Wish I could give a higher rating that an A on responsiveness! Shane (the owner) actually answered my call. He was in transit when he took my call so he told me he would call my back in 1.5 hours. He called me back 1.5 hours later and was able to schedule an appointment to get my repair done two days later! Shane 2 (the technician - same name as the owner) arrived at my house promptly on the day of the service. Repairs were done in an hour. I will definitely use this company again and will recommend them to friends.

It went very well! Shane works very fast and can do everything! In order to complete the items on my list, he had to run to Lowe's to get some supplies. It's amazing he did that and completed everything in two hours. He is nice to work with too. The Eager Beaver Handyman Service two-hour deal is a great value!

Shane is amazing at communication. Between personal visits and phone calls and an automated email system that let me know when workers were en route, on site, and done for the day, I knew exactly what was happening and when. Shane's team was friendly, hard working and creative at problem solving (when necessary). They took pride in their work and kept the project(s) moving. Shane was able to provide add-on services and was mindful of my time and budget constraints. I am currently preparing a to-do list for the Eager Beaver Handyman team in my new house.
Description of Work: We were preparing our house to sell and Shane's team checked off many items on our to-do list. They replaced damaged siding shingles, framed an exterior door and window, replaced crawl space doors, repaired faulty roof bracing, installed a toilet, replaced porch railings and spindles, stabilized attic access ladder, and installed miscellaneous decorative trim.

I called Shane and he immediately scheduled me for an evaluation. He was punctual when he showed up, he prepared documentation on his phone as we walked through all of the small chores, and told me he would email an estimate to me. Within 48 hours I had the estimate and had scheduled the work. The worker was prompt, courteous, and professional. After the work was complete, Shane emailed the invoice to me, then emailed an online link for payment. It was so easy! A week later I needed some work done on a rental property and immediately called Eager Beaver. My renters now have his contact information and know to call him directly in an emergency. It's nice to have found my handyman. What a relief.
Description of Work: We had a home inspection punch list of 4-5 items that needed to be completed quickly: replace weather stripping; shave a door; replace some dry rot, and paint the replaced wood.

i remodeled my bathroom and called Eager Beaver to install the new toilet that i bought. Very professional and did a great job. I i will use Eager Beaver again. I have used Eager Beaver for many repairs in my home. I've had a toilet leak repaired and a kitchen sink leak repair. I was not happy with the way the tube part under the toilet was left, it curved to the outside of the toilet and it showed more than the one i had originally. i called Shane and he immediately came and change the direction of the curve so it would go under the toilet and i did not see it anymore. Shane is always happy to come back if you have any problems or are not totally satisfied. I appreciate his customer service.

