Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair

Joe came out to give the quote and explained everything very well. Another guy came out to complete the work and did an outstanding job, unfortunatly I can't remember his name. I am sure it was very difficult because he had to carry the cement all the way to the opposite corner of the crawl space. But he worked very hard and got it done in one day. The floor was leveled to almost perfect and he cleaned up so well it was difficult to tell anybody had been there.

It has been six months since the work was done and all is well. They arrived on the day and time that was agreed upon - the job lasted about a week. All of their employees were professional, cleared away debris - I would not hesitate in recommending or using them again. We have had one or two questions since the job was done and they were very responsive.

They communication was excellent through out the job. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. I feel they did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. One of the things I really liked was they explained what they were going to do and they even sent pictures of the job under the crawl space after they were finished.

My estimator said I'd be better off contacting a flooring specialist since that would be a lot cheaper. I respected his honesty. He said he used to have a contractor he recommended, but currently did not and he sent me back to Angie's List. I appreciated his professionalism by not mentioning the name of the company he no longer recommends, but I wish I knew who it was so I would not use them.

I definitely want to preface any review by saying that overall Falcone is great. They are very responsive, Joe was easy to get in contact with, the crew worked long, hard hours in poor conditions (single digit temperatures w/ no heat in the house). The guys even came back a second week (unplanned) to complete the job and we definitely appreciated that. I definitely want everyone to know these facts first. There are always a few things that could go better, and that is what reviews are all about -- trying to improve. Here's my constructive criticism of how this good company could be great: 1). Clear understanding of project scope & pricing: there was unfortunately a portion of our crawlspace that was "inaccessible" to the gentleman quoting the job, and unfortunately this translated to a couple issues: a).The crew was unprepared for the scope of issues our foundation had -- meaning there were more piers to put in, more joists/girders to replace & this resulted in the project taking longer & more materials and labor costs, and the project took a week longer (pushing back our overall project timeline as well) b).The project final amount was quite a bit higher than expected (although they did "work with us"). 2). Putting everyone on the same team: sales person & crew members. I definitely sense some dissension between these two groups, as there always tends to be in any company. This, however, was verbalized and probably isn't the most professional way to appear in front of a client. I will reiterate, this is a good company. I will hire them again when the opportunity presents itself since I know their intentions are good.

They had a special on Angie?s list for replacing crawl space vents, took advantage of the special. Called and mad an appointment, the came and replaced the vents, they look great.

They determined that what was in the big deal wasn't what was needed. They contacted us right away after we purchased the deal.

Shane, Jon, and Bobby with Falcone came to our farm on Monday from Charlotte, North Carolina because snow was forecast for us in Columbia, South Carolina. I was real impressed that they did not let the fear of snow mess up their work schedule. They arrived early, got busy and worked late. Shane was the foreman and Jon and Bobby worked well and efficient, very detailed and professional. They came in under estimate for the work performed. We are so glad to highly recommend a Falcone. The gentlemen took pride in thier work and were very concerned with customer satisfaction.

In January of 2013, I received an estimate from Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair ("Falcone") to expose footings in several places for further inspection (of my foundation) by a structural engineer. After the engineer's inspection, it was recommended that 4 floor joists be replaced immediately and more extensive foundation repairs be done in the future to completely correct the faulty repairs of a prior contractor. I spoke with Ronnie Watkins at Falcone and decided to hire their company to replace the 4 floor joists. After this repair I received periodic follow-up calls from Megan Page (at Falcone) over the span of almost a year. She patiently and courteously checked in with me to see if I would like to hire them to finish the work. Megan assured me that my expired quote would still be honored, should I want to hire them to complete the extensive repairs. Due to their competitive quote, the recommendations of other consumers, the respect of their peers in the field, their proof of liability insurance and their complete understanding and willingness to work according to the specifications of a structural engineer of my choosing, I hired Falcone to do the remaining repairs. Fred Falcone and his team are wonderful, extremely experienced and highly professional. In just 10 days, they Installed 23 galvanized helical piers; removed previously installed pile; filled a void under the footing with concrete; provided, installed and compact washed #57 stone in my driveway (in order to return the driveway to better-than pre-construction condition)! They also removed large boulders from my property that they discovered under the ground when digging. They replaced old boards on my deck that were understandably damaged when removed in order to access portions of the foundation. They graded the ground around the house in order for rainwater to flow away from the foundation. They laid grass seed around the property, even in parts where they didn't do any foundation repairs, but simply because their Bobcat might have traveled over the area. They finished by layering hay on top of the grass seed and even placed mulch around my tree. They left the work area neat and tidy (ie: no excess dirt on driveway, sidewalks or deck). Most importantly, their work allowed me to open my front door again, which is something I have not been able to do in a very, very long time. This foundation situation was previously a safety hazard for my family and a frustration and annoyance for me on a daily basis. I now feel freedom and happiness in a situation where I previously felt trapped (literally)! I am extremely pleased with their work, as they out-performed my expectations by far! I would recommend their services to anyone who needs foundation repairs of any kind. Their competitors should stand down, because this company has it all; experience, service, respect in the industry, professionalism and amazing results! Shane and his crew did an excellent job in cold rainy conditions. They built the concrete piers the first day, and returned the next day to jack the joists up and shim. Shane was very careful of my floors when he had to enter the house both when they started the job and when he made periodic inspections as they raised the jacks. All the cracks in my walls closed when they raised the jacks, and they made many in-process inspections to make sure that all problems were solved. Outside of these inspections, I was not inconvenienced in any way.

