I can't say enough great things about the job Falcone did on my house. It's a 100 yr old Victorian that I am remodeling into a B&B. Over the years the house settled and there wasn't any crawl space plus we needed to make sure the house was structurally sound and add support where needed. 4 other companies would not even touch the job because of the difficultly and the unforeseen. Not Falcone.. They were excited about the challenge and respected the historical importance of the house. These guys are amazing, professional and extremely easy to work with. As a woman it's nice to deal with a company that talks to you not over you. I would highly recommend them again for any job. I want to personally Thank Benjamin for all his hard work and professionalism throughout the whole project! If you want to see before and after pics of the project like The Holbrook House on Facebook

They did a good gob, though not an excellent one. They seemed keen to get other work as well (finding small problems in the foundation that we had already sufficiently repaired). We bought their services as a "big deal."

Overall, had a great experience with this company. Our house has a difficult to access "crawl" space (it's 12 feet tall with the entrance 7 feet off the floor) in the front of our house. On our home inspection when we bought the house, the inspector had raised concerned about a gap in the foundation wall in this space. He had recommended a foundation wall be built in this location. We requested an estimate from Falcone Crawl Space and Structural Repair. Joe was 20 minutes early. He was quite accrobat and easily got into the crawl space. Once inside, he demonstrated to me that the foundation wall was well-supported on a large protruding rock. He did not feel that any repair had to be made and gave clear instructions on how to monitor for any developing problems. His honesty and enthusiasm was greatly appreciated. If I do have any crawl space or other issues that develop in the future, will call them again.
Description of Work: Came and assessed a front foundation wall that had been raised as a concern on a home inspection.

FANTASTIC! Joseph, who is the co-owner of the company drove all the way from Charlotte to give me a free estimate. He was incredibly honest and helpful as he explained his experience with these moisture computers and vapor barriers. His prices were VERY reasonable and fair. The only reason we didn't select Joe and Falcone was because we decided on a sealed crawlspace for just a little more than what they offered. Otherwise, if we would done the vapor barrier over the sealed crawlspace we would have definitely selected FALCONE.

The consultation went very well. Marlon changed from his coveralls and wore booties over his shoes when he came back into our house after going into the crawl space. We have not had the problem fixed yet, but when the time comes we plan to call Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair.
Description of Work: Marlon came to our home promptly and gave us a free consultation as promised. He checked the inside of the house and the crawl space, looked at our problem (sloping floors), and told me it was fixable. He then gave us a quote that we think is reasonable.

Felt they went above and beyond my quote. Once they got under the house they realized it required more work than the initial estimate. Very polite and courteous, put plastic tarp down in the yard and planted grass seed and covered with straw in the area where they had to mix the cement for the supports. Thought they did an excellent job! They finished a little ahead of schedule, thought it would take about a week, but it was four days. Had three men here working to get the job done. Would call if they were going to be late, usually to stop and pick up supplies, but it was never over 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Repaired some structural damage under the house. Put tilings under the house for support, replaced the main beam, put in new insulation under the floor and a vapor barrier. Replaced the crawl space door which had deteriorated because of the rain which they didn't charge me extra to replace.

I worked with Ronnie he was the one who did my quote. The price he quoted me was extremely high and I felt like he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a single mother. I contacted two other companies who said the job would not cost that much. The contractor that I choose told me how to repair my lawn as well as my gutters. They were prompt and very responsive but I just did not feel comfortable with this company and I do not recommend them to anyone. Because they were so highly rated on Angie's List I decided to get a quote from them. What he was going to do would have fixed the problem but it didn't have to cost that much. I would not use them again in the future.

I noted a lot of water pooling ( approximately 6-8 inches) at the low end of our crawlspace under the house after a heavy rain early this spring. Our house is approximately 80 years old and had been treated for some mold in the crawlspace 4 years ago. I had no idea that so much water had been accumulating under the house. I had arranged for a free estimate with Falcone. The representative who provided the estimate was prompt and very knowledgeable. He provided me with a written estimate that ended up to be the final cost; no hidden fees, taxes, etc. When Falcone came to do the work they were prompt and courteous. They performed the work that I expected within the time parameters they initially stated - 2 days. The secretary at the Falcone office was also very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's been about 2 months since the work was done and the sump pump has worked well. We've had a lot of rain this year thus far so I'm glad Falcone performed the fine work they did. The air in the crawlspace no longer has that musty "mold" smell like before and I'm looking forward to see if the work done will result in a decrease in our power bill as well. I would definitely recommend Falcone for any crawlspace work that needs to be done and I would use them again if needed.

