Awful---At the end of the day we did exactly the opposite of Empire's suggestions 1) The carpet they offered as Premium was half the OZ weight and more expensive than anything at Lowe's or Home Depot/ 2) Sales man said we could not get hardwood. But he was wrong. We had a slight bow in subfloor which was easily fixed. So we got hardwood from a local company for LESS, that's right Less than Empire wanted for 27 oz carpet 3) Salesman tried to rush us into next day installation. So GLAD we fought him off. And though he claimed we'd get a discount for next day, he was wrong. So, cheap products, bad advice, high pressure sales and annoying commercials. SHOP LOCAL you won't regret it,

Moved into a 1700 sq. ft. house that had been foreclosed (former FEMA Katrina victim). The house had been trashed. Flooring, appliances, walls, etc. destroyed. Just moved here from Midwest so checked Angie's List for flooring. From start to finish, my experience with Empire was wonderful. Their rep was knowledgeable and helpful. The men who did the actual installation were very professional, skilled craftsmen. They were so polite and accommodating. When we came home, we couldn't believe the transformation!!! We put laminate on the first floor and carpeting on the second floor. It is beautiful. After taking out all the old carpeting, they cleaned the floor before putting down the new flooring. The rep stopped by during the installation to see how the work was progressing. They did not leave one single piece of evidence that they had been here; they were that tidy. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them highly!

We just purchased a new home and wanted to have laminate flooring or tiling throughout the downstairs due to our pets. My husband suggested calling Empire Today because of their commercial for buy 1 room get 2 free. I was leery, knowing from my job that these promotions are often a scam. I called anyway and had someone come out. The sales rep, Shane, who came out was wonderful. I told him who I worked for and what I knew about the advertising/promotions and he quickly told me that I was right, that advertised deal was not as good as another promotion he had. Our time schedule was very tight, and he was able to find laminate flooring in stock, on sale, and have it installed before we moved in which was two days from the estimate. Even better the laminate flooring matches the hardwood in the den exactly. The day of install, the workers were about 30 minutes late, but finished all the work that day. They were still installing when I arrived with the movers and they were very gracious and shared the space well. Our new flooring is beautiful. I was impressed with our sales rep, and the workers were fast and efficient. What impressed me the most was that they were able to work within our very short time frame. I would call them back if we decided to do work upstairs.

We are making upgrades to our home, to include the installation of hardwood floors and carpet. We're in the stages of getting quotes from several contractors and decided to get one from Empire Today. We always see the Empire commercial, which always mentions and quot;buy 1 room of flooring, get 2 freeand quot;. We called to schedule an appointment for a free quote and the salesman did arrive on time. However, from the moment he began to talk, immediately we became very cautious. The first thing he wanted to know is whether or not we had looked into other contractors and retailers. He mentioned and quot;Home Depotand quot; and and quot;Lowesand quot; and he begin to talk about how Empire is a better company, ranked number one in flooring, and so forth. He then begin to ask us what type of flooring we were interested in. We told him carpet and hardwood, but mainly hardwood. He wanted to know why we were interested in carpet and said that we would definitely save alot of money if we decided on the carpet. We have a few stairs in our home and told the salesman that we actually preferred hardwood flooring, even on the stairs. He then told us that they would have to rip out our stairs and rebuild them custom and he said that alone would be close to $3,000, but, he said, atleast they would be customed. Needless to say, at that point, the company lost a sell. He told us there was no way they could place hardwood on existing stairs. We have had several quotes from other contractors and never before have been told anything like this. Something else that concerned us is that he would not give us a quote unless we were in agreement to use the company and agree to next day installation. He said that is the only way we would receive, what he called, a and quot;steal of a dealand quot; discount of $1,000. He said that if he gave us a quote today, and then we decided on installation on another day, we would loose the $1,000 discount. We told the salesman that we are smart consumers. We do our homework. He suggested that we have him to come back, measure and give us a quote at a later date, after we've done our homework. Then he proceeded to throw out a number. He said he thinks the job would be atleast $11,000. He never measured our home and never showed us any wood or carpet samples, but was able to determine a price of $11,000. Our home is about 1,500 sq ft Needand $11,000 is way above our budget and MUCH HIGHER than any other quote we have received. Needless to say again, there was no hope of a sale at this point. We feel that his overall objective was a sale, by any means necessary, and that is poor salemanship. So, no more Empire Today for us, ever and we would never refer them to anyone. We've decided to pursue an independent contractor who we found on Angie's List whose reviews are very good. Oh, by the way, the salesman never mentioned anything about the and quot;buy 1 room get 2 freeand quot; offer that is always adverised on their commercials. We brought it up and he then said the $11,000 includes that rate. We have never felt so taken advantage of.

