Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair

They were great! They came out quickly and quoted us a reasonable price for the work. They were able to get the work done in the same week. All the work turned out fine and we have had no problems.

I was looking to purchase a home, and the home inspector noted some issues with the foundation of the house. He suggested I contact someone who specializes in structural repairs. I contacted Falcone Crawl Space and scheduled to meet at my house with Joe to discuss my issues. Joe showed up on time that day, and we both crawled around under the house to view the issues noted by the home inspector. Joe was very knowledgeable on what needed to be done to remedy the situation, and before leaving, provided me with a quote to do the work. The work included replaced 4 wooden piers with masonry piers, some floor joist repairs, and to repair 6 crawlspace vent wells that were below graded and needed some attention. After purchasing the home, I then scheduled their team for two days of work, beginning on day one at 9 am. The crew hadn't arrived by about 9:20 am on day one, so I called the office and inquired, and was informed that the Erich and his crew had just left the hardware store and would be at my home shortly. They arrived at 9:30 am. I walked around the house with Erich discussing the work to be done. He assured me that he understood what needed to be done and that his crew was ready to begin. I left for work while they worked in the crawlspace throughout the day. On day one they dug the footings for the piers, poured the concrete footings, and blocked up the piers. Erich provided me with his cell phone number and was very responsive anytime I contacted him to check on the progress of the job. There was a changed needed in the repair, and an additional pier needed to be added, but when discussing this with the company, they agreed to add the pier and not change the total cost of the job. At the end of day one, they were gone by the time I got home from work, and stored all of their supplies and tools in the crawl space overnight. They did damage a light bulb in the crawlspace of my house, but I can easily fix that with a new bulb. On day two, I left for work prior to the crew arriving, and reached out to Erich on the morning of day two to get a download of the day one work and what would be occurring on day two. He updated me, and we agreed that I would meet him at lunch time on day two at the house to review the job, make some final adjustments to floor heights when they added weight to the piers, and tender payment. The crew was wrapped up by about 2 pm on day two. I haven't been able to fully review the work under the house due to recent rain, but feel confident with the crew and my preliminary visual inspections. All in all, Joe, Erich, and the crew were very easy to work with, responsive, and competent in their trade. Time will tell on how well the piers hold up and whether they settle or move at all over the next few months/years, but I feel comfortable with the warranty provided by the company, and that they will repair as needed, if necessary.

You get what you pay for. Falcone was extremely professional and knowledgeable about what they do. The people they send out are nice, show up on time and clean up. I've had a lot of work done to my house and these guys have been the hardest workers by far. I totally recommend.

Well, Falcone Crawl Space came through again! I had them level a large living room floor a few months ago and re-insulate and put down a vapor barrier. They did such a wonderful job that we called them back to reinforce a kitchen floor where we are putting new cabinets and a much heavier countertop. Eric and his crew of Jose and Bobby were again, very prompt, on time and kept me informed of what they were doing each step of the way and what to expect from each step. There couldn't be a more professional crew with consideration for our property and getting permission for anything that they did that may affect us. They all addressed us with courtesy and were always asking if we had any questions for them. They worked with each other and kept a good attitude even though it was hard, hot, and dusty work. They kept on schedule even when faced with a problem of their vehicle breaking down on the way to our house on the second day. Hayden and Ian came to the rescue and kept the job on schedule so they were able to still finished on the day that they had promised. They are hard workers and keep their promises. I just wish other companies could be as good as they are.

Went great! Actual pricing more the package prepurchased, but still a good value. B only because i was a little surprised by the upcharge, but will use them again. Very good crew and very professional. The quality of he work was fantastic.

Martin and May were right on time. They came up at exactly 8 went straight to work. They were very polite and curious though the looked a little dissheveled. They completed the job in an hour and the house seems sturdier.

The service provider came to my home as scheduled, but was not able to replace foundation vents on the house due to the type of vents and the age of the house. Communication with this provider was excellent.

They did such a wonderful job we hired them again in July of this year to repair the sub-flooring that had termite damage. It was quite an extensive job and they were fantastic. Additionally, the took care of adding a draining system to prevent future damage as well.

Great bunch to work with! It took a while to get it scheduled because they are apparently very busy, but Hayden and Ian arrived on-schedule and did a really good job. They kept me in the loop for the 3 days they worked on what they were doing, why, and what was next to be done. They also answered a lot of questions that I had and made me feel like they really knew what they were doing. As an aside, both of them bragged about how good the company was to work with, which is not something you hear very often. It's dirty, hard work, but they both volunteered that working for this family-owned company was a good job...that says a lot by itself. Would definitely hire them again!

