Fox Brothers Painting

I bought the deal because I wanted some painting done before we had company, however, they were too busy to do the job; I got a refund.

I have used Fox Brothers for the last few years...they painted my last home which I owned for over 10 years two times. They are always courteous, very professional, and have always warrantied their work. I was a bit surprised at the previous review I read. It surprised me since I feel I know the company so well and have recommended them many times. I've been thanked for the recommendation each time. I would not hesitate to recommend Fox Brothers.

The experience was awful and I finally had to get someone else to complete the work for significantly more than they had estimated.

It went great! I had a very tight timeline and they were very responsive, easy to communicate with and I thought they did a great job. I was very happy.

They came out right away to provide a quote and Dan was very detailed in describing the products they use and the care they take. The quote was itemized and the price was reasonable vs. other quotes I received so I felt confident I knew what I was getting for my money. The cost of having them prime and do point up wasn't too much more so I opted to add the additional services. They were easy to schedule, polite, and prompt to arrive. While they worked quickly, I felt like they took some short cuts. They didn't cover the floors/furniture while they hung the drywall. Not a big deal, but I was told they would. They didn't put plastic over doorways until they sanded - would have been nice to have that done from the start to keep the dust out of the other rooms. They also used one of my light fixture boxes for their waste mud despite it having parts and paperwork inside. We also found we had to monitor their work closely because they dry walled over three electrical boxes and didn't fully cut out two drain clean outs. Luckily, we noted where everything was so they could correct this. Overall the dry wall looks good - the big let down was the priming and touch up. Again, nothing was protected prior to painting, and an area were missed. While they did clean up the over spray, I feel like the service wasn't that valuable and I probably could have done just as well myself. I'm not sure the touch up was worth it either because we still have areas where the dry wall bulges from being cut too small, moves from being under secured, and a poor patch job. Dan was very apologetic about the mishaps that occurred. And really, if it was only or two of these things, I'd be more understanding. But when taken into consideration together, it becomes disappointing. If I were to do it again, I would just hire out the install, tape and mud and be sure to monitor more closely.

Overall, we were very pleased. The crew came on time, was respectful of our home, did an awesome job, followed up to make sure we were pleased and did some minor touch ups. Fast and professional. Made several good suggestions. Our house was old and we were getting it ready to put on the market. Having it painted made a huge difference. We almost didn't want to leave. The only issue was some miscommunication at the beginning. Matt came out to the house, took measurements, then emailed us a quote. Once we emailed back, we didn't hear from them. As it turned out, it was an email issue.

Quality of the work was very well. The workers were high quality, easy to work with, responsive to needs, and prompt for the appointment. The big deal was a little bit confusing when it came to pricing.

Highly professional and friendly staff did an excellent job with painting bonus room and also back porch. The only reason we could not score "A" for quality is that we are not as pleased with the quality of re-screen. It looks nice for now, but fear that we will have to repeat this project sooner than we hoped with weather, etc. We will definitely contact again for paint jobs, however.

This was a big job and the team executed superbly. I would highly recommend their service. They were responsive and timely. The crew was amazingly efficient. Took two days to get the job done. Left my home spotless. Tracy helped me pick out fabulous colors an added benefit. Professional, efficient and honest team.

Called Fox Brother and spoke with Tracy about getting back door looked at, bathroom redone, and remodel laudry room. She said Matt would be given me a call. Matt called and I told him I wanted to get back door first. Matt said he would give me a quote and I have never heard from him anymore. I need some things done at my home and I really need a good contractor to be helpful not turn good people away. Tracy said they have a min of 750.00 to do a job and I had more than 750.00 worth of renovation that needed to be done. Thank you for nothing Fox Brothers for nothing.

Everyone was nice, but sometimes the time to get back with me to get scheduled would take a while. A painter did come out and gave an estimate to make sure the room was the size applicable to the deal. They even sent me an email about filling out a form to approve the estimate and I filled it out 4 times and was never responded to. It has now been over a year, and due to them being booked up, they requested I just ask for a refund.

We were repainting a room (about 1700 sq ft of wall) in preparation for putting my mom's house on the market. On their way over to estimate our house, they had a job for the next day cancel. In order to keep his guys working, Matt offered a discount if we could do the job the next day - which worked out perfectly for us. They did underestimate the amount of paint needed so the final price was nearly $100 more than estimated, but it was a difficult job to cover the cranberry. They were wonderful to work with, moved furniture, prepped quickly, worked quickly, cleaned up well. Except for the beautiful color, you would never have known we had workmen in the house. They are meeting us at the new house tomorrow to estimate some flooring and painting which we hope to have done before my Mom moves in. And we'll definitely call them to paint our house before it goes on the market in the next few months.

