This was the third time I have used EMF Electric this year. I cannot say enough positive things about Leon Shanklin and his employees. The latest was on a Sunday morning after a severe lightning storm that apparently hit my breaker box. I called Leon not knowing if he would come out on a Sunday. I left a message and within 10-15 minutes, he returned the call, told me what to do (most importantly, told me not to worry), and said he would be out. Leon came out at the time he promised, found the problem, and then corrected it. He is highly knowledgeable and experienced, not to mention fair and honest. Each time he has been to my house for a problem, he has been punctual and quickly found the problem. He is trustworthy and doesn't try to take advantage of a customer. I cannot recommend him and EMF Electric enough. I will use them over and over. EMF needs to be on Angie's List Honor Roll, included in the Pages of Happiness, and Top Company of the Year!

This was a Saturday at about 3:30 when I saw my breaker was tripping off over and over. I was going out of town on Monday for a week so was in a little panic. I called Leon at EMF Electric and he agreed to come by on his way home. He was here over an hour and repaired my box until he can come back with a new breaker. He also determined the problem was my pool pump, got his pool guy on the phone and set up for them to come take care of that. I was very pleased with his response and his service.

They were very prompt, efficient, professional and courteous. I love my new bathroom light. I can't say enough how great they are.

I was remodeling my downstairs kitchen area and hired EMF to come and install some electrical outlets and run wiring for a new dishwasher and oven. A representative came and gave me an estimate and talked with the project. When he returned he was able to finish all of the work downstairs as well as clean up some wiring issues that I was having at the same time. He was very professional and polite. The quality of the work done was first rate and all in all it only took approximately 5 hours to finish everything, including fixing some additional problems that were discovered along the way. The price was exceedingly reasonable for the time and quality of work performed, and I would certainly recommend using this company again in the future.

Had appt for 8:30 am. Because of storm, electricity was out in my area at that time. Called them to let them know. They told me to call when electricity came back on. Spoke with worker at 10:50, told me he was near Rea Rd and would be by me at 11:37. He and another worker arrived, moved sconces near garage to front door and put up two new sconces near garage. Approx. 1/2 hour, good work, friendly, professional.

I was very satisfied with the job that was done.

Leon arrived exactly when he stated. I explained to him our ceiling fan had stopped working. The light would come on but the fan would not work. He said it was probably a burned out motor due to recent storms, but he took the fan apart anyway, and it turned out just to be some loose wiring. He also discovered the mount wasn't placed correctly and fixed that for us as well. He also made it so that we could use one switch for our fan and two for the light. He was very friendly and clearly very knowledgeable. I highly recommend EMF Electric and will definitely use them for all our future electrical needs.

They dug a deep trench which was good but they did not tamp it down after refilling it. It then rained and parts of the trench washed out and a lot of mud formed. It is in the dogs yard and they are bringing in large amounts of mud. I will have to rake the dirt back into the trench and tamp it down myself.

Leon arrived on time and gave us an estimate of $180.00. He not only put in an outlet but also gave us a switch in the garage (we did not expect that). A professional job from start to finish.

I had a great experience with the guys from EMF Electric. After a really bad experience with another electrician several weeks prior, I called EMF to get a quote on installing the two sconces. Although I felt the price, in general, was high, it was exactly in line with the prices two other electricians quoted me (guess my price expectations were out of whack), so I booked the appointment. Upon arrival we went over what I wanted to have done - hardwiring the two sconces next to the bed and installing a light switch to operate them so you don't have to get out of bed and go over to the main switch by the entry door. I expected there would be some holes cut in the drywall (given my experience with the other electrician), but these guys said they'd go into the attic to see if, even though it was an outside/exterior wall, they could drop the wires from the attic. They were able to do it that way and in the end there were no holes in my walls, only two perfectly installed and perfectly placed sconces! They had great attention to detail, measured over and over to be sure the sconces were perfectly positioned in both height from the floor and width from the headboard. I was extremely pleased by their professionalism and abilities because two weeks prior I had another electrician relocate an electrical outlet and install a media outlet on the opposite wall (interior wall) and that electrician told me he couldn't access what he needed to from the attic, so they cute huge holes in my wall! I still don't understand how the bad electrician couldn't drop wires from the attic into an interior wall, yet the good electrician was able to drop wires from the attic from the opposite exterior wall. Guess that goes to show that there are some people who know what they are doing and others that don't. While they were at my house, I asked the EMF guys to repair a cut wire that the previous bad electrician had cut accidentally with a drywall saw (and never fixed or told me they compromised). They did so while marveling (in disgust) at the mess the other electrician had made. When all of that was complete I asked their opinion on a couple other projects and they freely gave their advice. I plan to do some of the other projects here soon and will definitely be calling EMF back to do them.