Ronnie came and i showed him the cracks upstairs and the doors that will not stay open. He told me those are normal settlement issues. He also gave me the option to fix the doors or he would fix them for me. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He looked in the crawl space and said he saw no real issues and reassured me that my house was not in need of extensive repairs. He said it was my stairwell and the constant going up and down that puts stress on the walls. He also suggested that if i wanted he could install three additional piers for $2100 or so. He also suggested if i wanted that i could go to Lowes or home depot and add some concrete foundations and screw jacks if i was handy enough. I have decided to do the concrete foundation and screw jacks for now, i may later have him come out and install the more permanent solution he suggested. I would recommend this company, especially Ronnie he does not try to scare you, when he left i felt very relieved.

I was a little uneasy about having a Charlotte company come to Greer to check our home foundation. Our home is 6.5 years old and like our cars we try to be proactive and do regular maintenance to prevent anything from going wrong. When I called the company I did tell them that I didn't have any visual cracks or damage to the foundation, but just wanted a routine maintenance to check the crawl space and house for confirmation. The young lady that answered the phone set up a time for a technician to come by and followed up with an email. The day of the FREE estimate, Ronnie, my technician, called in advance confirming the time he would arrive. He arrived early. I went under the crawl space with him to learn what they look for when inspecting foundations. It was interesting. There were no cracks in our walls or piers and he even said our home settled better than most and whoever did the foundation did a good job. He told me I was good and needed nothing. YES, I JUST SAID HE DIDN'T "FIND" ANYTHING! I tried to offer something for the companies time. He said no, and just asked that we use them in the future and pass their name to others who may need their services. He went further to tell me the owners of his business tell them the number one rule for them is "HONESTY!" How rare is that?!!! Previous experiences have been find something or you lose your job. Obviously, a great company with great work ethics that flows all the way down to the technicians, or at least to Ronnie, my technician. Thank you!

I contacted Falcone and the team completed the work around 11/29/13. The work was completed in an acceptable manor despite a few small tasks not being completed. The Foreman assured us that the dirt that was built up on the boards of the front of the house would be removed and I ended up having to do this myself. We were assured before they left that they would contact us in the spring to paint the front deck/walk and lamp post which were built from pressure treated lumber and needed to cure prior to painting. We were also told that they would inspect the work to make sure that the soil had settled correctly for the drainage to be correct and that more grass seed would be put down to conform with the grass around the area. Overall, the inital work was completed in a very timely and professional manor and we were pleased with the final outcome. It does seem a bit odd that after specifying the work and quoting the price that the General Manager never returned to inspect the final product or verify that the work was done properly. Today is 7/20/14 and the final work still hasn't been performed. The General Manager was contacted on 6/25/14 after I finally gave up waiting for them to contact me and I was assured that he would get back to me and schedule the work within a few days. At this point I'm beginning to wonder whether or not they will complete the work even though this was agreed upon before I paid the bill in full right after the majority of the work was done in November. I would have given all "A"s to this review had the details been given attention and the final work been completed in a timely manor during the spring as promised.

Mr. Watkins completed his inspection and told me the location of the damage in two separate areas. He provided me a cost to do the repairs, but since the repairs would require that at least two of my bathrooms be torn up, he recommended that I hire a general contractor to handle both the repairs and the bathroom replacements. He explained to me that if they did the repair work, he could have it done in just a few days since they did have a crew working in the Charleston area right now (they're based in Charlotte); however, I would still need someone to replace the bathrooms. Rather than do that, he recomended just getting a general contractor specializing in home remodeling/repair work to do the entire job. Mr. Watkins did not charge me for checking out the damage and recommending this solution to me. He was very forthright about what they could do and what would be the best for me to do as the customer. I'd highly recommend Falcone for their honesty and concern for potential customers. If I ever have a need for their services in the future, I will be calling them again. .

Josh and his crew were very thorough and professional. They went over all of the work they did with pictures and answered all of our questions.

Initial install of vapor barrier and Atmox system went very well. This was all that was recommended by "Joe" of Falcone. He said I did not need french drain as others had recommended... About three weeks later, we had a 3 inch rainfall. I had a foot of water in crawl space. I called Fred Falcone. Josh Johnson was dispatched to take care of problem. Josh did an outstanding job getting the water out of the crawl space. Joe returned and recommended installation of the french drain at additional expense. Had this been in the original proposal, I might have looked at other systems!!! Josh Johnson and his crew returned on 6/18/14 and did an outstanding job with the french drain. Fred Falcone should be very proud to have Josh and his crew represent his company!!!!

We scheduled an appointment, and one tech came out, but then he said that they didn’t have the vents that I need. I didn't have anything done.