From the first inquiry to job completion, the company was first class. Informative, know their product/service, not hard sell, responsive....I am not easy to impress, and I was very impressed by this company and its employees. I wish they did more work so I could use them again. How often does one need drainage work?? ALL the employees are polite, knowledgeable, hard workers and 'love their job' and it shows in their work. Kudos to Marlin, Shane, Ben, Walverto, Christian and John. Thank you for your hard work and good service.

Purchased a Big deal for Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair. I had 10 vents replaced in the crawl space. The technician was wonderful and did a great job, I even helped him with a couple vents. The planning of the service took a bit to get scheduled. It shouldn't take over a week to schedule and they shouldn't tell customers they are to busy. Thought this should have not taken 3 weeks before coming out to do the work.

It went very well. The guy was personable. The only reason that we didn't use him was because he said he wouldn't work on the flooring inside of the bathroom. Once we had the problem fixed that we would want tile put down, and that was not a service that he provided.

We had noticed cracks in the walls located at door frame area or room entry openings. We also noticed several doors that did not close completely. After having several permanent house jacking solutions offered by firms that only do that, and having consult an independent building engineer (well worth the fee), the engineer outlined the actual solution which did not include four house jacks at $3000 per jack . We tried to obtain service from two local Raleigh foundation repair firms, one on Angie's list and the other recommended by the company offering a permanent jacking solution. One did not return even the first phone call and the other did not show at the first appointment. Upon again consulting Angie's list and seeing Falcone's excellent ratings, I gave them a call. I was surprised to learn they often did work in the Raleigh area despite their office being located in Charlotte. They came to the first appointment to review the house on site; I had previously sent them the engineer's analysis and solution. They explained the solution to me in good detail. On 21 May 2013 they came to start the work and finished it on the next day. They worked efficiently and there were no surprises (I Like that). The result is wonderful. We now can close doors that were difficult before and the sheet rock cracks were erased or greatly reduced so some spackling compound and painting will compete that repair. Falcone is an excellent choice and we are glad we have Angie's list as a resource.

[member name removed], We're so glad that you had a great experience with Ronnie (quote) & Ben (crew leader). Ben said that your doors are now closing properly and the cracks had closed back up, all good results! Thank you for also sharing your experience with hiring an independent structural engineer. We often recommend this to homeowners. Even though you pay a few hundred dollars to them, you can often save big money on the repairs and get a better repair solution with an unbiased engineer. For example, while helical piers are great for many other situations, they would not have helped the settling on the interior of your home. This is why the engineer recommended a dropped girder, which Ben installed. I think this is a great story for other homeowners with similar situations to read, so again, thank you for sharing! Very best wishes, M Falcone

I called Falcone to come and check my foundation. The employee that was going to meet me called ahead of time to let me know that he was on his way. He inspected my foundation and let me know that it was in good shape. I also asked about the need for a vapor barrier. He gave me an estimate. After getting other estimates, I selected Falcone. The work was performed in a timely and professional manner. I am extremely satisfied. I was impressed with everyone on the Falcone staff that I dealt with. I would definitely satisfied with Falcone and would use them again.