Had a pump in our washing machine blow a hole and flood second floor laundry. After a restoration company came we needed a company to come in and replace the pad, baseboards, quarter-round as well as paint those items, re-stretch the existing carpet that it was dried by restoration company. An estimate was provided for the work to be performed. When reviewing the quote it appeared low so I contacted the owner to confirm the figures were correct, I was assured the quote was correct and inclusive to all supplies and labor needed to take our home back to its original state. We were told that one day the carpet pad, baseboards, quarter-rounds and paint would be done and the next day a carpet installer would come to replace the carpet and re-stretch it in place. The day of the job, we were informed all work would be conducted the same day. The carpet pad that was replaced was grossly different in quality than the existing pad which left a noticeable height difference in the carpet when placed over the pad. When I brought it to the attention of the installer he said that it should be fine upon wear. That is impossible since the replaced pad is LOWER in height than the existing pad, further use would only make the situation worse. The owner of the company was called and said that he would correct the issue and replaced the pad with another pad still of not like quality but was acceptable. When the carpet was replaced over the pad the seams are horribly noticeable which is not the case with the rest of the carpet on that floor. When brought to their attention the owner said that "a professional" could be brought in to properly seam the carpet but it would be at an additional cost. We never requested a "discounted" quote or for corners to be cut. When it came time to pay for the work performed the amount of the invoice was over $70 higher than the quote. When questioned the owner said that he underestimated the job and cost of supplies. Keep in mind this is what was questioned before the work began and was assured the quote was accurate. Now we are faced with unprofessional seams in our carpet and paying an increased invoice due to the job being "underestimated." I have emailed the owner and requested that the seams be repaired properly and will wait to hear back from him. I hope this can be resolved quickly as we are not pleased with how the carpet was re-stretched and seamed. The other work (painting, etc. was acceptable). Rebuttal to Company Response: ?Eager Beaver states he would have never accepted payment if there were concerns presented at the time of completion. There were clear concerns brought to Shane?s attention by my husband and that is when Shane said that a carpet contractor can be sent in at an additional cost to us. Shane said he would send in a professional. My husband?s response was, I thought we hired a professional and further said that we are not willing to pay more for someone else to come when Shane?s estimate was to include placing our carpet back down and re-seam it. Shane made it seem as though he was doing us the favor by installing the right padding and re-stretching the carpet at no cost to the client. Yes that is what someone would expect as that is what the job entailed, that is what he was hired to do. He mentions the ?age of my carpet?, my house is 3 years old and my carpet is 2 years old. When he made the statement the ?Clean up company? was not gentle in the removal of the pad and cutting the carpet. The carpet was NEVER cut. The carpet was taken apart at the seam at the threshold of the door leading into the guest room. If these ?so called? conditions were true Shane would have seen them the day he came and provided the estimate. He said that we addressed all voiced concerns, presented a fair invoice with the only overage being the supplies (he should be able to provide an accurate estimate, this is HIS business) WE NEVER AGREED WITH HIM ABOUT THE OVERCHARGE. he collected a check ? let?s keep in mind he said at the beginning of his statement he would have never accepted payment if there were concerns presented at the time of completion. There is a clear contradiction of what he said at the beginning of his statement. I emailed Shane to an email we had previously corresponded on and when I received no response is when I posted my review. By Monday, February 8th, Shane called my cell phone and began yelling at me, telling me that I have to remove the post. I asked that he refrain from yelling at me and he laughed. The conversation became so bad I ended up hanging up the call. At 10:14 am Shane began emailing me and during the course of the emails stated he has contacted his attorney and in one email stated he provided a deadline that if I do not remove my post by the end of the day (February 8th) he said there is a resolution department which I said I was aware of but I was at work and would have to address this later in the day outside of business hours but he insisted that I remove my post, when I declined he said and I quote, ?I will not be participating in any further resolutions. The emails continued until 12:52 PM!!? In Shane?s review on Angie?s List he states he is waiting for Mrs. Client to contact him to resolve the issue. In closing my husband and I went through the resolution process with Shane only to collect the ?OVERCHARGE? for his ?UNDERESTIMATE? which should NOT be our responsibility and the cost for a carpet company of our choice to come into my home to correct the carpet issue totaling. Shane is unwilling to resolve this issue and refund us the amount of: $199.08, ($125.00 for the carpet company and $74.08 the OVERCHARGE)the extra out of pocket expense(s) we incurred due to his negligence.

Response from Eager Beaver Handyman Service
I never would have accepted payment if there were any concerns presented to us at the time of completion. I spoke with Mr. Client and he understood the supply budget overage was unavoidable. I accepted that my technician chose the wrong padding because he went by the thickness and not its density. Once the problem was presented to me, I stopped the clock, found and bought the right padding out of my pocket. We installed the right padding and re-stretched the carpet at no cost to the client. Mrs. Client clearly had expectations of a full restoration of the carpet to a point of 100%. This is not possible due to the age of the carpet and the fact that we had to follow a "Clean-up company " that was not gentle in there removal of padding and cutting the carpet. We addressed all voiced concerns, presented a very fair invoice with the only overage being the supplies, and collected a check. I received a malicious review from Mrs. Client Monday morning without so much as an email or phone call to give me a heads up that there was a problem. I offered to have an independent carpet repair sub-contractor come out and see if they could improve the condition of the carpet seams and I'm waiting to hear back from Mrs. Client.

This was a great experience. I purchased a coupon for 2 hours of service via Angie's List. Shane H contacted me immediately to schedule and the work was scheduled within a few days at a convenient time. The other Shane came to do the work. He was very pleasant and easy going and worked quickly. He was able to do everything on my list and then fixed the screen door on his way out (which was not on my list but should have been).

