We had an excellent experience at Harkey. I had visited 4 tile shops with no success. A friend recommended Harkey and I’m so thankful she did! Ally was extremely helpful, patient and accommodating to my son’s needs. She allowed us to take tile samples home and assisted with our final decision. It was a great experience!

Great! Holly was my designer and she was awesome. I had used her once before. They are really pleasant to work with and very knowledgeable. They are always extremely helpful and I would recommend them to others.

Harkey installed quartz and marble countertops for our kitchen renovation and we had a great experience with them. John Johnson was very easy to work with and recommended beautiful selections for our countertops. The installation crew was very professional. We were most impressed with how they planned the layout - very large sections of quartz were used but only one seam was necessary and it's almost invisible. Great work! Would not hesitate to use them again.

John was extremely dismissive and downright rude. Also, the quote he provided me 3 days later was about double what other fabricators had estimated. At first I thought maybe it was an off day because I visited on a Friday afternoon and perhaps he was ready to be done with work... but later when talking to a family friend, she specifically advised to avoid one Harkey employee in particular (and then proceeded to describe John to a T). So I know I'm not the only person who has had a bad experience with him. I visited Harkey a second time approximately 10 days later, hoping to have a better experience if I used a different sales rep. Terri was very helpful, however 48 hours later I still don't have a quote. I feel like I genuinely tried to give this company multiple chances. Maybe they are more responsive to bigger customers...?? Not real sure how they stay in business with the level of customer service I experienced.

Vendor did not deliver entire product that was purchased. Defects were discovered in product upon installation. Vendor claimed that the defects were pre-existing at time of purchase. Vendor repaired one of the defects of workmanship. Several months later, vendor claimed to have delivered remaining portion of original product purchased. Items delivered were smaller and not from original product purchased. Vendor continued to ask for payment in full for services not rendered and poor workmanship. Though complaints were vocalized throughout the 6 months long process, never once did the vendor offer a reduction in balance in compensation for delivery of an incomplete and substandard product. First offer of compensation from vendor to customer was presented as an ultimatum with 23 hours to respond. The offer was either acceptance of a reduction in total cost of original price by 0.0375% or a lien would be placed on customers property. Currently in contact with Angie's List Complaint Resolution department to address this situation.

It went very well. They were very careful even with a few obstacles they were able to complete all three counter tops at the same time. The process was amazing from beginning to end from sale to completion of work it went great.

We set up an appointment to view granite and marble selections in order to replace two vanity tops in our house. After a lengthy process of choosing color and material and filling out paperwork, we were told that our selection would have to be located and then priced. They would "get back with us after the estimating department reviewed the material request". This approach sounded reasonable since we did not need a whole slab; we only needed a 'remnant'. We never heard back from Harkeys. Luckily we had started the same process concurrently with another supplier, Intown Granite, who was extremely responsive, so responsive, in fact, that we never really missed the fact that Harkey's never responded. Obviously, however, the time spent with Harkey's was totally wasted.

Great they measure and arrived on time. Installed on time. There was an issue with an overhang on our island which was resolved and the piece was secured. No complaints..

This is my third home renovation with Jeff and Harkey Tile and Stone. I always look forward to this part of the reno because working this them is so easy with an extensive selection to choose from. I have referred many folks to Harkey over the years and all of them are pleased with the value and service. I won't go anywhere else.

They subcontracted a contractor to install the tile, which turned out great. They were very prompt. We have used them in the past. They always do great work.

I thought that they were professional, had a good selection, and that they were easy to work with.

Harkey cut and installed our granite for a bathroom remodel. The end product was great however, from the template to the actual delivery of our granite was 3 weeks. That is simply way too long and has had my remodel seemingly going on forever. Then it was to be installed on a Tuesday. After no work on our remodel for those 3 weeks, the day was finally here. Contractor was ready but Harkey did not show. They said they called and left a message that they needed one more day. That call may have happened but I never received a voice mail. They did show the next day, 2 hours late. This is my take. Small business owners are getting busy as the economy heats up. Then, please hire people to service your customers. 3 weeks from template to delivery is WAY too long. I will look elsewhere for our next bathroom remodel next summer. I felt midlead.