Ronnie Watkins responded to our call for crack in our Kitchen wall. He took me to support piling, within crawl space, in question and found it to be properly installed with cross beams correctly in place. Advised crack in wall was due to home settling and we should have painter scrape, repair, and paint. He was gracious enough not to charge me for his inspection. Highly recommend this company, for their integrity and professionalism. - Frank Proto

I can't say how impressed I am with the crew at Falcone Crawl Space. Joe came out to do the quote and he immediately saw important things the structural engineer didn't notice. He couldn't do that unless he had a great depth of experience and an eye for improvement. Within 10 minutes,I had a printed quote while he was on-site. The crew came out and completed 3 days of work in 1.5 days. They worked relentlessly under the house. All along the way, Josh was very courteous and professional to keep me updated on progress. They even did more than the job called for very willingly. Josh and Marvin's care and work ethic were impressive to say the least. They were fastidious to clean up after their work under the house and outside. Josh even swept off the porch when I tried to shy him off of doing that. Hard to find people that will work that hard, give it their all and be very particular in doing hard, dirty work. Highest marks!

Marvin and Hayden were punctual and efficient. They were friendly and easy to talk to. They completed the job within the 2 day window and under the original quoted price by finishing the job with 15' of girder instead of the quoted 20'. I was grateful that they didn't do more work than was required to correct the floor support issue, thereby saving us $700. They showed me pictures of the work progress after day one, and once the work was done, Marvin made a point of showing and explaining everything that they had done. I'm very happy with the work they did. They also promised to re-shim and make any adjustments free of charge in the future as necessary.

They're very punctual, courteous. and very professional.

The estimator came out within two weeks of requested estimate, punctual and gave a full explanation of what was needed and the exact cost of each line item. Also the time he estimated it would take to complete the job. The work started within a month exactly at the time it was scheduled. I received an email with the estimate attached from the main office. The three workers got right to work at the scheduled time, and gave an estimate of when they would be leaving that day. I have never had a better experience with a work crew: polite, fast workers, courteous, keeping the work areas clean before leaving each day and respecting our property. I was kept up to date on every day's work with pictures showing what was done in the crawl space that I couldn't get to. The pictures were detailed and explained by the work lead each day. They let us know when they were leaving and when they expected to arrive the next day. At the end of the job, all trash and extra materials was hauled away and the area swept clean. The living room floor is now level for the first time in many years and we were instructed that if we saw any sign of sagging again that they would come back and fix it or any other problems we found. It's hard to believe that the crawl space is the same one that was there when they arrived. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs their offered services.

Their agent Ronnie Watkins came to the house and said he went under the house and found that their were piers that were not touching the floor joists. He sent me an estimate on 6/3/13 for $2,530 to repair and replace a pier and install a girder. I contyacted them and asked for a picture to show what they were claiming. They said they only take pictures when they finish. I suspicious and had a termite inspection and they did not find what he described. Why would you not take a picture to show what you are describing and asking for $2,530 to repair. I guess most people would not follow up, but I did and it was false. Bad business and actually fraudulent.

I was very impressed with Falcone representative, Ronnie Watkins. I had set an appointment for 2PM today and Ronnie called me to see if he could come earlier, so we agreed he would arrive about noon. Upon his arrival, we walked around the interior of my 1950's home and I showed him where plaster was cracking and he said that this kind of cracking was normal for a home this age due to the normal expansion and contraction that goes on. He did not see any cracks that he thought were indicative of a foundation problem. Ronnie was friendly, courteous, punctual and professional. I am relieved to know that my house isn't falling down around me! He explained to me what foundation problem cracking would look like and I know if I do begin to see any of that cracking, I will definitely call Ronnie at Falcone.

I requested a quote from Falcone for replacement of support piers under my home. It took two weeks to fit me in their schedule. When Falcone finished inspecting the support piers I was told they were fine. This surprised me as I knew dry stacked support piers are not accepted by NC building codes. What Falcone DID quote me for was the replacement of the entire band ($3000.00) due to dry rot.. The Falcone representative told me it was only rotted out in one small area but the entire band had to be replaced according to code. After extensive research I found that the entire band did not need to be replaced for a small area of dry rot. Only the dry rot area needs replacing. I also confirmed it with Dennis Kolenc, owner of 'Call Mr. Fix It' who replaced the section of the band that needed to be replaced, replaced two dry stacked support piers with concrete blocks cemented together per NC building codes, and installed insulation for a total cost of $3000.00. This is the same price Falcone wanted for just the band replacement. The reason I am writing this review is to let consumers know that Falcone - crawl space and structural repairs - may not be the company you are looking for to do work needed. And also, to let Falcone know there are some consumers that do their research prior to calling for quotes. Falcone might want to ensure their sales representatives know what they are talking about and/or cancel the sales incentive program if they have one.

Ron from Falcone Crawl Space contacted me Friday and asked if he could come by earlier than our scheduled time which was great. I explained the issues that were documented in the inspection report and he started to investigate each item. After he was done he basically told me that there wasn't anything wrong with what had been reported on and said that there wasn't anything that needed to be done. I really appreciate and respect when contractors are honest which is why i am writing this review. I didn't have any work done because according to Ron there wasn't anything that needed to be done. Ron was great to work with and I have his card for the next time I may need crawl space or foundation work.