Shane came and quickly tackled our growing list of house projects in a 4 hour stretch. He was punctual for our appointment time, and although very friendly...came ready to work and got right to it after a brief description of the jobs. He was very considerate of my house/pets/kids and left all work areas clean...certainly exceeded my expectations of what could be done with the time given. I would definitely hire again!
Description of Work: Filled window sized hole in basement wall with wooden piece and painted it to match house, fixed two fence gates that were sticking, patched a hole in mudroom drywall near electrical box, fixed another exterior door by adjusting hinges, adjusted old interior door hardware so doors functioned properly, de-stickered some windows on newly constructed garage

Shane and his crew were top-notch. They arrived on time and were in constant contact. In fact, I joked with Shane that it seemed like I got an email every five minutes on their progress. My project was very unique. We had a cable system designed to create a gallery wall of artwork and pictures throughout the 10,000 SF office building. At first I thought I could do it myself with a few coworkers, but it became clear very quickly it was going to be tedious and complicated and would need a contractor's attention to detail to complete it. The guys came in and after a 2 minute demonstration they got to work. They had never done anything like this and were eager for the challenge. I estimated a 2-4 hour job and they finished in about 3 hours. It was done perfectly and I could not have been happier. As a result they are now the Charlotte area experts on cable gallery wall systems. While they were here, I also had them look at the wooden fence and cage that hides the businesses dumpster. It had been mangled by one of the garbage trucks and I asked Shane if he could tackle that repair as well. He didn't bat and eye and put one of his guys on it immediately. They left for a quick lumber run and within an hour they had the fence/cage area looking like new. They were professional, courteous, and most important of all did good work at a reasonable price. I'm now to the point were I'm looking for little projects just so I can call them to come back. Well done guys!
Description of Work: This was a commercial project at a business. It involved hanging a unique gallery display wall and also repairing a dumpster containment area.

When they came out, I had contacted the gentlemen before I did the deal to make sure that he could do the work and he said that was fine, you know, shouldn't have a problem with it. Then when I bought the deal it took him, I think it was three days it took him to contact me. I had to take additional time off of work and then the following week said he was going to come out, his technician was going to come out, and he was late both days. The first day he was out there he had to go to Lowe's a couple of times, I don't know where it was, he was gone for like over an hour. I originally scheduled 4 hours of labor and half of that wasn't what it was worth. I had additional costs, I had to pay for another 4 hours of labor or whatever it was. It was double the big deal price a little more, he initially told me he would give the price of the big deal and then he charged me more for it. I was frustrated trying to get one of the contractors and deal with it. I think it was a week and a day after I bought the big deal. The work he did was fine I just feel like the technician took a lot longer than it should have taken. The quality was fine. It did take him three days initially to contact me. The tech was late. He was really professional. I wish they would have gave me a detailed receipt when he, because I purchased the additional they basically gave me a bill at the end but didn't give me a detailed receipt as far as the parts on there but he didn't tell me what the parts were.

It went very well. The only unanticipated problem was the soffit vent I had purchased was too large. Shane was unable to find a smaller version at Lowe's so he made modifications to the one I'd bought. It worked very well. Shane goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done correctly. I'm very pleased with his work. The owner (the other Shane) agreed to provide the service at an hourly rate comparable to the Angie's List pre-purchase price.
Description of Work: I have a bathroom fan that has been dripping for quite some time. I was able to properly identify the problem as condensation but the fix involved cutting a hole in the soffit of my home, something I was uncomfortable doing while up on a high ladder. I contacted Eager Beaver, they said that this task is something they had plenty of experience doing. I purchased parts ahead of time. Shane (not the owner, another Shane) came out yesterday morning. He did a great job, cutting a hole for the new vent in the soffit, cutting the vent piece to fit in the limited space provided by the soffit, then running insulated ductwork from the fan to the new vent hole. It took less than two hours to do. Shane is a hard worker, very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend.

