Eager Beaver Handyman Service

The crown molding in the kitchen had pulled away from the ceiling, caulk had been applied to fill the space, but it had cracked over time. Sean gave us an estimate of $290 (including materials) to remove the caulk, add a thin piece of wood to cover the space, and repaint the molding. We had an appointment set up for several weeks. The day before the appointment, I realized the kitchen sink was leaking, so called Sean to see if he could have the plumber come on the same day. He was able to set that up for the next day. The carpenter (another Sean) arrived at the scheduled time. He and his assistant removed the cracked caulk, added the strip of wood and painted the crown molding. Looks fantastic. While he was here, I asked him if he could do something about the thin strip of grout between the granite counter tops and the backsplash (brick-like tiles) that was coming out in several places. He suggested using a sand grout rather than caulk and was able to match the color of the existing grout with a sand caulk. They removed everything from the counter tops, added the caulk and then cleaned and sealed the granite counter tops ($167.12 including materials). The plumber came and advised the leak was from the garbage disposal and it would have to be replaced. (The disposal was pretty old.). He purchased the disposal we agreed upon and installed it ($275.00 including the disposal). Working great. Everyone showed up on time, were professional, and did great work. This is the third time we have called Eager Beaver, but won't be the last.

Eager Beaver provided professional, courteous, and thorough work.. Shane's assistant, also named Shane, did an outstanding job; he was organized, hard-working, and very thorough. He paid remarkable to attention to details and left our house sparkling - despite the gritty and dusty nature of the work. Shane's tile contractor, Anthony, was also excellent. He cleaned up as he worked and left our house immaculate. Jorma, who installed the vents, was also excellent. And, to our delight, Eager Beaver's cost estimate was on the mark, which is particularly impressive as this was a multi-task punchlist project spread over two months and multiple different work crews. Bravo to Eager Beaver.

Our experience with Shane and his crew has been excellent from beginning to end. I really value good communication as well as quality work for a fair price, and Shane was right on top of it! He was very quick and clear when confirming appointment information, even on the day of the work, letting us know by email that he was on way! His entire crew was always punctual, and courteous. The work was done quickly, and very professionally. Everything works great, and looks great. They were very respectful of our home while working and kept their work spaces clean. They even took care of all the boxes, and dropped off our old fixtures at the donation center for us. I really liked that! Their quote for all of the work they did was great, and we are already talking about new projects with Shane in the future. I would highly recommend him!

Estimate provided by Eager Beaver was 125% over what two other companies were. Also, the estimate was not detailed in providing what work would be done to repair the items requested and what the estimated labor would be.

I am very satisfied with the service. Service tech was punctual and very friendly. Didn't recommend unnecessary repairs as I have dealt with in the past with other companies.

They came out and installed a motion light in the garage. We didn't have a light switch in the house for the garage lights and it would be very dark when exiting the house. Instead of installing a switch in the house they saved us a lot of money by installing a motion sensing switch. So now every time we open the door to the garage the lights come on. We also wanted a flood light install on the outside corner of our house and again instead of charging us for extra work they just installed a motion sensing flood light.

Shane was eager to make an appointment with me. He called the day of the appointment and asked if they could come an hour early, which was great. They were friendly and immediately got to work. They did everything I needed in 15 minutes. I will definitely call again.

Very satisfied with Shane's work. He mounted a TV and provided a quote on some other work we are considering. Scheduling the work was easy, he was on time, and the TV looks great. Will likely work with again and would recommend.

Shane Halpin, the owner of EagerBeaver sent out the electricians to install this outlet in my kitchen. A line had to be run from the kitchen to the electrical panel on other end of house, through the crawlspace-no easy task. Shane came over to see how things were going and ran to Lowes for parts which freed up the electricians to do the preliminary cutting for the routing of the wire and positioning of the outlet box. The whole job took about two hours. The fellas did a great job. Shane's crews always do a very nice job, are polite, and do a fine job of cleaning up. This is probably the fourth or fifth time I have used EagerBeaver and they have yet to disappoint.

Shane the owner of the business arrived promptly to come and see what the work we needed done was. He was extremely professional and courteous and prompt with providing us with the quote for the services needed. We set up our time to get the work done which was a couple weeks out from when we received our quote, which was a good indicator to us that they are a highly sought after service. On the day of the service Sal arrived on time to start the work. Sal was amazing friendly, polite and highly competent when it came to getting everything done. The job took him a couple hours over the initial quoted time due to some previously unknown issues with the plumbing under the sink overall we were beyond impressed with the quality of work done and the character of Sal and Shane as they only charged us for the initial quoted time of 5 hours. All in all Eager Beaver Handyman Services really impressed us! Amazing job!!

