After 20 years of use my garage door had developed a split at the top and the operator bracket was pulling away from the door. When the door was open it sagged at the top where the split was. With six kids this door gets a lot of use (and abuse). Chris did a fine job of installing a 16 foot strut at the top of the door to reinforce it and straighten out the sag. He also replaced the operator bracket with something more heavy duty. The $208.90 price was reduced to $188.90 after a $20 Angies List coupon. The whole process took about 90 minutes. I was concerned that I would have to replace the door. But Chris said he does these kind of repairs all the time. Now the door runs like new.

Called Elite last night around 5:10 pm and left a message explaining that I had a cracked garage door spring and needed a quote on replacing it. Frank, the owner called back within 20 minutes, apologizing that he couldn't take my call when I first dialed in as he was on the other line. I explained to my issue to Frank, received a quote and scheduled an appointment for between 8 and 9 am the next morning. At 7:50 am, I received a call from Technician Chris, who said he was in route to my home and would be there in 30 minutes. Chris arrived within the promised time-frame and got right to work. Overall, the job took about an hour and a half. Chris custom made the new springs on site (Note: This was a 2 car garage door, so I went ahead and replaced both springs - although only one was broken) As part of process, Chris weighed my door to ensure that the spring would fully support the weight of my door, plus meet the expected life-span. Before leaving, Chris checked out a single bay garage door I also had to ensure that there were no issues with the spring supporting that door. I appreciated the extra effort. Thanks to the coupon offered to Angie's List members, I was able to save $ 20.00 off the cost of the repair. Thanks to Elite's quick turn-around on the repair, good price and 5 year warranty on the parts and labor, I will definitely use them again.

On Sunday evening my garage door spring broke, leaving both cars stranded in the garage. I called Elite and received their answering machine. I left a message and they returned my call that evening. They were able to come by early the next morning. The tech called prior to the appointment to let me know when he would arrive. Before replacing the spring, the tech weighed my door to ensure that the new spring was appropriate for the weight of the door. The tech also showed us how to open the 320 lb door in case the spring ever broke again. I am very pleased with the repair and feel that those I interacted with at Elite were very knowledgeable about garage door repair.

On Sunday evening, my brother could not open my garage door and discovered that one of the springs was broken. I immediately called the 24/7 emergency service number of the original installer -- Overhead Doors of Charlotte. An on -call manager was supposed to call me back and never did. While waiting for them to call back, I decided to go on Angie's List and saw Elite at the top of the list. If I hadn't, I'd still be waiting with my car trapped inside my garage and me stranded. I now know why Elite is at the top of Angie's List for garage door service. I called Elite and within 10 minutes, Frank, the owner, called me back and was at my house within 30 minutes. He repaired the broken spring and replaced the other one as well as a precaution. In addition, he had to re-install the safety sensors because they were originally installed too high and not according to code. He also noticed that the track bracket for the garage door opener was installed wrong as well (not surprising since Overhead Doors once installed the battery backwards for the garage door opener battery backup). . In short, thanks to Elite, I had the repairs done immediately -- in a prompt, courteous, professional way. Quality at a reasonable price. And this on a Christmas holiday weekend. Elite epitomizes exemplary customer service. Frank goes the extra mile. I would definitely call Frank again and highly recommend his company to my family and friends. My time dealing with shoddy service and workmanship from companies like Overhead Doors is over. ELITE IS ELITE!!!

Garage door spring broke on a Sunday night. After consulting Angie's List I called and left a message that same night. Eddie called me back within an hour and said he could be out the next day in the afternoon. Showed up on time, introduced himself and his assistant and got right down to business. There was a connector that was broken years prior that he said he could replace at no charge for the part becasue he had to replace a similiar door earlier and he had the exact part from that. A situation that he could have charged me for and I would be none the wiser...I appreciated his concern about my bottom line. Work was completed in about an hour and a half. Everything works perfectly. Eddie came across to me as very professional, honest and personable. If I have any more issues with one of my garage doors I will not hesitate use his company again.

A vehicle had ran into our garage door causing minor damage to the ends of two of the panels, resulting in the door being unable to open or close properly. The door has no model number or brand label, so I did not know who to call. Through Angie's List, I found Elite Garage Door and spoke with Frank, the owner. Frank came to my home, quickly identified the brand and model of my door, and agreed to order the necessary parts. Once he received the parts, Frank returned (on a Saturday!) to dismantle the door, rebuild the panels, re-assemble the door, then test all the functions and safety guards. Then, in addition, he also tuned-up and tested my two other garage doors. Each door now operates as if they were new! I will definitely call upon Elite Garage Door in the future. Being that I travel frequently, I especially appreciate being able to communicate with the owner directly through email as well as via cell.