Everything went alright. The main problem was that they didn't install the same product that we picked out. They also scuffed the floor a few times and had to come back.-Empire representative responding that they completed our repairs last year- this is not true. Our repairs were declined after sending out another empire representative after we placed our Angie's List review.

I contacted them after seeing an ad for and quot;buy one room of carpet and get two free.and quot; The sales person came out to my house and after measuring, gave me a price that was more than several locally-owned carpet stores that weren't having sales! The quality of the carpet she showed me was lower than the other stores as well. When I showed her the quotes and carpet samples from the other carpet stores, she got angry and practically ran out of my house! I will never purchase from this company -- their advertising is a scam!

They were okay. They had some unexpected delays without a good explanations. The quality of some of the laminate seemed to be different than what was expected.

I had a great experience from sales to finish. The sales rep was great to work with, talked through the options and did not try to sell me the most expensive items they had or push any extended warranties. He actually negotiated a lower price for me with his manager then he was able to provide himself and he booked the deal. Installation was scheduled for 2 days after I signed the contract, the installers arrived on time and did a great job installing my new pad / carpet and removing the old pad / carpet. During the installationg process, they moved furniture (and put it back) and was careful not to damage my walls. Overall, I had a great experience with Empire Today start to finish.

Overall it went well. There were areas of concern that I addressed and they corrected.

They are magnificent and I found them on TV. They are family owned. I was rolling around in my wheel chair last year and the wheel ground up the teeth of the carpet and it was in pieces. I talked to my daughter yesterday and she said she was going to get carpeting and I told her that she couldn't find a better price or quality. I can't say enough good stuff about their workmanship. Now on TV they are running an ad that says do 2 rooms and get 1 free. I was going to get it from Home Depot, the quality and price are not as good, and I saved money, headaches, worries, and problems. I called up, the next day, the estimator came, I picked out exactly what I was looking for and had it took 2-3 minutes. It took him seconds to measure and I got extra pieces for the stove, sink area, by the sliding glass doors, and one going out in my garage. I got the whole job done for $650 and senior discount of $50. The retail price was $13.86 a square yard and I can't wait to show it people when they come to my house. When Home Depot has a sale on carpet, they require a $35 deposit, it is not as good quality, and they charge you an extra $50 for everything they move including the table, each chair, stove, refrigerator, and even $50 for the old carpet they carry out. They also do window treatments, blinds, wood flooring, and tile I give them all A's, will continue to use and recommend them. They also offer a 10 year warranty and stain guard.

We had a real good experience with them. They did excellent. Everything went the way it should.

Sales persons was on time and very polite. Not much of a selection. Skipped over the weight of padding. Was not offered a choice of padding .I felt the price for the whole house was way out of line. I chose to do the office area and a large rec room. Installers were very good. They were polite and did their work very well. After the installation I was disapointed in the choice I had made. The padding was too thin for the slab floor and the carpet was not what I wanted as far as feel. Being it was in an office area I felt it would do, but cancelled the rest of the order for the large rec. room. At first the cancellation was easy. When I checked back they had the wrong amount to be credited. Went to several department before somebody found the error and corrected it. Do your homework first. Know what you want.

The sales person was professional and when he suddenly was unavailable, they promptly sent a new person. The installation people were very good and accomodating and flexible. We were very happy with the service overall.

Overall it was a great experience. The only problem I ran into was that a pedestal bathroom sink needed to be removed then replaced and after it was replaced the installers left a very slow leak that drained toward the wall behind the sink. My wife and I didn't notice it for two days after the work was done and by then the water had spread under a huge area of laminate, which ruined the flooring. I called the installer and explained what happened. He literally fell over himself apologizing and promised to make it right. After a couple of days of waiting for his order of new flooring to come in he came out and replaced it, making sure there were no leaks this time. I am actually not mentioning this leak problem as a negative - mistakes happen no matter how good you are - but rather as a positive because of how professionally the situation was handled. I would definitely use this company again.

Two gentlemen arrived on time and immediately got to work on installing our new hardwood floors. They worked efficiently and were very professional the whole time. I don't even recall them taking a lunch break - they just worked throughout the day until they were finally done around 7:00pm. The floors are BEAUTIFUL and they did a fantastic job! I could not be happier! What also impressed me was that they kept the areas they were working in very clean. They were constantly vacuuming up after themselves. They did the wood cutting in the driveway and empty garage and even swept and washed down both areas before they left. The company called to speak with my husband before the installers left to make sure that he was happy with everything. I would definitely recommend them!