Decided not to do the project

They showed up on time and had excellent communication except for not following up with me to find out what I wanted to do with the leftover granite. Looks great. My other complaint is the selection in their yard is limited, and I had to drive around to different warehouses of other companies to find the slabs I wanted. I'm happy overall with my experience.

Jeff Harkey worked with me to ensure that I was able to get the countertops I wanted rather than trying to suggest I choose a different countertop from his stock like all of the other granite places I had gone to had done. I was very happy about this as I had my heart set on the black galaxy granite countertops. All of the people at Harkey Tile and Stone were very helpful and did their best to make sure that my countertops were exactly as they should be and that they were installed correctly. I am very happy with my countertops. Thank you Jeff and everyone else at Harkey Tile and Stone!

Very professional and excellent quality of work

I worked with Pam Greenwood, Design Consultant. She was WONDERFUL... insightful, resourceful... she has such a kind and helpful way about her that she instantly earned my trust and respect. We found a gorgeous piece of granite for my wet bar and also selected the backsplash. Harkey Tile & Stone is a highly credible company with an outstanding inventory of products. I would use them again, and again and again!

I researched granite companies to some extent before choosing Harkey Tile. They were the most professional and had the best prices available. I decided to replace my current cabinets instead of putting new granite on the old ones upon their recommendation. I knew I could trust what they said. It was a very good decision too. They waited patiently and promised as soon as the cabinets were installed, they would template again the day after. They did so and I got my kitchen back promptly. Would definitely recommend.

I met Reid at his Sunnyside Avenue location. He was as friendly and nice as could be. He showed me all the various scrap pieces that were available. I found one that I wanted and he refused to take the cash I offered him. Instead, he asked that if I ever need marble/granite/stone work, to please keep him in mind ... and to tell my friends. Reid then asked one of his staff to place the heavy marble piece I selected into my car's trunk. Thank you, Reid!

My general contractor uses Harkey Tile as their counter tops supplier. I was very impressed with their showroom, personnel, and quality of product. No high pressure tactics were used. Holly, the sales rep., was very informal and treated us like we were special. She gave us impute on the type and color we should use to go with our new cabinets, even gave us some suggestions on the backsplash. I was grateful for it because I had never had either one, I needed all the help I could get. She showed us through the warehouse where they keep the granite and even had a guy move several pieces in order for us to make a selection in better lighting. She even informed us we could come back at a latter date to view some more recent selections, which we did. The Granite looks great in my kitchen and every one, from the gentleman who came to measure the counter tops to the guys who installed it can take a lot of credit for it. I say thank you all at Harkey Tile for a wonderful sales experience, and Keep up the GOOD work, you guys are really great at what you do.

We went to Harkey's showroom with our General Contractor to select counter tops for our major remodel. Jeff showed us several possibilities in the showroom but we quickly decided it would be better to see their whole inventory, and he drove us to their nearby warehouse. We wanted a style that was both good looking and as economical as possible to fit within the budget allowance. We went over budget in order to get a single slab that could be the top of our island without cutting it. We also found several other pieces in their remnant area that worked perfectly in our bathrooms. So overall, the budget held up pretty well. Harkey held on to our slabs for 3 months until time for installation. Their crews were very professional and easy to work with, they even re-cut a piece that did not fit as snugly in the opening as we liked. Overall, we are completely satisfied with Harkey Tile and Stone's products and people.

I went inside this store to look for tile for a back splash. It is my guess that they are not geared towards walk in business. After being told someone would be with us shortly, we waited 15 minutes and then left. There was a woman who then followed us out to car to ask if she could help.She was a little rude so we went on our way...to another tile store across town; where we purchased beautiful glass subway tile. As I said before it is my guess they are not geared to walk in/do it yourselfers. Displays are hodge podge and no prices displayed. I really would have really liked to find a great tile store closer to me. Lowes and Home Depot don't seem to carry the quality of tile I need.
