bathroom sink and didn't put it back. Paid for ALL foyer boards to be replaced, only did partial. raised parts of my floor without discussing..now my downstairs is hilly.. Please do not hire him he'll take your deposit/money and set up appointments and never show up or call to cancel. When call to see whats going on this man makes up sooooo many Excuses Excuses Excuses. After 3 months of nothing I asked fir my money back he states in goong through a bankruptcy. I had to get the police involved next step court. Please do not hire him PLEASE.

Was hired and paid to do a project at my home. Was given a deposit of $3950.00 Once he got the deposit, he never showed up to do the work. That was December 2017, It is now March 2018 that I am writing this review. He always had an excuse, Never returned my money. Had to be taken to court. In which he did not show up. After looking at the evidence, the judge ruled against him. This man, Ken Harris of Harris Affordable, is deceitful and is a scammer. Do not hire or come close to him in conversation. He also uses the Masonic symbol on his card and says he works for the government to lure unsuspecting people to trust him. This man should be jailed. Do not trust this company. I repeat, Do NOT trust this company.