Everything seemed great and convenient at first although the price was high I was happy they would do it on a Saturday. They didn't provide enough tile or quarter round for the installer to finish the job so it looks terrible. The installer made a mess of our tub and the walls. The wood was cut to install the tile but they damaged it and left the wood splintered and bare. The quarter round was blunt cut on the ends and left unfinished. The carpet strips have nip marks on them and some sort of black grease stain that won't come off. They have not called back like they should. Only the individual installer is trying to help us get resolution. Empire Today is a huge mistake!

Overall the estimates were insane. I can get really good sustainable (FSC certified) bamboo or hardwood flooring installed for less than he quoted me for laminate.

The salesman was cautious, professional and relaxed. He also provided additional feedback that he didn't need to do and was very knowledgeable about his product.

It was excellent. My husband contacted them on-line on Monday morning. We had a salesman at our home that night, then they got the carpet installed the next day. We had some questions and they dealt with it right there. It was great.

As far as the installation and the carpet it was fine. The salesman was very high pressure and I was not happy with him, but as far as the carpet it was great.

They were prompt, courteous and fast. The quality was good; however, there were a few installation glitches. Some of the carpet was not cut correctly, and they put in some short strips to try to fix the problems. Some of the laminate was not lined up correctly in one place.

It only took them one day. Probably about 8 hours or less. I did not compare the price to other places but it was probably on the high end. But it was worth it since they got done so quickly.

It was a fabulous experience from start to finish. I filled out a request for a sales estimate online Saturday morning, they were here at 9 a.m. Monday. Very friendly and helpful. They could tell that I knew what I wanted so they did not try to waste my time by selling me another product (it may have helped that I wanted a pricey items anyway). The salesperson was professional and efficient. He could tell that I was not pleased at all with the initial cost so he found some ways to get the cost down a bit. Note - you should know what materials and labor should cost for a job like this before you meet with Empire if you want a cost comparison because they do not provide itemized bills - they price the whole job as one - but since I had other quotes, I had an idea of how labor, tax and materials breakdown. The installers were the real surprise! They came early the next morning and there were only two of them. They were very courteous and came in, took a look around and got right to work, but not until they covered every step in their path with plastic/paper barriers to make sure they did not make a mess of my home. They set up their tools in my garage because it was raining. They moved very, very heavy furniture without any complaint or damage to the walls. One of the gentlemen checked in at various stages of the project to make sure that I was pleased. The installation of hardwoods was done so meticulously that I swear it looks as if they were built with the house. The choice of variations in the boards, thresholds, molding, all of it - perfect. It took all day which was the only disconnect because the sales person implied that it would only take a half day, but I was happy to wait for the quality. When they were done, they cleaned up better than when they had arrived with not one thing that wasn't quite right. Now I want to have the rest of my upstairs done in hardwood too. The only thing that gave me pause to the entire job was the cost - it was pretty high for the size of the room especially considering that I removed the carpet and padding myself but it was not completely out the neighborhood of other quotes and worth the cost to not have the hassle of the project dragging on for weeks.

Gentleman came out to give us an estimate on our flooring. We wanted to use the same hardwood previously used in another area of our home. He measured the flooring needed as 525 sq ft, (which allowed for waste). The initial estimate he gave us was $18,000. He said he could go down to $12,000, but must contact his manage to go any lower. Well, we had gotten 4 estimates on this floor. Every company measured our need as 525 sq ft, the produce was the same. The same amount of leveling and trim was quoted. We compared apples - to apples, as they say. The 4 estimates previously given was $3,700 - $4,800. Way less than Empire Today. What a waste of my time! When I heard the commercials, I thought I could get a reliable product at a reasonable price. They should be sued for false advertising. Feel sorry for customers who do not "shop around." - gonna get burned!!

I was completely unimpressed with this company. It was nice to have the salesman come so quickly, but I grew tired of the pitch. There were too many "let me talk to my manager" moments. What made it worse was when they showed up to do the install two days later, they didn't have enough carpet. So they finally came back the next day (and did give me $100 break on my price per my insistence) but the overall job they did on the install was at best medium quality. There were several seems still visible, several loose threads, etc., but what really angered me was finding out that they had totally destroyed some of the hardwood in our dining room during the install. I would not use this outfit again nor would I recommend that you do.
