Global Turf Irrigation

Global Turf Irrigation came out quickly and they were able to diagnose the issue where previous companies had not. They came back the next week and fixed the issue for less than half the cost of the previous quote. The guys from Global Turf Irrigation really knew what they were doing and were very quick and efficient.

I finally got frustrated with my previous company, as it would take them a month to come out, plus I was starting to get the feeling they weren't shooting straight with me. I called Global Turf Irrigation, and they come over the same day. They were very upfront about their busy schedule, but said they could work me in. My former company had replaced drip line with pops last year, and had butchered the configuration, so not a quick or easy fix. Despite being perhaps the busiest time of the year, Global came over multiple times and resolved the problem. I had interaction with a number of the team members (Walt, Dustin, Travis), and found them all to be very responsive and professional, and would highly recommend them.

After reading all of the great reviews for this company I was really looking forward to working with them. I reached out to the top 4 rated Angie's list irrigation companies in my area to get an estimate and compare. I texted the number provided and asked if we could set up time for an estimate. The following day I got a response that said yes, they would be able to do that 'at my convenience'. We came to an agreement that we would meet up 2 days later. I rearranged my schedule so that we could meet up. I let the contact know that I had conflicts at other times during that day so asked that they contact me if there are any changes in the time they can meet. The day and time of the agreed upon meeting came and went. I received no call or text letting me know the appointment had been moved or cancelled. I texted the contact about 90 minutes after our agreed upon time and I am yet to hear back from them, about 2 weeks later. This is unfortunate as I really wanted to get their estimate considering the great irrigation work they do, but unfortunately they didn't seem interested in showing up for our meeting or responding to my contact attempts. (I based the 'Approximate cost of service' for this review based on other estimates I had received.)

Dustin and Travis easily identified where the leak was in our system. They replaced the needed pipe and put in a new master valve. They took great care not to tear up our yard any more than necessary. They also solved the problem of an unsightly area where our french drain system drained to the curb. The solution involved boring under our driveway to relocate the drain pipe. Again, they were careful not to tear up our yard any more than necessary.

When I first contacted Walt, he was able to come out the next day and give me an estimate. I told him that I would get back to him. Once I told him that I was ready to proceed, he said that the install would probably be the next week. I got a text the next week that he was running late, and it would be the next week. The next week they got to my house on Friday, and finished up on Saturday. Yes, they had to reschedule, but they communicated that to me the entire time, and did what they said they were going to do. What more can you ask for? The crew worked in the heat, and they were all friendly. They came back out on Monday to show me how to use everything, show me that everything was working, and explain the system to me. They told me then that right after Thanksgiving they would come back out to winterize the system. I paid over the phone, and everything was done. When they came out on that Monday, I asked the person about the areas of the sod that they had cut in to, and he said they wouldn't need anything to just leave them alone, and that it will all come back together. I have to say, it looked really good even right after they left. We were really impressed that there wasn't more damage done to the lawn. A week later, the lawn is already looking even better, and the areas they cut in to are already growing back together. I would absolutely use them again, and recommend them to others. Jarvis and Jose came out on a Saturday afternoon to work on a leaking watering head. It was determined that it wasn't a sprinkling head problem but a control valve was defective. It took about an hour and one-half to dig it out and replace it and reinstall it. It was a very hot day (97) and very humid.so it was very uncomfortable. That didn't even slow them down. After replacing the valve the head that was leaking to begin with stopped leaking. They did such a good job you can hardly see where they were working This is the second time they have done work for me this year. They are very helpful and professional and, can/ will answer any question you have. I can highly recommend them and I feel sure you will be very satisfied.

Update 11/14 ---------------- Walt contacted me to fix the issue with my yard. He added a new zone in my back yard which resulted in dry zones getting required amount of water and now the grass is slowly but surely in recovery mode. The rains in the recent weeks together with aeration and over-seeding have helped in my back yard in slowly recovering. I have updated my review based on the work done by Walt. ---------------- After shopping around for irrigation installs during spring, I decided to go with Global Turn Irrigation to install irrigation system for my home. Walt Dietz had come in to look at the property and shared his plan for the install. After agreeing on pricing, it was decided that once the weather is decent, Walt and his team will complete the install. After a couple of follow-ups, they showed up and completed the install. Since it was spring time, they did a quick test and winterized the system. Took me a couple of emails to get an invoice for the work done (hindsight - I shouldn't have paid until they gave me an invoice). The system was warranted for a year with parts warranty will be for the period that manufacturer supports. Since the install, the experience has at best been "average". Took me a few calls and emails to get them to stop by and restart the system. I have a decent sized yard with my back yard getting a lot of sunlight throughout the day and my front yard gets shade through the trees. The system was turned back on in May (had to call them and drop them a couple of emails to get them to respond and turn on the system). They have done a good job with my front yard and so far things are looking good. Once the temperature starting hitting 80's, I started noticing that a huge chunk of my back yard was not getting required water. I sent an email to Walt on May 17th with a picture of my back yard not getting required water and never heard back from him. Followed up my email with a couple of calls and texts and still didn't get anything concrete on plan to resolve the same. The Rain Bird rain sensor installed by them wasn't working as well, I did some reading and found out that the wiring was done incorrectly and since I am a handy man I resolved the issue myself. Since replacing my sod was an expensive deal, I asked Walt to add a zone and told him that I was willing to pay for it (in my opinion this should be covered under warranty as the sprinkler design was not done correctly). The additional cost for the zone was $500 and Walt did indicate that he will aerate and over seed the impacted area. During the call, I did let him know that the weather forecast for day he plans to complete the work is rainy with thunderstorms and had asked him to start the work early. The day he was supposed to show up, I was told that he will come in the afternoon (exactly when rain and thunderstorms were forecasted) or he said he can come the following day and get it fixed. Given the experience thus far, I just gave up and told him that if he is busy I will find someone else. Since I didn't get a response, I followed up with a text and not surprisingly I didn't hear back from him. Based on the install experience, I had recommended them to a friend of mine and his experience has been no different. Personally I do not have access to all the info but I have heard not so good things about the install and post install service experience. Personally I believe sales and service are what sets-up a provider to be successful. The service I got was not good and thus I would personally look at other providers in the space before choosing Global Turf. I have paper-trail of my experience and I haven't added bling to make the review tilt towards bad. Wish there was a way to add an image so that I could share how my back yard looks.

