Eager Beaver Handyman Service

Looked like I did it; in the same amount of time that I would done. I paid a decent price the the work required and medicore quality.

He was very responsive and punctual.

I didn't like the price. It was $1200 or $1400 for a railing going three steps. I think that's a little high. They were fine. They're a great company. The guy came out and he was a vet. He was professional. I have a lot of respect for the guy for what he did for our country. It was a great experience other than the price.

Frank was sent by Shane to install the ceiling fan and garbage disposal. He was courteous and did an excellent job. I would definitely use Eager Beaver Handyman Services again.

I needed somebody to disassemble a very large wooden play set that we were moving with us. Shane was very responsive, professional, and quick! I called him a week and half before I needed the service and he was able to accomodate my schedule easily. It took him and his employee one hour to disassemble the entire play set and move to the driveway. I would highly recommended.

The team (two) was very professional and friendly. Easy to talk to and answer all questions. They were very organized in their approach, which was necessary for putting together this particular island. It was very evident that they are experts in the business. They were on time for the appointment. They cleaned up after the assembly was complete, and again was very kind.

Booking was easy through Angie's List SnapFix, however, when I originally scheduled the service, Shane was unable to complete the work. He said he would need to come back the next day, after further inspection, with his carpenter to do the work. I appreciated his honesty, but was tight on time for the work to be done. This could have been rectified had the photo on SnapFix been shared with Shane (Angie's List problem, not Eager Beaver). I had rescheduled with Shane for 3 PM the next day. He did not show on-time, which I found frustrating with my tight timeline. However, once he arrived with his carpenter the job was quick, easy and right. I appreciate the work, just wished the scheduling and punctuality was done better. I would use Shane again for future jobs.

The handyman was punctual and professional. He initially wanted to make two holes through the jewelry armoir itself in order t mount it on the wall. I didn't like that idea, so he did the job via the hardware attached on the back of the armoir. He took the measurements, but somehow the holes were not made at the right length, so he had to make two other holes in the wall. I didn't like that very much. But the finished job looks great. The handyman plastered the extra hole that was showing at the edge of the jewelry box. I will have to have that spot on the wall covered eventually with touch-up paint. He cleaned up the room after he finished the work. Overall, I am content with his work.

I called Shane about placing some plywood in the attic and screwing it down as well as replacing the exhaust fan in a bathroom. It would be two different appointments as it required two different installs. Shane himself showed up to place the plywood in the attic and showed up with several sheets of plywood he picked up on the way. Once here he looked in the attic and explained because of the duct work in the attic that no more plywood would fit. He did not charge me for the visit or the trip to pick up the plywood. He said he would simply return the wood and there was no service charge. On the second appointment his electrician came to install the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The fan had been there since the home was built in the 70?s so he had a difficult time removing the original fan. He stuck with it and did the job and the fan works as it should. Shane quoted me at no more than $120.00 with no cosmetic defects to the ceiling area of the exhaust fan; I ended up paying $180.00. Due to the trouble he had getting the original fan out; the ceiling was messed up around the area he worked in quite a bit. However, Shane said he would make it right and he would get it fixed at no charge to me. It took a few days to have his drywall guy come out due to scheduling problems on my behalf. I explained to Shane that I was having a crew come in later in the month to have all the walls and ceilings painted so there was no need for his guy to paint it, just to have it ready to paint. The drywall guy called the day of the appointment and was running a little behind. Normally this would not be a big deal but I was packed and leaving out of town for a few days. All the same I waited and he showed up about thirty minutes later. He applied some drywall tape and mud to the area and confirmed with me that there was no need to paint the area. He then said that the area would oblivious need to be sanded. I said this would not be a problem as I had a painting company coming out at the end of the month to paint and I would just have them sand the area. The painting company is working on the job that I have hired them for now and has informed me that the ceiling area around the exhaust fan in the bathroom will have to be repaired before they can paint it. I asked why as I was told that all it needed was to be sanded. They then showed me what they were talking about and that whoever fixed it did not do it correctly. So now I have to pay this company to fix something I have already paid to be fixed. I understand that in any job that things happen and situations may arise, however I am disappointed that in the end I paid more than originally quoted just to have to pay another company again to fix the same problem. Overall I am pleased with Shane as he was always courteous, prompt and answered my calls in a timely manner. This review is overdue as I have just returned into town this past weekend and I have not talked to Shane to explain to him about the drywall as I just found out about it this morning (June 23, 2014 - the first day the painting company is here) so reading this review will be the first Shane hears of it. Again, I am disappointed to have to pay more than I was quoted just to pay another company to repair what I thought was repaired and not the fact that I paid more than I was originally quoted.