I have no complaints. They did great work. The experience was great. They were very prompt. They communicated with me through the whole project.

Jae and Shane arrived at my home well within the specified time frame. They also called me when they were on their way. I already had most of the parts. so no time used going for parts. They immediately began cutting a hole in the wall opposite the new switch position, installed the junction box, went around and installed the switch box. Ran the wiring, installed the switches and cover, then cleaned up his work area. As usual, another great job, fairly priced and professionally done-what more can you ask.

I was very impressed by all aspects of the work provided by Shane Halpin and Eager Beaver. I was initially impressed that I spoke to someone when I called with my inquiry. When researching other providers, I had to leave messages on answering machines for those I contacted. After scheduling my estimate, I received a work order via email with the details which I felt was very professional. The bid provided was a "not to exceed" amount which I really appreciated as I knew I would not have any surprises. As I was working with a tight budget this was important ( the job came in a good bit under the not to exceed budget which was a very happy conclusion for me). The work was scheduled promptly once I accepted their bid and I was given regular updates via emailed work order updates as well. The person who arrived to do the work was exceedingly pleasant, courteous and did a great job. He also did an excellent job of cleaning up. He even remembered to close my back gate. This may seem like a small thing, but since I have 2 dogs, a gate carelessly left open can mean disaster. This has happened to me before, so I really appreciate when someone goes the extra mile to follow up on the small things like that. It makes me feel like that attention to detail is extended to the rest of their work. Finally, Shane called me to personally make sure the work was completed to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Eager Beaver.

Shane came out and looked at all the items I wanted done. He gave me prices on some and advised the electrician and plumber would give on site estimates the day of service and I could decide at that time if I wanted to proceed. Everyone was scheduled for the same day. Shane arrived, the electrician came and gave an estimate and proceeded to do the work. The plumber also came and gave an estimate, so he proceeded to do the work. Another man came who re-routed the microwave exhaust fan to the outside vent and cleaned the dryer vent. Everyone was here and gone in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I was very pleased with the end result in each area. The men who were here were very professional, knew what they were doing, and cleaned up after themselves. I felt the pricing was very fair. We have already spoken to Shane about some things we want done in the future.

I have been on the hunt for a good, dependable handyman service who could help with my rental properties. This was my second time using Eager Beaver. The first time there were issues with the technician showing up on time. I got a call 1 minute before the appointment telling me they were going to be late. Ultimately they showed up (hours later) and did the work. The quality of the work was excellent. So I gave them another chance on what I thought was a simple service request. I contacted Eager Beaver on 12/15/2014 via Angies's List. In the request I listed several dates/times I hoped would work. On 12/16 I received an email saying I would get a call that day to confirm on of the dates, no problem. I got the call and we confirmed the appointment for 12/19 at 4:00. On Friday, 12/19 at 2:37 I got a call from the owner Shane Halpin saying that things were bad that day and would I mind rescheduling. He requested a Sunday (12/21) appointment (keep in mind this is the Sunday before Christmas) - Sunday at 2:00. I had to call and reschedule with the tenants at the rental property again and make sure they would be home to give him access to the garage where the shutters were stored. They agreed to be available. On Sunday morning at 12:05, Shane sent me an EMAIL (not a phone call, or text, but an EMAIL) saying quote "I have an emergency service call today and I have to do a final reschedule of the shutters. They will be done tomorrow at 4:00pm without a doubt". I didn't see his email right away. When I did I emailed him back telling him how disappointment I was, that 1) he emailed rather than called to cancel the SUNDAY APPOINTMENT HE REQUESTED 2) he was blowing me off for another job 3) this was the 3rd time I have had issues. I told him to forget it I would find someone else. Later that day I got an email AND a text from Shane, apologizing and offering to do the job for free. I agreed. We confirmed for Monday 12/22 at 4:00. I again contacted the renters to be available for the appointment. At 4:48 (note that it is now 48 minutes AFTER the scheduled appointment time) I received what appeared to be an automated/triggered email from Eager Beavers telling me the repair person was enroute. Well he/she must have been coming from Mars or Jupiter, because we are STILL WAITING. That's right, NO ONE SHOWED UP!!!!!!!!!! There is just no excuse... My recommendation is to AVOID Eager Beaver unless you just NEED more stress and hassle in your life.
