Flooring United

This company installed new wood flooring in the kitchen, family room, dining area, hallways, and one staircase, and carpet in the bedrooms and second staircase. The company owner, Mr. Ward, came out promptly to do the estimate, and then worked with me to accommodate a tight renovation schedule. He and his crew worked hard to make certain all the work was completed ahead of time. The installation work was high quality, and results were absolutely beautiful. Working with Mr. Ward was a pleasure.

Very well. Nice staff. In process of changing ownership and in a meeting but still allowed me to view samples. I was not ready to decide yet on flooring but I did eventually find what I wanted at another store that is on Angie's List.

I am not going with them. I am going with someone else. They were all very good though. They came when they said they would. It is just that I was able to go and buy the material myself and then have someone else put it in. The owner came out right on time, and he spent about half an hour looking at the floor. He gave me pretty much the figure right there. There were 2 figures. One was for a lower grade of linoleum and one was for a higher grade. I would have had to go and pick out what I wanted. He just gave me the quote and told me that if I were interested he could do the work in a day or so. It was all very upfront. There were no hidden costs or anything. He was very responsive. When he thought he might be a little late, he called me. He was excellent.

Overall, the installer did a good job. He had been given incorrect wood at first, but the problem was quickly rectified and it didn't delay things too much. After he reinstalled the toilet, there was a slight drip. He came back the next day and identified the problem (it was not a result of anything he did--just our toilet). The floor looked very good when he was finished. He put the old quarter round on, instead of new, but a different worker took care of that. Dale Ward checked in with me throughout the job.

Scott Rollyson did the work. He was professional, knowledgeable, and neat. The floors turned out great and he did an exceptionally good job replacing the damaged subflooring and doing a repair which should prevent the problem from happening again. Scott was meticulous and thorough and we were very pleased with the end result. Dale Ward, our contact person, checked in with us to make sure things were going well.

The flooring was replaced while we were on vacation. Flooring United said they did this often and neighbors were available to check on things while we were away, so it seemed like an ideal arrangement. The job was done on time, exactly as requested. The workmanship is great and the folks at the showroom are great to work with. However, the problem we encountered is the mess which was unexpected. Before we left on vacation, we met with our contact at Flooring United to discuss the last minute issues and find out what we needed to move, cover, etc. We were told that the installer had a canopy that could be set up outside and the tile would be cut there. We talked about whether the garage would be used since a car would be in there and there would be lots of things to move -- we were told no it wasn't necessary. We discussed what needed to be moved inside the house and whether or not the furniture should be covered. Before leaving we followed the instructions. However, the installer did cut the tile in the garage and while doing so had the interior door propped open. As a result, the car and everything in the garage was covered with a thick layer of dust and a huge mess. Inside the house, we expected some dust, but it was much more than we were told. For example, we were told to move things only off the most bottom shelf of the pantry which we did. However, everything in the pantry was covered in dust and some things had to be thrown out. The furniture was a mess in our adjoining family room. We were able to clean everything and nothing was permanently ruined, but it was an unexpected, giant hassle upon return from vacation. If we were home while the tile was being installed we would have seen what was happening and called Flooring United, moved things, etc. However, with being gone, we had to rely on the instructions we were initially given.

We had been looking at different types of unique flooring, including cork, tile, and ultimately chose imported Mexican Saltillo tile. They were detailed with making sure that everything they did was to our liking before, during, and after installation. Specifically, Linda Greene was amazing to work with in choosing something (color, style, size, etc.) that would be perfect for our room & John Rowan was an artist with installation! John is a perfectionist so the job took a few days, but WOW!!! Was the time worth it!!!! He looked at each piece for the natural variations in color and mixed them all so that it looks even better than what we had hoped for. We get soooo many compliments on the color, the quality, and the way the floor has transformed our space! P.S. Because of our great experience with this large job, we later hired them to replace just a small amount of flooring in our bathroom after a leak ruined it. That job was equally as thorough.

They did an absolutely great job. If we could have pictured the ideal job in our heads they exceeded our expectations. John came in and removed everything and coordinated with everyone to make sure that the timing went flawlessly for the new installation. Dale Ward did a great job in making sure that we were happy every step of the way.
