Description of Work: Furnished and installed kitchen cabinets

Description of Work: In 2009 we contracted with Thom Knowles and Mick Saron to perform kitchen and wetbar design and installion work in our home. We were still in the process of finalizing the designs for the kitchen, but we had finalized a design for the wetbar. We provided a down payment of $17000. The wetbar work was completed to our satisifaction, however after discussing with Thom we decided not to complete the kitchen work and he agreed to provide a refund for the difference between the cost of the wetbar work ($9000) and the money we provided as a down payment ($17000). We chased Thom for more than 4 months to get a refund and we kept getting the standard excuses. Eventually Thom stopped responding to email, the phone was disconnected, and in riding by their place of business, it was on the market for sale. Several weeks later we received a letter from an attorney indicated the company went out of business. We never received a refund. In response to the business, please check your facts - I did receive a check of $.03 on the dollar owed amounting to roughly $190. I don't consider this a refund and the check was never cashed.