It went really well. I left a voice mail on the first call and heard back from someone that day. They scheduled an appointment for me and then followed up with a reminder call a couple of days prior to the appointment. I also got a call the morning of the appointment that they were on their way. The guy seemed to know what he was talking about. I think he could have been a little more professional though. They were supposed to replace all of the damaged sub-flooring and joists under the front two bedrooms and hall. They came out and worked under the house; during which time they sawed through the hardwood floor and had had to replace some of the hardwoods; they broke one of the plumbing pipes and had to pay a plumber to repair; and they knocked down and left down one of the A/C ducts that went to one of the bedrooms (which ended up with me paying to A/C the underneath of my house for a few months). They told me they had completed all the work and covered everything up with insulation. The county inspector came out, but did not inspect anything because everything was covered up with insulation. A few months ago the hall area between the two front bedrooms started sinking/caving-in and the hardwoods started separating; I found out that they didn't do the all of the work that they were supposed to do; they did not replace all of the damaged sub-flooring and damaged joists. I couldn't believe that they had covered up damaged/rotten sub-flooring with insulation. I contacted the county inspectors and told them about the rotten sub-flooring that wasn't replaced and that they hadn't actually inspected the first time; they contacted the company and said the company said they would take care of the problem. Falcone came back and replaced a couple of the remaining damaged joists and some of the remaining damaged sub-flooring and then covered everything up again with the insulation. I took some of the insulation down and found that they still had not replaced all of the damaged/rotten sub-flooring and joists. The county inspector acknowledged that they had not replaced all of the damaged sub-flooring, but stated that he couldn't force them to do the work. I was told by the lead worker for Falcone that the hardwood floors were a big part of the problem, because they were all rotten. If the hardwood floors were all rotten, then Falcone should NOT have replaced any of the sub-flooring. The only reason I was having the damaged/rotten sub-flooring and joists replaced from underneath was because I was told that the hardwood floors were in good shape and did not need to be replaced. I subsequently found out from the state licensing board that they are not licensed to do the work they did. Everything is going to be redone. The only reason I hired this company is because Angie's List ... RESPONSE TO FALCONE'S: I did not call regarding a "completely unrelated matter"; as previously stated, they were paid to repair the damaged sub-flooring under the front two bedrooms and hall; all or which are connected; they only replaced part of the damaged sub-flooring and joists; they covered up the remaining damaged sub-flooring with insulation. If it were not for the part of the hall (between the two bedrooms) starting to cave-in, I would not have known that they didn't complete the jog. The building inspector did NOT inspect the work - it was covered up with insulation; that is why the inspector came back the second time; the inspector did NOT sign off on the job and the building inspector did NOT praise their work. With respect to them "pulling a license", they can pull a license for the work that they are licensed to perform; unfortunately, I was told that their license does NOT cover much of the work they are doing. Shame on me - REALLY - shame on you for not doing the work you were paid to do and for covering up the work you didn't do with insulation.

Response from Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair
This report is completely false and slanderous. This homeowner was very happy when we completed her repairs over a year ago. A year later she called us about a completely unrelated matter (flooring in a separate area) and even though it had nothing to do with it, we fixed it because we were already there, at no charge, just because we are commited to excellent customer service. Her floors were not "caving in" by any means. Her repairs were solid, exceeded the original scope of work and passed county inspections twice. The work we did for her was permitted and passed by the building inspector. She yelled at the building inspector that we did not do the work she hired us to do and showed him a completely unrelated quote from another company! The building inspector praised our work. We are licensed in South Carolina to do masonry, carpentry and insulation which covers the work that we did for her and any other homeowners in SC. If we were not licensed, as she falsely accused, we would not have been able to pull a building permit. To say that we only came out after she called inspectors is again false. No one has ever had any trouble scheduling an appointment with Falcone Crawl Space for service issues. This report is completely false, slanderous and unbelievable coming from someone we gave excellent service to. Shame on you.

This is their specialty. They were professional. All the insulation had fallen out so they tore it out and replaced it. They sprayed a fungicide and put down plastic. I am very disappointed to read that you felt you received "C" service. We did call NC 811, as we are required to do for any digging, on 9/24 and received a ticket number for the locate request. If NC DIG (811) did not come out before our work began on 10/1, we have no control over this agency. However, the good news is that we were extra careful and no damage occurred. [member name removed] was supposed to have someone move his HVAC unit at his own expense before the work began, but his HVAC company was not able to come out. We came up with a new approach (digging around the HVAC unit) to avoid any hassle for the homeowner and saved him hundreds of dollars in HVAC service fees. The crew leader explained this and our customer service manager noted that [member name removed] was comfortable with the new solution. However, our customer service manager will be in touch to get a better understanding of this and see if we can offer any further explanation, because we are committed to excellent customer service.