Unreliable. No show - no call. The company canceled on us 3 times. They rescheduled the first time, but didn't show up or call the next two times we scheduled service. We will not be using EMF in the future.

Leon rocks!!! On time, efficient, and neat. He completed the work as agreed and is meticulous!! Yes, we would call him in again and recommend him to friends for electrical work!

see above. Punctual, Pleasant and Professional. What more could you ask for. Doing remo;deling worl, one never knows when a problem comes up. But, when a problem does come up, for instance; disconnecting some live wires from my now removed kitchen island ...one wants those gone immediately. From initial call to job complete was about 3 hours/

EMF Electric Inc. was very responsive to my call, they were prompt on arriving, an very business like in there dealings.

I purchased 3 fans from Home Depot. EMF came and installed a fan each of our kids rooms and one in our bedroom. The house was built without overhead lighting. The switch on the wall controlled an outlet in each of the rooms. Leon rewired the switch and installed fans on the ceiling. The master bedroom fan was faulty so EMF was not able to finish the job on the spot. After I purchased a replacement, Leon came out after work on and replaced the faulty fan free of charge. I was very impressed with this as it was not his fault. These guys are great!

We are remodeling our kitchen. We are adding a dishwasher to a home that has never had a dishwasher before. Leon came out to estimate the cost about a week before the work was done. The day that he came to complete the work, he realized that the washing machine needed to be on it's own circuit. I also requested that he add an additional outlet to the kitchen. He was able to do both on the same day for an additional $100.

When I first called EMF, the phone was answered almost immediately by Leon. I described the work I would like to have done and requested he visit my home to give me an estimate. We set a time for the following day; he was right on time. At that time we set a date to have the work done. On that date he called me early and asked if he could reschedule a few days later because he had received a call from an elderly woman whose electricity had been knocked out by a storm overnight. I agreed that my need was not urgent and that he should held the other person first. When he arrived today to do the agreed upon work, he had a helper with him. Both men were courteous and hard-working. They installed two outdoor electrical outlets, installed a motion detector with light, put in a wall switch, and replaced a worn-out outdoor light fixture. I had purchased the brand motion detector he recommended and the outdoor fixture. He provided all the other supplies. I used my Angie's list coupon and was very pleased with the final total.

I called EMF. My call was answered right away. The electrician and his apprentice showed up the very next day which pleased me. They replaced some electrical cabling in my attic that was eaten away by squirrels and in doing so repaired an exterior flood light fixture that hadn't ever worked. When it turned out that new light bulbs had burned out, they even went to the local box store and picked 2 up. When they got back it started to rain and the electrician climbed his ladder up the second story and installed the bulbs in the rain. These guys were great, very professional, and were pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend this company and would absolutely call them again for my next project.

The light fixture in our master bath stopped working. We called EMF Electric on a Saturday and made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Leon had advised that we'd likely have to replace the entire fixture but he'd be happy to check first to see if it could be fixed. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and did a thorough workup to determine the source of the problem. Upon removing the light fixture itself, he and his assistant quickly determined that it was a bad connector and could be easily fixed. He worked quickly, professionally, cleaned up when he was finished and charged a very fair price. We would certainly call him again and highly recommend EMF Electric to our neighbors and friends.

We had used EMF before to install our receased lighting, and undercabinet lighting in our kitchen about a year ago. We had such a great experience with them then, that we did not hesitate to use them again for this project. Leon gave us a quote for the job, and we scheduled a time for him to come in to complete the work on the same phone call. They showed up on time, and completed the job quickly. They did a great job again, and we would not hesitate to give them a call for any future projects. In addition to their work, one of the best things about them is you almost always get Leon on the phone right away whenever you call. If you happen to get his voicemail, he returns your call quickly. Great customer service!

I had a wall receptacle that wasn't working. Leon came out promptly and found and fixed the problem. He charged me less than his estimate because the problem was easy to find and fix.

I called EMF in the morning and Leon was able to come by in two hours. He came when he said he would, repaired the wiring and explained what had happened. Very professional, very prompt, very good! I will definitely call him again for any electrician needs.