These guys are great! We just bought a new house and discovered that the washer/dryer wouldn't fit through the laundry room's doorway. The laundry room's doorway was 28" and my washer/dryer were 29". Since Eager Beaver had such great reviews I sent them a message hoping that they could come out and open up the doorway right away... they did! They showed up right on time and were very nice. I had found a couple of 16" doors in the attic to replace the existing door so the guys needed to resize the doorway to accommodate the new doors. They removed the small door, trim and molding and then cut away a few inches. They then added the lumber and adjusted the trim etc. so the doorway is now bigger and the new doors look like they belong there. They always cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Definitely recommend.

After two days of demolition, and a thousand dollars out of my pocket, Shane indicated he still could not bid out the whole job, but that he'd like to have his guy start framing some of the work while he worked on the broader bid. We obliged, and paid another $420 to have one day of framing done. Several days later, Shane indicated he still did not have a bid for me and that he wanted a plumber and electrician to come out to the house to better assess the work. The day they were schedule to arrive, Shane texted me he'd be unable to meet them, and I asked I work directly with his sub contractors. I was happy to do so. Several more days later I emailed Shane asking for a detail bid for the work. He simply responded, "Thanks Adam, but I'm going to pass on the work". In most cases, this would be fine, things don't work out. He's allowed to pass on the work and I'm allowed to use whoever is the best fit, HOWEVER, several days after this a City inspector visited the job site to signoff on foundation work a separate company (specialist) was performing. While the inspector was there, they notified us that permits were not pulled for the demo work that Shane performed, nor was some of the framing his team did correct (improper baseplate install in one of the bathrooms). It would have to be removed and redone. The city inspector threatened to fine us.....etc I honestly liked Shane, and would tell you to use him if you need a small job . Something every straightforward and lacking complexity. Hang a door, tile a backsplash...etc. Don't use this company for any thing significant. Its too big for them to handle, bid, manage (can't meet his own sub contractors)....etc
Description of Work: Eager Beaver was asked to assist in full remodel of home, with majority of work focused on gutting and completing two full bathrooms within the home. Shane and his team were responsive and willing to come look at the job site. He was overly eager to start demolition before fully bidding out the job. We were assured permits would be pulled for all work and that once demo was complete, he'd have better visibility into what was needed and could provide a more accurate bid/quote. We were expecting to spend

IF YOU ARE A CONTRACTOR OR HANDYMAN BEWARE OF THIS CLIENT. I HAVE DONE MANY REMODELS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD A WORSE EXPERIENCE IN MY ENTIRE CAREER. THIS HOUSE IS 100 OR MORE YEARS OLD AND IS LITERALLY HALF EATEN BY TERMITES. HE KNEW THE CONDITION OF THE HOME AND CONTINUALLY ASKED ME TO BID THE JOB BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO SEE THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T CONTINUE WITH THIS CLIENT AND HIS PROJECT. I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE HIS PRIOR CONTRACTOR AND BASED ON WHAT I LEARNED I AM GRATEFUL THAT I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO PASS ON ANY WORK AFTER WE DID THE DEMO. WE WOULD NEVER WORK WITHOUT THE NECESSARY PERMITS, AND THE CLIENT ASSURED US THAT PERMITS WERE PULLED UNDER HIS NAME. THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THE FACT THAT WE DID ANYTHING INCORRECTLY. THIS CLIENT IS CLEARLY ANGRY THAT I WAS ABLE TO SLIP AWAY BEFORE HE COULD VICTIMIZE ANOTHER COMPANY WITH HIS TACTICS.

Shane and dispatched two of his team to my home on a Saturday. The first member of his crew installed two bathroom vents and a new kitchen faucet. A job that was not easy due to an very large sink and disposal in the way. While working on this, I mentioned to Shane that I needed some electrical work done and he was able to get his electrician out the same day. I needed to fix some poor work done by a company hired by the previous owner (Repair Date - Charlotte) who not only messed up but would not stand behind their work. They did an outstanding job and got a HUGE punch list taken care of for me right before the holidays. Shane and Eager Beaver are going to be the only call we make going forward for the projects that are just too big for me to do. 10/10 - will use again.
Description of Work: Installed two bathroom vents, new kitchen faucet, wired an outlet on the kitchen island and connected 4 pot lights to a dimmer switch.