Frank arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He fixed the worn out gear and now it runs even better than before.

Called Frank to discuss what is involved in installing a garage door. After specifying what I was looking for, he gave me a price that included everything. I asked that he call before our appointment so I could be at home during lunch time. He did just that. Arrived on time and installed the opener in the time frame he promised. Installation was professional. Frank went thru all the details of operating. He also greased & oiled the existing garage door which I did not expect him to do. The door now opens quieter than ever. I had an appointment at 1:00 pm and my garage door came out of the track and the tension spring came off on one side of the garage. I called Elite and spoke with Frank who advised me that he could come and fix the problem. He was at my home within 1 hour of the call, and he had basically diagnosed the problem over the phone. When he got here and took a look, he was correct with his diagnosis. He took a look at my rollers and found them to be quite small and showed me how they were slipping out of the frame, which ultimately created the problem. I made the decision to change the rollers based on his recommendation. He also moved the tension rods, and showed me what the problem was, and he fixed everything. He is very professional, polite and certainly knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who has a garage door problem. He is articulate, and spot on with diagnosing, and fixing the problems. I will most certainly be using him on an annual basis to make sure everything is working properly with the door so this doesn't happen again.Very happy with Elite!!

Frank was here in 30 minutes and then ordered parts and came back the next day and our garage door is perfect. THe price was great and Frank being the owner did a super job. He is a real professional and knows what he is doing. If you are not using Elite Garage door service you should be. I am a very happy customer.

Contacted Elite in the morning after our garage door spring appeared to be broken. They were out within 6 hours, replaced the lift spring (they had all the parts on the truck), reinforced the hinge, and tested the safety of the door operation. I'm not sure what else you can ask for from a company you do business with. They were professional, efficient, friendly, fairly priced, did the job and were on down the road. I would recommend them highly for any garage door service.

This was our second experience with Elite. They were here in December 2011 to replace the lift spring on our double door that had broken. Our experinece with them was so good we decided to have them back in the spring to replace all of our aging and decrepit garage door systems. Frank provided us a quote on the replacement system and installed all the hardware himself when promised. The quality of work performed by Frank was first class. Finished details such as neatly run wires and very robust hardware components is indicative of what we have come to expect from Frank and his company. Frank spent additional time to walk us through all the systems incuding menu option selections on our LiftMaster controls. This included his help in making sure our cars Homelink systems worked with the new system. I have no hesitation is recommending Frank and his company for any repairs or new components you need installed.

Frank returned my call the same day and did the work a day and a half later, in spite of the fact that his technician had just quit. He did ask if it was an emergency so I felt like he would have arranged to come sooner if needed. Immediately, he determined I needed to replace my 20 year old opener, which had stripped gears, and the rollers. The door and springs were in good shape. He explained in detail what door openers were available, what maintenance work was needed, how long it would take, security, warranties. He was finished in less than 1 1/2 hours, cleaned up everything in his work space, programmed/explained the equipment, provided owners manual and written warranty. I am very pleased with his service, professionalism, and the new equipment. The LiftMaster opener is so smooth and quiet, I can barely hear it. The outdoor keypad is the best thing since sliced bread.

Very well. Opener was ordered ahead of job and then installed. Answered several questions about original installation, which was not correct. Was able to start job promptly, even though he seemed very busy with current jobs. Would recommend to anyone seeking this type of work. Felt very satisfied after job was completed. Went over the installation in detail, showing how to use and "do's and dont's". Excellent shop!

I reached Frank on the first try. He was at my house within the hour of the initial call and was able to perform all repair work within 45 minutes of arrival. He was very professional, walked me through all the necessary repair steps, and discussed, in detailed, future maintenance which will prevent the same problem from occurring. I couldn't have asked for a faster or better repair experience. Would highly recommend...!

Frank responded almost immediately to my initial car, arrived the same day to provide an estimate, gave me an estimate on the spot and we scheduled the work a few weeks out. His team arrived when they were supposed to and spent extra time doing the install. We need to finish a few items (nothing as a reflection of Elite Garage Company) but rather some complications from high lift door systems. Overall I am very pleased with them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in installing/repairing doors and openers.

Frank did a fantastic job. We have custom doors and I was really concerned that we'd have to replace the damaged panel, or worse, the entire door. Frank did a thorough inspection, assured us it was repairable and did his magic in 2 hours. I couldn't believe it. The door worked and looked like new after he was done. Unfortunately I forgot to present the Angies List coupon at the time of service. It doesn't expire until later in 2012 - so I will use it then - should I have a need.