Went great. Called and was able to schedule service 5 days later. They base costs on hours, so based on a brief description over the phone we got a rough estimate which was actually pretty close to the final. This was very helpful. We've used a few home service providers before, this was the best. They knew what they were doing, very professional, and didn't leave a mess...also very important. The job itself was well done and they didnt cut any corners. Have no complaints. Will use them again.

Shane does waht he says and in a timely and reasonable price.

Handyman Cel. arrived on time,installed new lock -doorknob,very quick,neat,courteous,also fixed interior garage light fixture,which was loose & not functioning.I called them after purchasing a "deal" from another provider ewho was not able to make appointment.The lock was an emergency,& they were able to fit me in their schedule,which is much appreciated

Shane is very responsive and extremely friendly. He comes to look at the work and then sends one of his "handymen" to complete the job. Stell came to fix the post and the piece in the kitchen. The finishing in the kitchen was extremely difficult because the original work was bowed and not nailed in to a backdrop. Stell worked until he found a solution and he matched the color to the rest of the area. It looks great. They provided a free estimate on the deck, but we decided to go with someone else and re-work the whole area. I will definitely be asking Shane and Stell to come back when I need my ceiling fans and new dining room fixtures installed.

Quick response. Called ahead with slight delay, timing worked out good for me. Reasonable price for work accomplished, cleaned up well after job complete, spent time showing me how to raise/lower goal. Good value, would use again.

I gave Shane a long list of a variety of tasks from plumbing and electrical to construction odds and ends. He and his crew did a great job in the given time frame. Shane stands by his word and is an honorable businessman.

I found the co. on Angie's search; went to eager beaver website link and filled in their form (Angie's List prominently displayed on their site) asking for a call about the outlined project; hanging 3 different cabinets. NEVER heard back from EB; either a notice their site got the email (clever cos. do this) nor a call from the owner. I have found another local handyman that called back a day after my vmail, while he was on vaca in NJ, but will ring Friday when back in SC. He has all my work.

Delay on material but work was done very well. Pleased with results.

Shane was punctual with getting me an estimate for a complicated job. His worker, Celestino, arrived on time and did a great job. It was a lot of hard work, but when he was done everything looked great -- better than it has in years! Shane went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our experience. The quality of their work was top-notch and their commitment to customer service definitely shone through! We would definitely hire Shane's team again and would recommend his service to anyone looking for a prompt, hard-working, fairly priced handyman.

Shane and his crew replaced the attic vent last year because birds had torn apart the vent and gotten in. He replaced the vent and added a screen, but this year we noticed a couple of birds flying in and out of the vent again. Shane and his crew replaced the vent with a new version, which should keep those pesky birds out for good! I would highly recommend Eager Beaver and will use them again.

I do not live in the Charlotte area so I hired Eager Beaver (who I had previously used for handyman projects) to manage and complete deferred maintenance and upgrades to a 2 bed/2 bath rental condo whose previous tenent was a hoarder. Eager Beaver found and managed subcontractors for painting, countertop restoration, and plumbing repairs. They completed the remainder of the scope of work.with their staff. The scope of work included painting all walls and ceilings including wallpaper and popcorn ceiling removal; installing a new wood floor; replace kitchen countertops; install a new kitchen sink; add a tile backsplash; install new hardware to kitchen cabinets; replace mirrors, faucets, and lightng in each bathroom; install a new vanity and countertop in one bath; install new window blinds; install new outside and foyer light fixtures; replace old fire alarms; repair and paint outside deck; paint front door; and complete a final cleaning. The project went well, especially considering the 500 mile distance between me and project. All of the work was completed in a professional manor and with a high quality of workmanship. The project was originally to be completed in 3 weeks but ended up taking an additional 2 weeks. While this is not uncommon in remodeling work, I felt better front end planning could have established a better schedule in the beginning. More importantly, I did not insist on Eager Beaver providing a detailed written scope of work and cost estimate before work started. I ask for one but it was never produced. This may have been because this was a large project for Eager Beaver and they lacked familiarity with planning and costing it. As a result I feel as though I paid to much for the work that was completed. A better plan and cost proposal would have given me a better feel of what to expect and solidified the schedule and the costs. That said, the final product is quality workmanship and inhanced the value of the property.

We had a miscommunication about the time of the appointment so Shane was at my house an hour before I was. I think that was the reason he spent less than 5 minutes looking at the work I needed to have done, then provided only an hourly rate quote....no materials or anything. I found someone else (a friend of a friend) who sent two guys to do the estimate so one could be on the roof and one could be in the attic. Being so thorough, they found the leak and provided a price for the roof repair, ceiling repair, insulation replacement....labor & materials. I went with them.

Very responsive and professional. Would use them again in the future.