They were prompt, professional and courteous. Our crawl space was inspected for wood rot. He determined that the area in question was too small to warrant replacing, and noted that since our plumbing leak had been fixed it would dry out on its own and be fine. This was great news, and even better he didn't even charge a visit fee! I would totally trust these guys, they are not gonna sell you something you don't need just to make a buck!

Very professional no issues did exactly what they said they would do.

Had to raise it up as wooden shims had been used originally and had compressed and dropped the flooring in our dining room. They replaced with metal shims.

Even though we did not ultimately choose Falcone to repair our foundation, we were very pleased with the responsiveness and professionalism of the business. We have had so many issues as of late with contractors not showing up or showing up late. Falcone is one of those companies that can be depended on to show up on time and provided a very good estimate. They even took the time to tell me and describe to me all of the work that was needed while explaining the estimate. The estimate provided was quite detailed and gave us a very good description of all work needed. They showed up on time and explained everything quite clearly. Unfortunately we did go with another contractor due to price, Falcone is one of those companies that actually care about the customer and will provide great service. You can really find out how good a company is on that very first visit. We were very pleased.

The technician did not try to sell us what we did not need. He told us that the foundation looked solid except that he would recommend that we have a certain type of brace installed to be on the safe side. He even suggested that we get that done locally because it would cost so much to have them come out and do it.

Went better than we could have asked for. Everyone that we were in contact with at Falcone were the utmost professionals. Ronnie who performed the initial consultation was very thorough. We were impressed when he advised that we obtain an engineer to review his analysis before they proceeded with the work. After receiving the engineer's report Ronnie returned to assess our home again with report in hand. We were very pleased with the quote as there was considerable work to be done and we really thought that it would have been much more expensive. The work itself went great. It was in 2 parts. First part on Dec 2-5 Shane Long, Jon & Aaron came out. They were prompt, responsive, courteous, professional and hard working. They really know their job. The second part on Dec 16-17 Shane Long & Marvin came back to finish up. Again, did a great job. And finished before the scheduled end date. These guys went above and beyond. It was a pleasure to have them here. I also must mention Megan in the office. She was pleasant and professional. Very prompt and responsive. Falcone is the best in our opinion. Great work, great team, great prices. We will definitely recommend to others.

I called Falcone to give me a quote on repairing structural damage to a 100+ year old house. Every team member I spoke to was incredibly courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, the house needed extensive work beyond their specialty. They were honest and told me I should seek an engineer. Above that, they even emailed me a list of local engineers! Thank you, Falcone. I hope I don't need your services in the future, but if I do, you will be the only one I call!

Ryan Daugherty and his crew came out the first week and worked on our problems. Was very prompt and all of the guys were very nice and pleasant to have around. Worked hard and did a great job!! Did have to have them come back out to do a few things that was over looked and that was no problem. They sent out Shane Wheeler and his helper (sorry don't know his name) but they worked late and got every thing finished. Would hire them again! ( Hope I don't have to! ) Would recommend them . Ronnie came out twice to look at the situation with our house and both times was on time, as scheduled. The first time he came out he advised me to have a structural engineer come out and evaluate the house. I did that and Ronnie came back out and we went through the problems together with the engineer's report in hand. Ronnie is a very knowledgeable, honest, professional guy. A pleasure to do business with. I couldn't believe it when he told me UP FRONT that Falcone didn't have an engineer on staff and that I needed that report in order for them to be able to fix the problem absolutely. We are scheduled to have them come out to do the work in late January. They have a 35 yr. warranty on their work that is transferrable... which is great. Look forward them coming out to do the work. .Shane Long and his crew removed and replaced all the insulation and plastic under our house, washed all wood under the house, replaced or sistered 30-40 floor joists that were damaged over the years by moisture in our crawl space and installed a Atmox crawl space ventilation system. over a ten days in November 2013. The crew was professional, arrived on time and cleaned up everyday. They did a great job. Shane kept us up to date of the status of the work and showed us pictures everyday. I crawled under the house at completion to see if everything was done. The crawl space was clean and looked like a different place than it did before the work was started.

Shane Long and Edgar were very punctual and professional. They got everything done in a timely fashion and our crawl space looks so clean with a tight smooth vapor barrier. They are crawl space experts and if we need any more work done we will definitely use Falcone.

They showed up on time and seemed to know what they were doing. The work was done sloppily and was told that the mortar would age and it would look all right. I did not think so since they did not use cement coloring (that I offered to supply) to match the surrounding brick work. As I suspected, the work was not done to my satisfaction. After some time I tried to contact the firm and could reach them nor could I find them listed under Angie's List, then, current accepted contractors. I simply gave up and recently I hired another brick mason who is listed on Angie's List, who has done an outstanding job. I will be writing a review on the new firm.

Joe came out to look at my crawl space for me and he was very helpful, honest, and professional. This is the opposite of most crawl space guys who want to scare you into spending several thousand dollars on a sophisticated crawl space solution. He informed me that I was already on the right track with the fans I'd installed myself, but suggested that I add a couple more and gave me some tips on how to keep the air in the crawl space circulating. He explained the options if I continue to have problems, but he assured me that my crawl space looks good and its unlikely I would need anything more. He also did not charge me anything for the time and knowledge he shared. It was a great experience with Falcone, and if and when I need crawl space work done, I will only use them. Thanks.