They are very efficient and very professional. Tracy followed through with me for over a year because I couldnt find the time for the work to be done at first. You dont have to do anything! They take everything off the walls and move the furniture and replace everything back before they leave. They are very respectable and polite.

I purchased the Big Deal in February but my husband had surgery in March so everything else was put on hold while he recovered. I contacted Fox Brothers in August and received the estimates. He stated the Big Deal was expired but he would honor it. The estimates that I received were not clear in comparison to what we wanted to have done. After reviewing the reviews and reading how many stated they would not re-hire Fox Brothers again, we decided not to use them and requested a refund for the Big Deal.

They came out to give us the estimate for the one room. The size of the room was larger than the $99.00 deal which would have increased the price. This was possibly my oversight of the small print on the square footage of the room. Either way, while they were there we requested an estimate on more areas to possibly paint. They provided us with estimates down to the penny on each area and were very flexible with us as we were trying to decide what was best. After receiving the estimates at that time we weren't in a position to move forward. They were very professional, thorough, easy to work with and we will try to use them again in the future, this particular deal just wasn't for us.

We got a refund and no work was done. They had to come out to give an estimate first and then tried to upsell us on paint. He promised us a quote within 48 hours, but I didn’t hear back from him for a week. I then called him every day and then finally we heard back from him. We had 2 cats and one of them the room was designated to. He was unprofessional, evasive and tried to tell us that he didn’t want his men painting in that room due to the cat.

Could not agree on the right price and work scope.

They were late / took longer than they told me which caused me to lose 1/2 day's pay.

Handled small glitches/issues that arouse effectively in a timely fashion. Fair, comparable bid when compared with another well-respected painting company. Gave options when providing bid. Only small issue was that quote was for 1 coat of paint on trim when I would have thought that they might have known it would require 2 coats, but that seems pretty minor.

Fox Brothers Painting Renovation & Flooring was difficult to schedule, because of the overwhelming response to the Big Deal. OK I get that. Painting was performed and they did a nice job, but they used the wrong type of paint in the Master Bathroom so it looks like water is running down the wall after we shower. The upstairs bathroom they painted does not have this problem. When my wife contacted Fox Brothers to correct the problem their response was that THEY WERE TOO BUSY TO COME OUT AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD GET BACK TO US. This was approximately one and a half months ago! Haven't heard a word from them since. As a self employed owner of my own business I would be out of business if I responded to my customers in this manner therefore I would not recommend Fox Brothers Painting to anyone. You are only as good as your reputation.

Rocky start to the job (02/2013), Dan was late a couple of meetings/estimates. Their price was good and we accepted the estimate. His crew was friendly and professional. They completed the work in a timely manner, working reasonably clean. Since the job has completed, we did find some areas we wanted them to come back and do minor touch up. The company was unresponsive- I got busy and let it go. I called the company back to quote us a deck and screened porch. I made sure to be at home for the scheduled appointment time and no one from Fox Brothers showed up or called to let me know they weren't coming. My time is valuable too. I will not be using this company in the future.

They finally painted one room, after numerous request. Where do I start-Punctuality (missed scheduled apppointment), Responsiveness (NO returned calls nor emails in a timely manner), Professionalism (lacking in quality customer service). I will never use this vendor again nor suggest to any of my family or friends. Get it together! (Suggestions: Five Star Painting)

The work they did was fine. The big deal was for $99. There were extra charges just for the work related to the holes; some got larger and expanded because it wasn’t originally placed on the stud. It was just some minor things related to that which was not part of the original contract because I wanted them to move it over to a stud and then redo it. They had to fix the hole that was left. I think I paid for the paint. They went in and picked it up for me. The work itself wasn’t an issue. It was actually getting done. They came up pretty immediate to actually look at it. Then there was a holdup in getting the estimate and getting an appointment fixed after that. It took longer than what they told me it was going to. The quality of the work was great. Everything was done just like they said it would be done. There were no issues. There was no splattering of paint. The pricing was fine. I would not use them again in the future. I don’t like the wait at the beginning part. I don’t like having to call them about it. That really is the reason why I would not use them; not because of the quality of work. It's just that it is my personal preference.

The first thing that impressed me was the quality of the customer service when I called to inquire about the job. Tracey answered all my questions and was extremely helpful. The second thing that impressed me was the detailed estimate that Matt provided. The written estimate was divided by the area of the house, i.e; front , left side, right side and rear. Had a column for quantity, unit price and total. The crew was on time, professional and answered all my questions. Once the job was done, Matt and I did a walk around and we used the estimate as a checklist for services provided. Clean up after was a plus as well.