Travis was very professional and informative. He quickly diagnosed our problems and explained what needed to be done. He literally walked me around the yard before and after repairs. Wish I had found him a year ago! I was also impressed at the prompt response that I got from my initial phone call. The voicemail said it was better to send a text. I got an immediate response via text and had someone at my house the next morning.

My controller is somewhat defective, but Walt was able to get the system working by restarting the system and replacing several sprinkler heads, which saved me several hundred dollars. He also provided the service on Memorial Day, at short notice. I highly recommend this company, and will call them whenever I have a problem with my system.

I called Walter on Monday morning during this, the busiest period of their year. He came out on Tue morning to estimate the job, expecting to do it within a week. He called back that same afternoon saying he had a large out of town job the next few days but could come immediately if that was ok. He and his assistant Dustin revamped my system, substantially improving it over the original design. It is now much easier to prime in the spring, winterize and clean. He taught me how to avoid some problems and to flush out the system. They then did a "quickie" tour of the four zones, replacing one head with one I had on hand and adjusting a few others. The only reason I gave on B rating was that they really didn't take the time late in the day to see that all heads had the correct outlets and were directed just right. So in less than two days from first contract I have a much better system for a fair $425. Walter says he started the company in 1998 and Dustin has helped him for ten years. They were courteous and professional. I'd definitely recommend them.

Dealing with Walter was just great. He was just incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and helpful about other lawn issues that he could see as a potential problem. We had additional irrigation issues pop up when the fencing folks damaged MORE lines, and Walter immediately had his crew redirect and fix that too. It went perfectly.

Had somewhat of an emergency and Walt came out immediately. We had a part fail in our lawn irrigation system that we could easily see. Walt came out, diagnosed the problem & shut off the water supply. Since he had to dig out some sort of distribution hub we need he needed to get the part and return. Fixed everything and did a great job of cleaning up. We were totally satisfied with his work and we'll use him again without hesitation. Would recommend him to a friend!

Dustin & his partner replaced my backflow valve & then discovered there was a broken pipe/leak somewhere under the ground. They searched & searched until they found it. When they did find it, they repaired it on the spot. They were there until 6:45pm on a Tuesday. They were so helpful & very good at what they do. I will definitely call this company again.

They were prompt and seemed very knowledgeable. They checked the sprinkler heads to make sure they were pointed in the correct direction for the lawn and replaced those that were broken. My expectation of the angie's deal was higher than the actual service but this may not be the fault of the provider. I am sure they are just fine for regular irrigation service, but I wouldn't recommend the angie's list deal from this provider.

They were fair, straight forward, and on time.

They were very busy, but we're able to fit us in and install some sod on a terrible patch of our yard. So far, it looks great!

A great experience as far as professional services. SOrry to say that has been very rare for us but the minimum we expect for our hired professionals is to do what they say and sadly many don't or won't. Walt kept us informed and was VERY professional, no surprises, on time, punctual or kept us very informed on what and when. I WISH ALL PEOPLE IN THE HOME SERVICING/IMPROVEMENT BUSINESS ACTED LIKE THIS!

Very pleased with service. I will hire again for any future repairs and winterization, etc. I understand that Walter was a little overwhelmed with the tremendous response to the Angie's List big deal and had some trouble scheduling all of the appointments. However, he always communicated with me and once we were able to schedule the appt, he showed up exactly on time, very pleasant, and ready to work.

He finally came to do the work after trying several months to get a hold of him. Once he came out, the work was very good. I did pay an extra $150 because two of my sprinkler heads needed to be replaced.

Walt came to estimate the day I inquired. He told me how to contact city and apply for paperwork and meter needed. Walt kept in communication and saw when the meter had been installed then had workers here the following few days later. Job complete 3 days after they started. Works great glad I went with him

Walt made a special trip on Saturday morning to address my concerns. He did a thorough job of checking and adjusting all of the sprinkler heads. I was 100% happy with his work!

It was a challenge to initially get a hold of, but once we did, it was a very good experience. On time, worked on a holiday, and was very thorough and detailed.

I missed up the two boxes I believe but the purpse of the visit was to inspect the sprinkler system. Which he did.

- 1st appointment, no show 1. 2nd appointment did not service/adjust the heads. 2. We emailed and called numerous times with no call back 3. It could be because they sold out of their hot Angies list deal.
